TUESDAY UPDATE
IT IS 5:30PM AND ALL PLAY FOR TODAY HAS BEEN CANCELLED. ALL MATCHES THAT WERE IN PROGRESS ARE NOW SCHEDULED FOR 9AM WEDNESDAY MORNING. SOME PLAYERS HAVE PULLED OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT, SO PLEASE CHECK THE DRAWS. THE TIMES FOR WEDNESDAY WILL BE POSTED BY 6:30PM TUESDAY EVENING. WE WILL BE USING A 10 POINT MATCH TIE BREAK IN LIEU OF A 3RD SET IN THE BOYS' AND GIRLS' 14 SINGLES. SOME MATCHES MAY BE MOVED TO ONE OF THE ALTERNATE SITES, DEPENDING ON COURT AVAILABILITY. MANDATORY CHECK-IN AT THE CLAREMONT CLUB
ALL PLAYERS MUST TURN IN THERE MEDICAL WAIVERS AND SIGN A CLAREMONT CLUB WAIVER PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST MATCH. THIS CHECK-IN IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 13, 2009 BETWEEN 2PM-6PM AND SATURDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2009 BETWEEN 7:15 AM-12NOON. ALL PLAYERS MUST GO THROUGH THIS CHECK-IN DURING ONE OF THESE DESIGNATED TIMES. If YOU ARE CHECKING IN ON SATURDAY MORNING PLEASE LEAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GO THROUGH THIS TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN AND STILL HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE IT TO YOUR MATCH ON TIME. There will be matches scheduled as early as 9am on Saturday. Players who have their first scheduled matches at alternate sites or later in the day must still check-in at the Claremont Club during on of these designated times. (All alternate sites are with in a 5 minute drive of the Claremont Club.) Players will be given a player ID and their tournament t-shirt at this time. Players must show their tournament ID to show that they have turned in their medical waiver. Thank you for your cooperation.

MEDICAL WAVERS
ALL PLAYERS MUST TURN IN A MEDICAL WAIVER SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN IN ORDER TO PLAY IN THIS EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! YOU MAY DOWN LOAD A MEDICAL RELEASE FORM AT THE USTA WEB SITE.

DOUBLES ENTRY/FORMAT
All players wishing to play double must sign-in ON SITE at The Claremont Club, even if you have signed up on line. Sign-in will be open during player check-in Friday 2/13/09 from 2pm-6pm and Saturday 2/14/09 from 7:15am-12pm(noon). The tournament committee will attempt to pair players who sign-up without partners. The doubles matches will likely begin Sunday 2/15/09.
All doubles matches will be an 8 game pro-set with a match tie-break at 8-all.

TOURNAMENT HOTEL:
THE SHERATON ONTARIO AIRPORT 429 N. Vineyard Ave. Onatario CA, 91764 is the designated tournament hotel. They are offering a special tournament rate of $93.00 per room,or $99.00 which includes an american breakfast buffet. To recieve this special rate please make your reservations by February 9, 2009. You may phone 909 937-8000, or 800 582-2946 mention that you are calling about the Claremont Club USTA national open. Shuttle service from the hotel to the Claremont Club will be available on a scheduled sign-up basis.

The main tournament site is The Claremont Club designated as TCC on the draws. The alternate sites are all with-in a 5 minute drive of the Claremont Club. They are as follows: The Upland Tennis club 1525 W 15th st. Upland CA, 91786 designated as UTC on the draws. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tennis facility 500 E 9th st. Claremont CA, 91711 designated as CMSN on the draws, and Pomona Pitzer College tennis courts 6th and College Way, Claremont, CA 91711 designated as PPC on the draws

Ontario International Airport is located approximately 10 miles from the Claremont Club, Orange county John Wayne airport is located approximately 40 miles from the Claremont club, LAX is located approximately 50 miles from the Claremont club.

Seeding Method
The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used for the tournament. Refer to Table 17 in "2009 Friend at Court" for the seeding criteria.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 15, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
