Tournament Background and NO QUIT Award Mr Agassi has teamed up with Marty Hennessy and Ryan Wolfington to host a tournament where kids are treated like pros. Marty Hennessy has been running this tournament for over 25 years. All the Agassi's have played it. Now, Mr. Agassi invites you to come to join him as he watches you battle it out and most of all, never, ever quit. Mike Agassi was born poor in Iran where he defined the "NO QUIT" spirit becoming an Olympic boxer and then defecting to America. Training his son to become one of the best players of all time, Mike Agassi has helped make popular "taking the ball on the rise." Concepts of the modern day ball machine are a result of his genius, as well. Most of all he is a kind and decent man. Come meet Mr. Agassi and show him your character. At Mike Agassi's "NO QUIT" Championships character is everything. The Mike Agassi "NO QUIT" award goes to the one player that displays an unbridled willingness to never quit.

Attention..... Los Caballeros Entrants Los Cab Competitors who are NO QUIT Alternates will be removed later today. NO QUIT Competitors and Alternates who remain on the Los Caballeros Applicants/Competitors lists after the deadline (Monday September 7, 11:59pm PDT) will be removed from the NO QUIT Tournament. Alternates will be removed from the NO QUIT alternate lists. Players already admitted to the NO QUIT singles draws will be withdrawn and replaced with an alternate. NO REFUND will be issued for those who have entered and been accepted to NO QUIT and then play in another event. Any player given provisional permission to enter both events must choose between the two events before the passage of the September 7 entry deadline. Since all entries are accepted in Los Caballeros, any player who remains in Los Caballeros past it's deadline will be removed from the NO QUIT. Players entered in more than one tournament with intention to withdraw from one if they win in another, or play in one if they lose in another creates an unfair situation for alternates who have followed USTA guidelines and entered only one event. Los Caballeros entrants are guaranteed a spot in the draw. NO Quit alternates' situation is dependent upon withdrawals and how many alternates are in front of them. It is totally unfair to have "maybes" in from of them when they are trying to decide whether to come as on-site alternates or merely get a true picture of where they stand on the alternate list. Remember, players must get permission from both tournaments to enter two concurrent events. We are not giving anyone permission to be a player in both events.

6 entrants are selected who are highest on the most current standings of the next lower age group, provided that they are in the top 200 listed. 25 entrants are selected who are highest on the most current standings of the age group of the event. Finally, 1 player is a wild card and selected by the tournament. (Wild card must be eligible for National Ranking.) Entrants who entered two age divisions, but not selected for the older age division, will be deleted and considered for entry in the younger age division. Alternate Lists will be posted in the Tournament Reports above. Alternates will be ordered based on their natural age group national standing. Alternates with no natural age group ranking will be listed after the first group based on their next lower age group standing. Players having no national standing will be ordered by lot. Alternates will be ordered based on the National Standings used for player selection. No changes will be made in the order, even if subsequent standings are published. The "Players" list will not change once it is published. The Competitors list will reflect real-time changes in the entrants for each event. Alternate lists will be updated as changes occur.
|
