Alternates
The Alternate list will be updated daily. SINCE WE ARE IN THE LAST FEW DAYS BEFORE THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT, IT IS ESPECIASLLY IMOPORTANT THAT WE HAVE CONTACT INFO AVAILSBLE (HOME PHONE/CELL/EMAIL) FOR PLAYERS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST. Since credit card information was deleted for all players on the alternate list, a check for $95 (made payable to "Detroit Tennis Patrons" needs to be immediately sent, for those put into the main draw, to: Jon Fischer, 2224 Golfside, #321, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Withdrawls
Players withdrawing from the Tournament should email the Tournament Director at jonfischer6@aol.com.

Refunds
Refunds will be made for injury or illness if written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional is sent to the Referee (Peter Chen, 2224 Golfside, #321, Ypsilanti, MI 48197) no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament (Nov. 30). Refunds will be made for a personal emergency if a letter describing the situation is sent to the Referee (see above) no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament the referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency.

Tournament Schedule
First Match Times will be available on line beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 6 pm. The tournament begins Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26 at 8 am. Main Draw Singles schedule: Thursday, Round of 64 Friday, Round of 32 Saturday, Round of 16 Sunday, Quarters and Semifinals Monday, Singles Final at 12 noon, Consolation Semis and Finals, and 3/4 Singles Playoff. Two rounds of consolation will be played each day beginning Friday. Doubles will play the Round of 32 on Thursday, and conclude on Sunday with the Doubles Finals and the 3/4 Doubles Playoff..

Tournament Site
The site is the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center, located at 2250 South State Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104, one mile north of the I-94/State Street exit (exit 177 on I-94). This is the only site used for the tournament and has 8 indoor hard courts with exceptional spectator viewing for all courts. Please note while this is the site, the University of Michigan and the Varsity Tennis Center are not conducting the tournament please do not call the Varsity Tennis Center with questions, etc. concerning the tournament. Tournament Hotel
The official Tournament Hotel is the Holiday Inn & Suites--Central Campus, at 3155 Boardwalk Drive, just off State Street at I-94/Exit 177, located less than a mile from the Varsity Tennis Center. A block of rooms has been set aside at a rate of $99 per night. The block of rooms is being held through Nov. 12 and requires a minimum of two nights per reservation. This is Ann Arbor's newest full-service hotel and is 100% smoke free. Refrigerator/microwaqve in each room. Indoor pool and Fitness Center. Free High-Speed Wireless Internet. Walking distance to Damon's, Wendy's and other restaurants. The Holiday Inn & Suitews will also provide a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner from 4 pm through 7 pm in their onsite restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. Price fore the dinner is $12.95/pp for adults, $6.95 for children 12 and under. Practice Courts
Warmup courts during the tournament will be available each morning from 6:30-8 am, without charge. Practice courts will be open to players during the tournament as they become available during the day and at the end of play each day. All practice courts during the tournament will be assigned at the Tournament Desk. Practice courts before the tournament will be available on a walkon basis at the University of Michigan student hourly rate (as per NCAA regulations). Players need to appear in person to sign up for walkon courts no advance reservations will be taken. A court at Travis Pointe Country Club has been donated by the club from10am-12noon on Thursday and Friday assignment for this court must be made at the tournament desk. Registration
The registration desk for the Tournament will be open from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and beginning at 7 am at the Varsity Tennis Center on Thursday. Players not registering on Wednesday must register at the VTC at least 30 minutes before their first match time. First match times will be available online beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 6 pm.

Doubles Entries
Doubles entries will remain open through 12 noon on Thursday. All players should register for doubles at the Varsity Tennis Center, or by emailing Tournament Director Jon Fischer, jonfischer6@aol.com, even if they have entered online.

Seeding
The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for this tournament, based on the list published on november 18. Refer to Table 17 in "2009 Friend at Court" for the seeding criteria.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 29, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
