Players who do not attend the Friday evening Player Meeting are solely responsible for understanding all of the information that will be provided in the Player Packet at check-in... NO EXCUSES! As a reminder - if you are NOT playing doubles, please e-mail Wendy at franz@midlandtennis.com so that we can open up spots for other players. If you want to play doubles and do not yet have a partner, the Player Meeting on Friday evening is your last chance to try and pair up. PLAYER MEETING
A Player Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1. We strongly encourage all players to attend the meeting, but it is only mandatory if you are playing doubles and do not have a partner. Friday night will be the last chance to pair up for doubles - doubles play will begin Saturday afternoon. Players attending the Friday night meeting can check-in from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. All other players must check-in at least one-half hour prior to their first scheduled match time.

PRACTICE COURTS
The tennis center has 16 outdoor and 16 indoor courts. All play will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Outdoor practice courts will be avaiable starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, and each morning prior to play on a first-come, first served basis (outdoor courts cannot be reserved). Additonal outdoor practice courts are located near the tennis center (locations and directions will be provided upon check-in). Indoor courts can be reserved with a credit card for $15.00 per hour (not available until 4:00 p.m. on Friday). INDOOR COURT CANCELLATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED AT LEAST ONE HOUR IN ADVANCE OR PLAYERS WILL BE CHARGED THE FULL RATE.

WARM-UP SESSION/HITTING PARTNERS
Pro supervised warm-up sessions (warm-up, stretching, hitting, light point play) will be run on the following days: Friday, July 1 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 2 through Tuesday, July 5 from 6:45 - 7:45 a.m. Cost is $10 per player when signed up the day before, $15 per player if *drop-in the day of (*space may be limited). Players may also schedule hitting sessions with one of our USPTA pros at the rate of $42.00 per hour. Please call Kevin Brandalik, USPTA, Director of High Performance, at 989-631-6151, extension 124.

PLAYER DRESS CODE
PLAYERS - The following dress code will be enforced for this tournament. Please be prepared to dress accordingly. BOYS - No tank tops or shirts that refer to drugs, alcohol, or tobacco related products. Boxers must not show above or below shorts. GIRLS - No spaghetti straps. The bottom of the shirt must meet the top of shorts or skirt when arms are at rest (throughout the entire match).

ON-SITE ALTERNATES
ON-SITE ALTERNATES: If you want to be an on-site alternate you must check-in at the Tournament Desk on the morning of Saturday, July 2. Girls need to check-in by 7:30 a.m. Boys need to check-in by 9:30 a.m.

ARE YOU PLAYING DOUBLES?
If you already have a doubles partner, please e-mail Wendy at franz@midlandtennis.com with your partner's name. Players who do not have a doubles partner: look over the Competitors List and try to find a doubles partner. Please e-mail Wendy if you find one. All players without partners will need to attend the Friday night player meeting (Friday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m.). This will be your last chance to pair up for doubles. Doubles play will begin on Saturday afternoon. SINGLES DRAW PLAYERS WHO DO NOT PLAN TO PLAY DOUBLES... PLEASE E-MAIL WENDY SO THAT WE KNOW TO OPEN UP A DOUBLES SPOT FOR ANOTHER PLAYER. THANK YOU!

SCHEDULE OF PLAY
Match play will begin on the morning of Saturday, July 2. The tentative schedule of play for that day is as follows: Round of 64 for boys and girls singles, Round of 32 and Round of 16 for boys and girls doubles.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries will be accepted, however, those players will be placed at the end of the alternate list in the order received. Please call Wendy Franz at 989-631-6151.

WITHDRAWAL INSTRUCTIONS
All withdrawal requests must be sent in writing by e-mail to Wendy Franz, Tournament Director (franz@midlandtennis.com) and must include player name, the event you are withdrawing from, and the reason for your withdrawal. Early withdrawals (for a bona fide reason) will be issued a refund after the completion of the tournament. No refunds will be made for players withdrawing after Friday, June 24.

The Holiday Inn of Midland is our host hotel. The special rate of $68.00 per night includes a hot breakfast. Located approximately one mile from the tennis center. Driving Directions from I-75
Take I-75 to US 10 West. Continue on US 10 West (approximately 15 minutes) to the Eastman Ave. exit (the Eastman Ave. exit is the 2nd Midland exit – DO NOT take the first exit from this direction or you will end up downtown and it is very easy to get lost). At the stopsign, turn left onto Eastman Ave. The first intersection is Wackerly St. Turn left on Wackerly. Go through the Jefferson Rd. intersection and the tennis center is approximately ½ mile down on the right.

Driving Directions from US 27
US 27 to US 10 East. Continue on US 10 East (approximately 30 minutes) to the Eastman Avenue exit. At the exit stoplight, turn left (this is Wackerly Street). Go through the Eastman Avenue and Jefferson Road intersections and the Midland Community Tennis Center is approximately ½ mile down on the right. 900 East Wackerly Street.

Driving Directions from M-20
M-20 to Business 10 (follow signs). Go over bridge, continue straight until you come to the “T”. At the “T”, turn left (Indian Street, and you can only turn left). This street curves into Eastman Avenue. Continue on Eastman Avenue until you come to Wackerly Street (before the US-10 overpass). Take a right onto Wackerly Street, go through the Jefferson Road intersection, and the Midland Community Tennis Center is approximately ½ mile down on the right. 900 East Wackerly Street.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

Players are selected from a designated Section or District ranking list.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 9, 2005 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
