Warm up and Practice courts
Practice courts will be available at Burns Park everyday. 3 courts outside on a first come first serve basis and 6 indoor courts can be rented at $10.00 a half hour.

USTA Release and Medical Release
At check-in you are required to submit a signed USTA Release form. If a parent is not traveling with the player, you should print a copy of the USTA release by clicking "more info" to send with him or fax to (501)791-8586.The form will be available on-site for those traveling with a parent or legal guardian.

SINGLES DRAW/MATCH FORMAT
Singles competition will be a Compass Draw.
Singles and Doubles matches will be 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
Eligibility:
Players who meet the U.S. or residency requirements, the USTA age eligibility requirements, and membership requirements (current USTA membership) may enter.
Players must be endorsed by their Section to be selected for the tournament as a competitor or alternate.

TIMELINE
7/16 THU - Entries close 12 NOON EASTERN TIME. Late entries will be accepted by email or fax only.
7/23 Wed- Ordered Alternate Report will be posted, if not earlier.
7/30 THU - Alternates will be given 4 hours to respond before the next alternate is contacted
8/01 SAT - Last day to withdraw and receive a refund - Only email or fax withdrawals will be accepted, no phone calls.
8/01 SAT - Alternates will only be given 2 hours to respond before the next alternate is contacted
8/04 TUE - First alternate reached by phone will have 1 hour to decide before the next alternate is contacted
8/06 THU- Singles Draw Posted by Noon
8/07 FRI - Mandatory Check-In at Burns Park Tennis Center -3:00 pm until 5:30 pm
8/07 FRI - Mandatory Player Meeting at 6:00 pm at Burns Park Tennis Center STADIUM COURT
8/07 FRI – All players & their families are invited to a welcoming party 6:30 pm until 8:30 PM.
8/08 SAT - Doubles draws will be posted by NOON
8/08 SAT - Play begins - 1 round of singles and doubles

Method of Entry:
Players must enter using TennisLink. Please note that if you are not selected in the initial selection, your credit card is not processed. If you are selected from the alternates list, you will need to provide your credit card information to the tournament.

Seeding
Seeding Method: The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for the tournament. Refer to Table 17 in 2009 Friend at Court for the seeding criteria.

WITHDRAWALS
Withdrawal before Thursday, 7/16, 12:00 pm NOON Eastern Time
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the left side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw."
Withdrawal after Thursday, 7/16, 12:01 pm Eastern Time
You must fax or email your withdrawal. Do not call to withdraw. The email is Gusstennis@gmail.com and the fax is (501)791-8586. You will receive a refund, but it may take 3-4 weeks.
Withdrawal after Saturday, 8/01
You must fax or email your withdrawal. Do not call to withdraw. The email is Gusstennis@gmail.com and the fax is (501)791-8586. You will only receive a refund if a written medical excuse is provided to the referee by 8/14/09.
Withdrawal after the tournament begins, 8/08
You must see the trainer and notify the Head Referee. Do not call the desk to withdraw. Unless you speak to the Head Referee IN PERSON, leaving the tournament will be counted as a "No Show."

Doubles Entry:
The following players are eligible to enter the doubles event:
- Singles Players on the Competitors List
- Singles Alternates who appear on a Sectional Endorsement List
- USTA National Open Doubles Qualifiers
- Players with doubles-only endorsements.
No other players are eligible to play doubles.
Please register online for doubles with a partner, if possible. On-Site Doubles sign up will end on Friday, August 7, at 8:00pm.
Please note that you are responsible for entering or withdrawing from doubles, as well as, finding a partner. At the mandatory check-in you will be asked to confirm your doubles status & partner.
If you do not have a partner by Friday, 8/07, at 8:00 pm, we will do our best to assign you one. However, if there is an odd number of entries, there are no guarantees.
Any alternates that were selected to play singles will have to notify the tournament if you want to play doubles.

THE CODE
In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow The Code. If you've never read it, please do so.

TRAINER
There will be a trainer on site at Burns Park Tennis Center during singles matches.

CONTACT INFORMATION
It is your responsibility to notify the referee of your most current contact information. The tournament will use the phone numbers or email address provided to TennisLink to notify you of the opportunity to enter. If you did not provide this info in Tennis Link, please email your contact info to gusstennis@gmail.com
ORDERED ALTERNATES REPORT:
This is the order alternates will replace any withdrawals from the main draw. (This report will be posted after selections.)
POINT OF NO RETURN:
If you have reached the "point of no return" for traveling, please be courteous and withdraw from the alternates list. We understand that some of you may not be able to come at a moments notice, even if a spot opens. As long as you are on the Alternates by Event Report, we assume you can still attend.
Replacing of Player Before Draw is Made:
The tournament committee shall replace a player who was accepted as part of a Section's quota with the next player on the Section's endorsement list. The tournament committee shall replace a player who was NOT accepted as part of a Section's quota with the next highest remaining alternate.
Replacing of Player After Draw is Made, but Before the Completion of the 1st Round:
The tournament committee shall replace a player after the draw is made, but before the completion of the 1st round with the next highet remaining alternate.
No Replacement of Players is Made After the Completion of the 1st Round:
No players are replaced in the draw after the completion of the 1st round. For example, a player who wins their 1st round, but cannot play their 2nd round due to injury, is NOT replaced with an alternate.
ENTRY FEE:
If you are offered a spot, you will need to provide your credit card information. Your acceptance is not final until the entry fee has been paid AND we have written confirmation by email that you accept the position. The entry fee is $81.13.
ON-SITE ALTERNATES :
On-Site alternates should check in during Mandatory Check-In on Friday from Noon until 5 to place your name on the On-Site list.
On Saturday, on-site alternaes will need to check with the Referee 30 minutes before the first match time so you will be ready should a spot become available.
If there is more than one on-site alternate, open spots will be filled according to the published ordered alternates list.

Level 1

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

Players are selected from a variety of National Lists and generally require Section endorsement.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, July 16, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
