Notes
The host hotel for the championship is the Clarion Hotel. You
may contact the Clarion Hotel at 417/883-6550. Be sure and mention
the USTA Boys and Girls 12's National Open Championship to receive
a $58.00 room rate per night. All players will need to check-in at
the Cooper Tennis Complex on Friday between 5:00pm-6:30pm. A map
will be available by clicking on the tournament website located
above after May 2. A mandatory player meeting will be hosted at the
Cooper Tennis Complex from 6:45pm to 7:15pm on Friday. All players
are encouraged to attend (parents are encouraged to attend as
well). Players will be given their Saturday start times at the
mandatory meeting. Match play is tentatively set to begin on
Saturday at 9:00am. The format for play is the best of three
tiebreak sets with a match tie-break (10 points) in place of the
3rd set. The doubles format will be an eight game pro-set with a
match tie-break (10 points) at 8 games all. An hour pre-drill
session will begin Friday at 7:30pm on the outdoor courts at the
Cooper Tennis Complex. There will be no instruction, or one-on-one
competition during the session. The pre-drill session is a great
opportunity for players to get familiar with the tennis courts and
meet other players. Lots of drills and games will be played. On May
2, 2006, on-line registration for the drill session will open. The
cost is $20.00 on-line (you will be able to click on the tournament
website above after May 1); if space is still available after May
15 players may sign up for $25.00 at registration. Limited space is
available. Click on the tournament website to register. Pre-drill
registration will close on May 15! A player dinner will be hosted
at the Cooper Tennis Complex on Sunday. All tournament players may
eat free. Parents may purchase a dinner ticket for $7.00 at player
registration.
