REGISTRATION:
All players must register for the tournament prior to playing their first match. Registration will take place only at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Registration hours are Friday, May 13th from 4:30 to 6:30PM and resume following the Players' Meeting (scheduled for 6:30 PM) thru 7:30 PM and Saturday, May 14th from 7:00am-12:00 noon. After the initial registration, players should check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match at the assigned sites. When a player checks in, it means that she s/he is ready to play.

SITES AND PRACTICE COURTS:
John Drew Smith Tennis Center and Mercer Un. will be used for play and open at 7:00 am each day. Courts are available for warm-up until 7:30 am. Macon State College and Mercer Un. (after Sat.) courts are available for practice.Tattnall Tennis Center will not be available Friday - Sunday due to a local tournament scheduled.
Courts at JDS will be available Friday for practice from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM. You must check-in at the inside front desk and pay court fees (per person). There is a backboard court available @ JDS.

ON SITE ALTERNATES:
On Site Alternates must inform the Referee in person they are on-site. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On Site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play.

WITHDRAWALS:
Players withdrawing within 7 days of the tournament start date will not be refunded the entry fee. All withdrawals must be sent in writing by E-mail to maconleagues@bellsouth.net to the attention of Donna Bailey, the referee.

FORMAT:
Singles: There will be a singles draw of 64 with a mandatory feed-in championship through the quarters. Only the top three (3) finishers qualify for the National Clay Court Championships.
Singles Match Format: Play will be best two out of three full sets, with set tiebreaks when/if necessary. This format is subject to change in the event of inclement weather, in which case a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set may be played.
Doubles: There will be a doubles draw of 32. Alternates who do not get into singles will be eligible to play doubles, space permitting. On-line doubles registration is perfectly acceptable; however, for the players’ convenience, sign-up for doubles shall remain open until noon on Saturday, May 14th, and may be done in-person at the time of check-in. Players without a designated partner will be paired with another player. Doubles play will begin on Sunday, May 15th. The champions and finalists qualify for the National Clay Court Championships.
Doubles match format: Doubles matches will be eight (8) game pro-sets with a tiebreak if necessary at
8 -all.

PLAYERS' MEETING
There will be a Players' Meeting scheduled for Friday, May 13th , 6:30 PM at John Drew Smith (JDS) Tennis Center. Sub sandwiches and punch will be provided! Families and coaches are encouraged to attend. There will be drawings for prizes for the meeting attendees!

MEDICAL RELEASE
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This must be presented at the time of tournament registration. PLEASE Download and bring this COMPLETED form with you or fax it to us (478-477-0575) to speed up the registration process. PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON-COURT WITHOUT THIS SIGNED RELEASE! more info

DRILLS AND LESSONS:
Tournament Warm-up Drills are scheduled for Friday @ 6:00 PM, Saturday @ 7:00AM, 8:00AM, 12:00 Noon and 6:00 PM, Sunday and Monday @7:00 AM, 8:00 AM and 12 Noon. The cost is $12.00. To sign-up, participants must register @ www.macontennisconnect.org or call 478- 474-5075 to schedule.
