ON SITE ALTERNATES
If you are on the alternate list, but have not been admitted by late Friday, May 21, you can be an on-site alternate at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Alternates will sign in at the tournament desk with the referee. If a default or withdrawal creates a vacancy in the draw, the alternate who has signed in and is highest on the alternate list will fill the vacancy. Alternates may play doubles even if they are not admitted to singles.
The order of the alternates is based on the original Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more recent National Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in.
