|
Administrative Error in Doubles Seeding
Please note that a player was omitted from the doubles list that affected the seeding. The error has been corrected.
|
Notes from the Mandatory Meeting
1. Match format: SINGLES and DOUBLES - Best of 3 tie break sets in East and and SF and F and ¾ PO in doubles. Non East draws, East Gold Feed in, other all doubles will be 2 TB sets with a Match TB at 2 all.
If you begin a 3rd set instead of the match TB call for an Umpire immediately.
2. Check in for Matches –8am matches will have a shot gun start. Find your court assignment on the monitor and report to your court w/o checking into the desk. All other times be at the site 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time.
3. Compass Draw: All players are guaranteed 4 rounds of play in both singles and doubles. You will find in your packets an explanation of where on the compass you move after each round of play. As long as you are winning, you don’t move to another point in the compass. Large draws explain.
4. COACHING is only allowed during the mandatory rest break between the 2nd and 3rd sets. NO coaching for split sets before match tie breaks Coaching includes any instructions to the player about their play or attitude.
5. Play will be subject to the rules of the USTA with the POINT PENALTY SYSTEM in effect throughout the tournament. There will be a certified roving official for every 4 courts. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated during or after the matches. This includes behavior in the hotels.
6. Facility Rules are posted on the Tournament Website and also included in your packet. Be aware that use of the listed words are subject to a code violation.
7. LEAVING THE COURT – Do not leave your court without notifying an official. This includes bathroom breaks and split sets. You are allowed a 10 minute rest period for split sets in East Draw. This time begins at the end of the last point of the set, not when you walk off the court. The umpire’s clock is the official time. The penalty for being late up to 5 minutes after rest period is loss of 1 game. After 5 minutes it is a Default.
8. REPORT SCORES immediately after your match is completed. The Winner and Loser should verify the reported scores. The winner should collect the balls and return them to the tournament desk. Winners and Losers are responsible for checking the Match Board for their next match time. I will be glad to assist you with this.
9. NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES are allowed on court. If your cell phone rings during a point, you will lose the point. Please ask your parents and coaches to refrain from talking on their cell phones near the courts. All spectators should have their phones on vibrate.
10. TRAINER will be available at WINDWARD LAKE CLUB.
