Ground Rules Peachtree City Tennis Center (770-486-9474) is available for practice. Court reservatons can be made for Thursday and Friday at $10.00 per hour ($5.00 per 1/2 hr), paid in advance and non-refundable. During tournament play on Saturday and thereafter, covered courts may be reserved, at the same rate. If there is rain, covererd court will be used for match play and court fees will be refunded. Metro Tennis Associates (the tournament) takes authority over the outdoor courts at 6:30 Saturday morning. Practice court reservations for 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30 a.m can be made at the tournament desk the day before. The clay courts can not be used by tournament players before or during the tournament.Warm-up Courts and Hitting Lessons Warm-up Courts before start of the tournament: Warm-up courts can be reserved at the front desk by calling 770.486.9474 ext 0. The cost will be $10.00 per hour ($5.00 per 1/2 hr) per court. During the tournament covered courts are available for warm-ups at the same rate. Hitting Lessons: Pros will be available for hitting lessons during the course of the tournament. Please contact the front desk (770.486.9474 ext 0) to book the lessons. The cost is $50.00/hour and $27.00/ ½ hour. All court bookings and hitting lessons/warm-ups need to be paid in advance.

Peachtree City is a suburb of Atlanta. It is located approximately 24 miles southwest of Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport. Peachtree City Tennis Center, Summit YMCA, and possibly a third site will host play on Saturday. On Sunday and thereafter all play will be at Peachtree City Tennis Center. For a Map Click "more info." A GPS location for the Tennis Center is 10 Planterra Way, Peachtree City, GA 30269, although it's about 0.3 mile away. If you approach from Hwy 54, you will get to the tennis center before you get to the GPS location.

Friday 4:15-5:45 - Pre-Tournanent Drills Friday 5:00-5:45 - Player Check-in Friday 6:00 - Player Meeting with Pizza to follow Friday 6:00 - Doubles Entry Deadline Saturday: 2 rounds main draw singles and one round consolation singles followed by doubles round of 32 and possibly round of 16 (Girls only). Sunday 7:30 AM: 15-20 minute non-denominational Chapel Service Sunday: 1 round doubles* followed by 1 round of consolation singles, 1 round of main draw singles, and then a 2nd round of consolation singles. Boys only will play a second round of Doubles. Monday: 1 round doubles* followed by 1 round of consolation singles, 1 round of main draw singles, and then a 2nd round of consolation singles. Tuesday: 1 round doubles followed by 1 round of consolation singles, 1 round of main draw singles, and then a 2nd round of consolation singles. Directions from Florida, Macon, and points south (shorter than Interstates) Take I-75 northbound to exit # 205 (GA Hwy 16). Turn left (west toward Griffin). Go approximately 24 miles. On the left will be Pike Academy. Just past that will be a Citgo Station on the left . Turn Right at the Citgo station onto Hwy 85 Connector. Stay on Hwy 85 connector through Brooks approximately 8 miles to the deadend (at Hwy 85). Turn left on Hwy 85 and go less than 1/2 mile to the first traffic light. Turn right at the light onto GA Hwy 74. Go approximatel 7 miles to the intersection with GA Hwy 54 (The Avenue will be on your left.) Turn left onto Hwy 54. It is the first traffic light past the overhead golf cart bridge. Turn Right on Hwy 54 and Go to 3rd traffic light. Turn left on Planterra Way. Tennis Center is immediately on left. For map, click “more info". BEWARE! It may look better to take surface roads from I-20 to Peachtree City, but if they take you through Newnan, they could be very congested.

Scoring Formats
Singles will play the "Best of 2 sets" with a 10-pt Match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set. Doubles will play 8-game pro-sets with 10-pt tiebreak at 8-all.

DOUBLES Selection Order
The 2010 USTA Tournament Committee Manual states: "The Tournament Committee shall accept double teams into the doubles event in the following order: 1. All teams comprising two players in the singles draw shall be selected. 2. Teams comprising one player in the singles draw and one player not in the singles draw. If more than the maximum number of entries is received, selection order is based on combined standings and combined doubles ranking points, except that no team comprised of a Late Applicant shall be selected before a team comprised of timely applicants. Tournaments are NOT authorized to expand the draw size in order to accommodate these types of teams. 3. Teams comprising two players not in the singles draw. USTA Release
All players and parents must complete and sign a USTA Release form prior at check-in. If the player is traveling without a parent, parents must send the signed release with the player. Please click "more info" to print a release to send with the player.

Seeding Method
The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for the tournament. Refer to Table 16 in 2010 Friend at Court for the seeding criteria.

Withdrawals and Refunds
Withdrawals A player shall not withdraw from a tournament except for illness, injury, personal emergency, or previously authorized entry into another tournament. Refunds A player accepted into the main draw of this tournament will receive a refund if: The player withdraws at least 7 days prior to the starting time of the event, and The Tournament Committee receives written verification no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament that the withdrawal is for injury, illness, or personal emergency, and The illness, injury, or personal emergency is genuine, and A self-addressed stamped envelope is included with the written verification. Facebook Doubles Communications A Facebook group has been set up to help you find a partner. If you need a partner, JOIN THE GROUP. You can contact others and others can contact you without giving out any personal information. Here's how you do it. Click on "more info" below to go to the Group. If you are a member, enter your email and password. If you are not a member, click on "Join" (to the right of the National Open 12 Doubles heading ) Then, click on Sign Up. You will need to enter your first and last name, your email address, your birthdate, and a password. Everything except your name is confidential. Before your membership is finalized, Facebook will send a message to your email address. Follow the instructions to complete your membership. It only takes a few seconds. Afer you have enrolled in Facebook and joined the group, your name (and photo, if you provided one) will be in the "Members" box on the bottom left of the "Wall" page. If you would like to leave a message regarding doubles, click on the "Discussions" Tab at the top of the page and select the age group (or Topic) that you want to contact. In the box labeled "Reply", post a message. Anyone who joins the group can contact you by clicking on your name on the "Wall" page, and you can contact anyone, as well. Messages between group members are secure. You don't reveal your email address or phone number by sending a message, because Facebook sends the messages without personal information. You may send phone info via the message process to whomever you wish, but don't post your phone number in a Discussion Topic. To logout, click on "Account" in the upper right and scroll down to "Logout". Once you have found a partner, email 2010natopen@goodsports.us.

Forget about the Players and Alternate Lists to the Left. They NEVER CHANGE!Alternates Ordered alternate lists are posted in the REPORTS (above). Alternate Lists will be updated as changes occur. If you are an alternate and are admitted, we will notify you immediately. All alternates should email current phone contact numbers. If we have a vacancy, and you cannot be contacted within 24 hours, you will be bypassed and the next alternate admitted. The waiting period for confirmation will get shorter as the date of the tournament gets closer, so get the information to us! Alternates' credit cards were not process, so admitted alternates will need to pay by Visa or MasterCard. Email your phone contact info to 2010natopen@goodsports.us. Check-in and Players' Meeting
Tournament Check-in will be Friday May 21, 5:00-5:45 p.m. at Peachtree City Tennis Center. A 15-20 minute players' meeting will be held at 6:00. Pizza will be served at 6:30 after the meeting. Players unable to attend must come to Peachtree City Tennis Center at least one hour before their first match to check in.

If you are on the alternate list, but have not been admitted by late Friday, May 21, you can be an on-site alternate at Peachtree City Tennis Center. Alternates mustl sign in by the check-in deadline at the tournament desk. If a default or withdrawal creates a vacancy in the draw, the alternate who has signed in and is highest on the alternate list will fill the vacancy. Alternates may play doubles even if they are not admitted to singles. ...Any alternate desiring admittance must check in and be ready for play no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match time of the event for which they are an alternate. The order of the alternates is based on the original Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more recent National Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in. If an alternate arrives late, he may be accepted after all on-time alternates. If more than one arrive late and all on-time alternates have been admitted, late arrivals will be accepted in the order in which each falls on the alternate list at the time the vacancy occurs. We cannot give out personal information, so if you need help finding a partner, we have set up a Facebook Group so that you can contact others who have been accepted. In order to communicate with others you must JOIN the group. After you join, you can send or receive messages from those who have joined without exchanging phone numbers or email addresses.
