Copper Bowl registration will be Jan 1, 2010 from 9am-6pm at the Hilton El Conquistador Presidio Ballroom. Players will receive an information player packet and a complimentary T-shirt. The shirts will also be available on Jan 2nd from 6-7:30pm at the Presidio desk for players that miss check in. Please make sure a parent or guardian is available to sign the release form or bring a signed release form with player. You can also mail, fax or e-mail the form in advance. Mike Gleason, Master Racquet Tech and USPTA P1 Pro with over 30 years exp. in the tennis industry, will be stringing in the Palo Verde Room (Next to the Presidio desk at the Hilton) Hours of operation: 7am to 8 pm, Dec. 31 thru January 6 Mike will have products from Luxilon, Babolat, Wilson, Prince, and Gamma. The world famous Copper Bowl ping pong tournament will be held on Jan 3rd and Jan 4th in the Presidio Ballroom at the Hilton El Conquistador. All participants MUST be present by 7:00pm to compete, late entrants cannot be accepted. Kachina trophy will be awarded to the overall winner each night. Competition is for players under 18 years of age. Tables will be open for practice daily beginning on Dec 31st in the Presidio Ballroom. Paddles and balls will be available at the Hilton front desk, USTA card or picture ID must be presented to check out equiptment.

The Copper Bowl Player party will be held at Funtasticks Family Fun Park on Jan 3rd from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Copper Bowl Competitors will receive a slice of pizza, a drink and 12 game tokens. The COPPER BOWL TRAINING CAMP is held at Tucson Racquet Club December 29, 30, 31, 2009 & Jan 1, 2010. The Copper Bowl Camp is designed as a competitive hitting session with players entered in the tournament to acclimate players to Tucson playing conditions. Players are grouped by age divisions and will hit with each other under the supervision of teaching pros. The drills are fast-paced, player/player routines, followed by competitive point play. Laurel Springs school founder Marilyn Mosely will be presenting on Fri, Jan 1st. Her seminar will discuss the benefits and opportunities available for quality distance learning. This seminar will be particularly applicable to parents and players trying to balance quality college prepratory education with the heavy travel schedules demanded by the highest levels of junior tennis. Seminar will begin at 4:30pm in the Hilton's Presidio Ballroom. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. All Copper Bowl parents and players are encouraged to attend right after registration. more info

Doubles will begin on January 3rd. Players may now enter doubles in TDM without a partner and will be paired randomly. Players can still sign up with a partner the day of the check-ins January 1st untill 6 p.m. Players may only enter doubles in the age group in which they are playing singles due to proximity of playing sites. Please DO NOT sign up for doubles in a different age division than singles. Although TDM will allow this it will cause you to be withdrawn from doubles when draws are made and may prevent you from getting into the correct doubles draw.

Attention alternates: As you see yourself move up into the top 5 on the list please ensure that you email us your contact information. If you did not enter your phone number when you registered it will not get passed along. Alternate lists will be updated often so check back every other day. We will accept on site alternates in the order they appear on the official alternate list. On site alternates may register on 2 Jan at the Hilton El Conquistador Presidio Desk.

According to the new USTA regulations there will be no refunds after the entry deadline (Dec 3rd), unless the withdrawal is due to illness, injury, or personal emergency. If a player must withdraw, please contact the tournament office immediately by phone or electronic means so alternates may be contacted. The withdrawing player must follow up with written verification (non email form), which has to be received in office by the end of the tournament (Jan 7th). If the withdrawal is for illness or injury written verification must be in a form of a dated medical report from a Medical Professional, if due to personal emergency the player must provide a written and signed letter explaining the situation. The Tournament Referee shall evaluate all documentation and determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. Non documented withdrawals will result in suspension points being levied. Please take this into consideration when making the decision to play doubles and keep in mind that all finals are played on Thursday, January 7th 2010 for planning purposes.

The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for the tournament. Refer to Table 17 in 2009 Friend at Court for the seeding criteria. The 12/23 NSL list was used for seeding. Please note that seeds 17-32 are seeded alphabetically according to Table 17.

The deadline for the 2010 Copper Bowl is December 3rd at 12:00 (noon) Eastern Standard Time. YOU CAN ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE AGE GROUP IN COPPER BOWL. Players must sign up for doubles in the same age group as singles.

On the top left side of this page click on Edit Registration. When you arrive at the next page, click on "Withdraw" on the left hand side of the screen. You will need your confirmation number from your original registration to withdraw. Because your credit card will not be charged prior to the entry deadline, no refund needs to be made. If you cannot locate your confirmation number, contact linkteam@usta.com.

The Copper Bowl Qualifier will be played on Dec 30 and 31. Four players in each age group will receive wildcard spots into the main draw. Players must be on the Copper Bowl official alternate list to enter the qualifier. Qualifier deadline is December 17th, 2009. No late entries into the qualifier will be accepted.
