Scoring Changes for Monday
Mondays Matches: All Singles matches will be the Best of Two sets with a Match Tie-Break in lieu of the third set.
Singles: Main Draw will play two rounds Consolation will play three rounds
Doubles: Main Draw and Consolation will play one round

Tournament Schedule Update
Sundays times are up (please see draws). Times should be about the same as Saturdays original schedule.
NTC will close at 5 PM on Saturday.
NTC will open at 7 AM on Sunday.
We will start Doubles on Sunday after 4 PM.

Madatory Player Meeting
We will have our Madatory Player Meeting at 8:30 AM on Saturday Feb. 14. Players and parents need to be there as we will cover information that your will be required to know about this tournaments proceedures and operation. Play will start immediately after the meeting.

Doubles Announcement
If you are signing up for Doubles we expect you to stay and PLAY. The doubles event will be a Modified consolation, which means that if you lose in the first or second rounds of the doubles you will go into the back draw.

Doubles
Players that have not found a doubles partner have until Noon on Sat. Feb. 14th to sign up for doubles. We will pair players that sign up but do not have a partner. If there is an odd number of non-paired players we will randomly select teams and the odd person will not have a partner.
Doubles Formate Doubles will be a Modified Consolation. Teams that lose in the first and second rounds of the main draw will feed into the consolation. All matches will be an 8 game pro set.
Signing up for Doubles
If you are looking for a doubles partner and do not know other players we have a solution. If you send me an e-mail stating that I may share your e-mail address with other players I will compile a list and send it out. Players have until Noon on Friday January 30th to send in their e-mail to me. I will send out the addresses to all that respond on Monday Feb. 2. Send your confirmed doubles teams to the Tournament Director.

Weather Issues
Sat. 2 PM-- I am sorry to say that we are done for the day. We will have the tournament re-scheduled for Sunday by 3 PM today.
Sat. 12 Noon-- Yes it is still raining. We will update the tournament status at 2 PM today.
Sat. 7:30 AM-- Yes it rained at NTC but everyone is expected to attend the Mandatory Player Meeting at 8:30 AM. We will give everyone an update at the meeting.
In the event of inclement weather we may change to some type of alternate scoring. The final decision will come from the USTA national junior competition department.

Seeding Method
The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for this tournament. Refer to Table 17 in the 2009 Friend at Court for seeding criteria.

Dress Code
The tournament committee has set a dress code in this tournament the rules to which all participants are expected to adhere. These rules are based on our community standards and all participants must observe, all rules, at all of the sites used during the tournament. Good manners on and off the court will be required of all participants, coaches and family at all times.
Proper tennis attire should be worn. For males proper attire does not include tank tops or sleeveless shirts, or shorts worn below the waist. Shirts must be worn at all times. Please respect our standards and adhere to our rules. Failure to do so will result in the player being required to change prior to the match. This delay may result in penalties (pps) being assessed .

Alternates list
The alternates list has been adjusted according to the USTA. I used the wrong standings list initially and have now corrected the list by using the Jan. 14th standings list for the alternats list.
Ordered Alternate List. Effective January 1, 2009, a new procedure for ordering USTA National Open alternates was adopted as follows:
• Players in positions up to 600 from the National Standings List of the division used to select players into the tournament in the order in which their names appear on this List
• Players not already placed on the alternate list in positions up to 400 from the National Standings List of the next-younger division used to select players into the tournament in the order in which their names appear on this List
• Players not already placed on the alternate list whose names appear on the National Standings List of the division used to select players into the tournament in the order in which their names appear on this List
• Players not already placed on the alternate list whose names appear on the National Standings List of the next-younger division used to select players into the tournament in the order in which their names appear on this List and
• The remaining entrants in an order determined by lot.

Seedings / Draw / First Match Time Information
Seedings are now published. Draw will be made at Noon on Saturday Feb. 7 and published on Thursday Feb. 12th. First Match Times will be published on Tues Feb. 10th by 5 pm.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 15, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
