NC Junior Clay Court State Open Championships NC L2

Players are responsible for obtaining their correct match times, including time changes. Due to numerous injury withdrawals and additions of alternate players, many match schedules are being changed. Please check your times before coning to the tournament. We will attempt to contact you with changes, however, it is still the players responsibility to obtain match times.

Olde Providence Racquet Club is the HEADQUARTERS for this tournament. All matches are scheduled for play on the 27 clay courts at OPRC, but other clay court clubs may be used in case of rain. Olde Providence Racquet Club has a new clubhouse, a new main club entrance and a new address. The club is on the same historic 55 acre campus where it originated in 1962, but our new entrance will take you to the new 16,500 sq. ft. clubhouse. The new club address is 5630 Sharon View Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. The new entrance is just 1/3 mile west of the old club entrance. The entrances are clearly marked. Please be aware that TRAFFIC in CHARLOTTE can be a problem. Please give yourself plenty of time to get to the courts. All players must check in at Olde Providence Racquet Club prior to your first match, regardless of the location of your first match. Please account for enough time to check in and travel if needed.

Because all tournament matches are scheduled for play at Olde Providence Racquet Club, the DRAWS currently do not indicate a code for match location. In case of rain we may have to play some matches at locations in addition to OPRC. In that case, the match times on the DRAWS will include a code for match location. Here are those codes: OPRC=Olde Providence Racquet Club; JCC= Jewish Community Center; QH=Quail Hollow Country Club; RTC=Russell Tennis Center. Directions to each of these alternate match locations are listed below on this page.

Due to the size of draws, warm up courts will be limited to the HARD COURTS. Please check with the TOURNAMENT DESK if you have questions.

At PLAYER REGISTRATION, each player will be given a ticket good for the Monday, Aug. 6 catered BBQ PLAYER LUNCH at Olde Providence Racquet Club from 12-1 PM and a ticket good for the Tuesday, Aug. 7 PLAYER ICE CREAM PARTY at OPRC from 1-3 PM. The PLAYER LUNCH will be catered by Bojangles, tournament Presenting Sponsor. The menu: pork BBQ, cole slaw, mac 'n cheese, sweet tea and buns. ALSO...each day during the tournament the CLUBHOUSE GRILL and the POOL DELI CAFE will be open for lunchtime business with a menu of salads, burgers, grilled chicken, hot dogs and drinks. Players, parents and coaches can pay cash at the CLUBHOUSE GRILL on the front porch of the new OPRC Clubhouse or at the POOL DELI CAFE.

Additional clay court tournament sites may be used for this tournament, depending on entry total. If your match is listed as JCC, that means you are scheduled to play at the Jewish Community Center of Charlotte. Remember---you must first check in at Olde Providence Racquet Club prior to your first match, even if you are playing at JCC. Directions to JCC from OPRC; exit OPRC and turn right on Sharon View Road. Continue on Sharon View Road for approx. 1/3 mile to the signal light at Old Providence Road. Turn left onto Old Providence Road. Continue for approx. 0.8 mile to the signal light at Providence Road. Turn left onto Providence Road. Continue on Providence Road approx. 0.8 mile, then turn right into the JCC. Follow signs to the outdoor clay court tennis facility.

Additional clay court tournament sites may be used for this tournament, depending on entry total. If your match is listed as QH, that means you are scheduled to play at the Quail Hollow Country Club. Remember---you must first check in at Olde Providence Racquet Club prior to your first match, even if you are playing at Quail Hollow. Directions to Quail Hollow from OPRC; exit OPRC and turn left on Sharon View Road. Continue on Sharon View Road for approx. 1/2 mile to the signal light at Carmel Road Road. Turn left onto Carmel Road. Continue to the signal light at Glenn Eagles. Turn right onto Glenn Eagles. Continue on Glenn Eagles, then turn left into the Quail Hollow. Follow signs to the outdoor clay court tennis facility.

Additional clay court tournament sites may be used for this tournament, depending on entry total. If your match is listed as RTC, that means you are scheduled to play at the Russell Tennis Center. Remember---you must first check in at Olde Providence Racquet Club prior to your first match, even if you are playing at the Russell Tennis Center. Directions to Russell Tennis Center from OPRC; exit OPRC and turn right on Sharon View Road. Continue on Sharon View Road for approx. 1/3 mile to the signal light at Old Providence Road. Turn left onto Olde Providencr Road. Continue to the signal light at Providence Road. Turn left onto Providence Road. Continue on Providence Road for 1/10 mile, then turn right onto Sardis Lane. Continue on Sardis Lane for LESS THAN 1/10 mile. Club is on the left before you get to the Fire Station.

SINGLES format is best of 2 tie-break sets with a 10 point tiebreak in lieu of third set. DOUBLES format will be 8 game pro set each round.

The tournament will utilize the Modified Feed-In Consolation format in SINGLES. If you lose in the first OR second round in SINGLES, you will play in the consolation bracket. There will be NO CONSOLATION BRACKETS IN DOUBLES.

Please note that the entry fees include a non-refundable processing fee.

If, for any reason, you decide to withdraw from this tournament prior to the entry deadline, you must go online to withdraw, using the same TennisLink site you used to enter the tournament. Entry fees will not be refunded after the tournament entry deadline.
