Tuesday
Check the draws - always a few changes, sometimes mistakes in scores, etc. See you tomorrow!
|
Monday
Remember Monday is a work day (traffic!) and school is in session (more traffic on campus and tighter parking). Thanks for your patience with Saturday night's and Sunday morning's rainfall! Let us know if you see mistakes in the draw (they happen). See you tomorrow.
|
Sunday: 2 hour delay
We have started play and will be two hour delayed all day. So . . . matches scheduled for 8 am started at 10, 11 am matches will go at 1 pm, etc.
|
Sunday Draws Posted
Sunday's draws now posted. Monday's will be posted shortly. See you tomorrow! Note: There is a chance of rain overnight. We will update the weather phone (please do not call the on-site phone) 410 581-4760 at 6:15 a.m. and regularly afterward as needed. If you call it and it is busy, just try again - it means too many people are calling at once. We do not expect anything tomorrow more than a POSSIBLE morning delay.

Sunday Update #3
This is the second post-dinner update, a narrative of tomorrow that will be followed by updated times and scores. First, girls' consolations will be played as scheduled at 8 a.m. Second, the boys will play two rounds of consolations Sunday: The first round will be the completion of the round started this afternoon. As first written here, the consolation singles in progress Saturday afternoon will be played Sunday morning. The round scheduled originally for Sunday morning will move to the afternoon. Check exact times in a half hour or so. ALL doubles will be played AFTER singles. We will play two rounds: the first (which some started Saturday) and the second. MORE details in an hour or so.

Changes to the draw
Already happening, so, as noted below, check again - especially late Friday.
|
Draws
Singles draws are now posted for Saturday and Sunday. PLEASE understand that these MAY be tentative - there is always the chance of a withdrawal. So PLEASE check these draws again, especially Friday evening. As noted elsewhere, we will try to get a round of doubles in following the singles Saturday. VERY IMPORTANT information about directions, check-in, etc., is listed below. PLEASE read it carefully. Also, a signed waiver form is required for check-in before you can play.

Withdrawals and Contact Information
We have had some difficulty contacting accepted players because they did not enter contact info when they entered. If we cannot conact you, we will have to move to the next player. So if you are on the alternates list, it would not be a bad idea to email contact information to us at llevy@mcdonogh.org.

Check-in, Player Meeting, Start times, Practice Courts:
If it is not raining, players may practice at the McDonogh School courts after 3 p.m. and until dark Friday, May 15. We will have non-mandatory check-in on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the courts as well – to relieve the crush in the morning. We will not have any other activities Friday night (no players meeting or other activity).
On Saturday, girls’ singles will be scheduled first (from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.). Check-in will begin at 7 a.m. and there will be a brief players’ meeting at 7:30 a.m. on court A. Boys’ matches will begin at 10 a.m. Boys should check-in between 8:30 and 9:30, and we will have a second players’ meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the football stands next to the courts. These meetings are not mandatory but are strongly recommended. Note: The meetings are a good opportunity to find a last-minute doubles partner.
All twenty on-site courts will be available for practice Friday afternoon and each morning until 7:30 or 7:45 a.m. During the day, there will be three courts on site (# 16, 17 & 18) at all times for practice and, later in the day and later in the tournament, six or nine. Since we no longer have the courts at a nearby school available for practice, we ask you to limit your practice time – to as little as fifteen minutes – and share – with as many as four players per court. We have not had to resort to practice court sign-ups over the last six years, and hope to be able to avoid them this year as well.
For early morning arrivals, we remind you that we do have a concession building on site with coffee, bagels, full breakfasts, etc. They will be open all day with sandwiches, fruit, burgers and hot dogs, etc., etc.
|
Draws:
Draws will be made at McDonogh School Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Scheduling takes longer, but we will try to have the draws posted on line as soon as possible, hopefully early Thursday. Please note, we will have another tournament on site all this week (Monday through Thursday), so we’re busy!
|
Scheduling of Matches – and Doubles:
As noted elsewhere, doubles sign-up for girls will close at 10 a.m. Saturday, for boys 12 noon. We will try to get a round in on Saturday, two on Sunday, and the final two on Monday, but we cannot guarantee a Monday finish.
|
Tournament Updates!
All new information about check-in, first match times, etc., will be posted here and on our other web-site Saturday or Sunday. Please check for them!! Thanks - we're making some changes from last year. Also, we have been able to work on doubles a bit (didn't know if we'd have time: we have another tournament running Mon-Thu next week), so if you have requests, email them to us.

Contacting the Tournament
Best way to contact us is by email, especially since we have a big tournament this weekend and then one more before the 12s begin. Thanks! llevy@mcdonogh.org

Doubles
No need to sign up on line since we will have doubles sign up on site and will be asking those who signed up on line to confirm their intent to play and confirm or indicate their partner anyway. So no need to sign up now, tell us of your intentions before you get here, or tell us if you've changed your mind - we will just do it all here on site. NOTE: Tentative details - Doubles sign-up will close at TEN A.M. SATURDAY. Doubles will start Saturday afternoon. Draws will be posted as early Saturday afternoon as possible.
|
When Do I Play?
We alternate order of play every year, so this year girls will be scheduled first in each round, singles and doubles, including first round Saturday morning (so, no boys will play at 8 a.m. Saturday).
