COMPETITOR and ALTERNATE LISTS and LATE ENTRANT INFO If you are near the top of this Alternate List, then you may want to give us your phone numbers - you can e-mail them. The "Alternate List" ( "Alternates by Event" ) is ordered by the 10-28'09 Standing Lists. (See below for ordering procedure.) Players will be called as openings occur. The most "recent" alternate list is the top one. Remember: Alternates have selected multiple sites, so the list may not be as long as it appears. The "Competitor List", located directly above, is the list of players selected for the tournament. This is the list that changes as players are withdrawn and then replaced. There is a "Late Entrant List" of players who missed the deadline. This list is not published, but the players on this list would appear at the bottom of the "Alternate List".
|

Late Entries
Late entries will be put at the bottom of the Alternate List, though their names will not be published. If you wish to be a "late entry", then you can e-mail or call us. It does not matter what your ranking is at the moment, you will go on the alternate list after the on-time applicants. Late entries are ordered by the time that the tournament received notification.

ON-SITE ALTERNATE PROCEDURES If you an alternate and have not been admitted by late Wednesday, November 25, then you can be an on-site alternate. Alternates must sign-in at the tournament desk no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match time of the event for which they are an alternate. If a default or withdrawal creates a vacancy in the draw, then the alternate who has signed-in and is highest on the alternate list will fill the vacancy. Alternates may play doubles even if they are not admitted to singles.
Effective January 1, 2009, the procedure for accepting on-site alternates into the draw was rewritten for clarification as follows: On each day in which alternates may be accepted into a draw, any alternate desiring admittance must check-in and be ready for play no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match time of the event for which they are an alternate. The order of the alternate list is based on the original Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more recent National Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in.
