ALTERNATES TAKE NOTE All alternates who wish to remain on
the alternate list MUST send me an e-mail with a telephone number
AT WHICH YOU CAN BE REACHED. Some years we go deep on our
alternates lists - don't miss out by failing to inform us how to
reach you! Please, don't just assume you provided the information
when you registered for the event - last year almost one-third of
the applicants either failed to provide any telephone or e-mail
contact information or provided inaccurate information. In the
event of an opening - we have already had several - players we
cannot reach will be skipped over and REMOVED from the alternate
list.

SITES Matches will be played at Florida State University
(all days) and Florida A&M University (first 2 - 3 days only).
The sites are about one mile apart.
MAPQUEST ADDRESS The FSU courts are located at the
intersection of Spirit Way and Chieftan Way. These campus streets
may not show up on all map search engines or nav units. You can use
403 Stadium Drive (32306), which is Doak Campbell Football Stadium.
Spirit Way is off Stadium Drive a couple of blocks north of the
stadium.

TOURNAMENT SIGN IN / PLAYER SITE REGISTRATION Player Site
Registration will be at the FSU site on Friday evening from 4:45 to
6:45 PM. We recommend you bring your signed releases with you to
save time. You may sign up for doubles during this time as well. If
you cannot attend be at the Player Site Registrationon on Friday
evening, you must check-in and register at the FSU site on Saturday
morning between 7:00 and 7:15 am. Note: if your first match is at
FAMU, you still must first sign-in at FSU. There will be no delayed
match start times to accomodate late check-ins - no
exceptions.
MATCH CHECK-IN Check in at the tournament desk at least 20
minutes before each of your scheduled matches.
DOUBLES SIGN-UP Please plan to play doubles. You may sign up
during Tournament Check-in and Player Site Registration on Friday
evening or on Saturday morning before 10:00 a.m. The first round of
doubles will begin Saturday afternoon. If you already have a
doubles partner, BOTH players may notify us of your team by e-mail
--- will8239@msn.com -- but when you arrive at the event please
double-check the doubles sign-up lists to ensure we have your team
properly listed. If you do not have a partner, please let us know
and we'll assist you in locating one. Note: only players may sign
up for doubles -- parents and coaches may NOT sign up players for
the doubles event.
WITHDRAWALS Must be submitted in writing and must include
the player's name, USTA number and reason for withdrawal. No
refunds will be issued for withdrawals after 8:00 a.m. EST on June
27th. TennisLink fees will not be refunded. Authorized refunds will
be issue within ten days following the event.
USTA MEDICAL RELEASE FORM The USTA requires a liability and
medical relase signed by a parent or LEGAL guardian. A player's
coach or an adult who is not a LEGAL guardian may NOT sign the form
- NO EXCEPTIONS. The release form can be found at

TRAINER A trainer will be at the FSU site for the duration
of the event. If during match play at FAMU you need a trainer, let
the site referee know. You may be required to continue play until
the trainer arrives, but we'll do our best to send the trainer as
soon as possible.
SPORTS INJURY THERAPIST We are pleased to announce that
Advanced Alternatives Massage Therapy, sports injury and
therapeutic massage specialists, will be on location. Private

RACQUET STRINGING Racquet stringing services will be
available at the FSU site.
HITTING PARTNERS LIST Several men and women college players
will be in town before the event. Their rates are very reasonable.
A list of names and contact information will be available on June
21. Pros and iinstructors are also available by appointment at USTA
award-winning Forestmeadows Park 850-891-3920 -- ask for Glen Howe
or Steve Leroy.
PRACTICE COURTS There are several sites in the area that are
available on a first-come-first-served basis. Look for details in
the tournament packet.
PARKING PERMITS AND SPEED TRAP WARNING Beginning Monday 7/6,
you will be ticketed if you park on the FSU campus without a
parking permit! We'll provide those for you. Look for details
on-site on Saturday and Sunday. Also, please observe the posted 20
mph limit on the streets leading to the FSU courts. Campus police
routinely monitor traffic in front of the courts with radar, and
generously dole out tickets. The event will not reimburse you for
traffic infraction or illegal parking fines.
HOT WEATHER WARNING Count on very hot weather, and count on
problems if you do not properly hydrate. We also suggest using sun
screen.
TOURNAMENT HOTEL - COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT CAPITOL Located at
1801 Apalachee Parkway, 32301, just down the street from the
Capitol and downtown, and about 1.5 miles from the sites. Special
tournament rate $84.00/night. Ask for the "National Open B&G

SEEDING Seeding for this tournament was based on the
all-factors method. See Freind-at-Court.
NOTES: This is a Level 2 event. Singles is a Full Feed-in
Consolation (through QF), with a playoff for 3rd and 4th place
(awards for 1st - 4th in the main draw, and 5th - 6th in the
consolation round). Doubles is Single Elimination, with a playoff
for 3rd and 4th place. Match Formats: Best of 3 tie-break sets with
regular scoring for Singles and 8 game Pro-Set for Doubles. In the
event of inclement weather, formats may change. Balls: Wilson. New
balls are provided at the beginning of a third set. Draw sizes: 64
for singles and 32 for doubles.
FAILED CREDIT CARDS You must pay the registration fee in
order to play in this USTA sanctioned tournament. If your charge
card failed, contact me as soon as possible -- in order to
paticipate, we must receive payment by JUNE 19th. If we have not
received payment by that date, you will be dropped from the
event.

Player Selection Type4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 4, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
