Instructions for Finding and Confirming Doubles Partners
THE DOUBLES LIST OF PLAYERS LOOKING FOR A PARTNER HAS BEEN UPDATED AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE UPDATED EACH DAY AFTER 5 PM.
We will have doubles sign up when you get here. You will have until noon on Thursday Thanksgiving Day to find a partner and sign up. You must have a doubles partner at the doubles deadline. Please follow the direction listed below to confirm your doubles partnership or obtain contact information for other players who do not have a partner.

Mandatory Player and Parent Meeting
We will have check in on Wednesday evening Nov. 25 from 5-7 PM and the Player meeting will start at 7 PM. All player must be present as required by the USTA. Please be prepared to turn in your medical release at that time.

Temperature Range for Augusta GA in November
For the players that are coming from North of Augusta, you need to know that our temperatures range from Lows in the 40's to Highs in the 60's. Daytime temperatures will typically be in the mid 50's to mid 60's.

Author of "Bring Your Racquet" Tennis Basics for Kids
Steven will be here on Thursday and Friday to sign copies.
Steven White, a professional tennis instructor and former satellite tour player, is certified with the Professional Tennis Registry, the worlds’ largest international organization of tennis teachers and coaches. He is a life-long competitive player and enthusiast that’s been teaching tennis since the early 1980’s. Steven studied physical education with an emphasis in recreation while on an athletic scholarship at Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina, where he was the #1 player on the men’s tennis team. He later transferred to Coastal Carolina University near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he continued his education while teaching at the Myrtle Beach Tennis Club. Additional special training he has achieved includes Stroke Progressions, Corrective Techniques, Lesson & Practice Organization, Individual & Group Instruction, Singles & Doubles Tactics, Drill Organization, Practice Teaching , USTA Programming, Marketing Tennis, and Ball Feeding Techniques. All courses were completed at Van Der Meer Tennis University, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Steven is currently teaching at Hammond Park near Atlanta, Georgia.

Late Entries/ Alternate List
We will accept late entries.
But be advised that the boys draw is full and the alternate list has 16 waiting.
The Girls draw has 10 openings and we will accept late entries up to Nov. 18th at Noon. Players will be added as they come in.
Boys 12 Alternates: Players that entered before the deadline were ordered randomly as directed by the USTA. Late Entries will be placed at the end of the Alternated list in a random order.

Medical Release
a medical release is now required prior to playing any matches. parent or guardian must sign. please click on more info to download this form and bring it with you to registration. you can find the form at www.gatennis.com under junior competitive

Dress Code
the tournament committee has set a dress code in this tournament the rules to which all participants are expected to adhere. these rules are based on our community standards and all participants must observe, all rules, at all of the sites used during the tournament. good manners on and off the court will be required of all participants, coaches and family at all times.
proper tennis attire should be worn. for females, proper attire does not include, roll down waist bands on skirts or shorts, or exposure of skin between tops and skirts or shorts. for males proper attire does not include tank tops or sleeveless shirts, or shorts worn below the waist. shirts must be worn at all times. please respect our standards and adhere to our rules. failure to do so will result in the player being required to change prior to the match. this delay may result in penalties (pps) being assessed .

Withdrawing from Tournament
If you withdraw from the tournament before the entry deadline you will receive a full refund. AS per the USTA Friend at Court: withdrawing from the tournament after the enrty deadline, results in the loss of your entry fee.

Selections for Main Draw and Alternate Ordering
The USTA completed the selections based on the Oct. 29th National Standings. We will use the Nov. 18th Standings for Seeding. BOYS 12's: Alternates are orderd randomly based on the following. First the players that entered before the deadline are listed in a random order, followed by the late alternates that were orders randomly from the group that entered late. Any player that request to be placed on the atlernate list will be placed at the end of the list.GIRLS 12's: any player entering will be place in the draw prior to Nov. 18th.

Weather Related Issues
In the event of inclement weather: The appropriate governing body will be contacted and the scoring system may be altered. The tournament can not be extended because it is sanctioned through a specific date. We will update the tournament page with tournament updates. If you see not updates report to the scheduled site 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time.

Tournament Dinner
We will have dinner on Thursday evening at Ryan's Grill and Bakery. Each player will be given two tickets as part of their entry and additional tickets may be purchased for $10. Players and family may go to Ryan's after 3PM for Dinner.

Singles and Doubles Format
Singles: Singles will be a Full Feed in Consolation through the Quarter Finals play will be the Best of three Tiebreak sets with a 10pt match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set for the main draw and consolation.
Doubles will play a single elimination playing 8 game Pro Sets.
3 and 4 Playoff: will be held for both singles and doubles.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 29, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
