Nike Junior Tour (NJT):
The Nike Junior Tour (NJT) is a worldwide series of junior singles tournaments for Boy’s and Girls in the 12 and 14 age groups. There are currently 22 countries participating in the NJT, representing over 60,000 players. Former NJT International Masters players include Rafal Nadal who won the event three times for Spain. The winner(s) of the USTA Sectional Championships will be invited to compete at the NJT USA National Masters, September 12-14 2008 at Stanford University CA. Nike provides round trip transportation, food and lodging for the Sectional winner(s) (B14, B12, G14, G12) plus one team coach. The NJT USA National Masters winners go on to play in the NJT International Masters. Expenses for the International Masters are paid for by Nike.
Nike Prizes are awarded to the Sectional Championship winners, finalist, 3rd 4th and the consolation winner and finalist.
AGE ELIGIBILITY: NJT USA play leads to the NJT International Masters where 22 countries participate. Therefore, to be eligible for the NJT USA National Masters and the NJT International Masters, players must meet the ITF (International Tennis Federation) age eligibility cutoff date of December 31. Example: If you are currently 12, but will turn 13 on or before December 31, 2008, you may play in the Section Championship in the 12's but WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE to compete in the 12’s at the NJT National Masters at Stanford or the International Masters in Italy. Players should consider the ITF eligibility to determine which age group to enter if they want to be eligible to go on to the NJT USA National Masters or International Masters.
