Match Formats
Singles Main Draw & Singles Consolation & 5/6 play-off - Best of 2 sets with a "match tie break" to 10 in lieu of a third set. (Singles Finals & 3/4 playoff will play a best of 3 tie-break sets) Doubles - 6 game set (Ad-Scoring) with a 7 point tie break at 6 games all (First to 7 by 2) There will be a 3/4 playoff for doubles.

Doubles will start off each day.

On Site Alternate
If you would like to come sign up as an on site alternate, please show up to Lakewood Tennis Center on Saturday April 20th, one half hour before the start of the Singles first round. We will take alternates in the order on the alternate list.

Recording or your Tennis Match!!!
All matches played at Lakewood Tennis Center will be recorded in HD.
The recordings, in MP4 format will be available for purchase by
tournament competitors at a moderate cost. This is a great service which
can be used as a developmental tool to move your game ahead or simply
as a historical archive of your matches. Check in at the Pro Shop to
find out how to order yours.

Courtyard Marriott Long Beach Airport
The Courtyard Marriott Long Beach Airport is the closest to the tournament site. The
brand new hotel is located at 3841 N. Lakewood Blvd. Long Beach, CA
90808. Located less than a mile from the Lakewood Tennis Center. Because in the past I have never been able to get enough room nights (as most players are from So. Cal.) I was not able to get a discounted tournament rate. there are many other choices around the Lakewood/Long Beach area. Just on online to find the best deals.

The Long Beach airport is 2 miles from the playing site. Los Angeles is about 22 miles as is Orange County airports.

Dress Code
The Lakewood Tournament and all officials of this event
would like to inform the players of our expectations of proper attire while
competing in this tournament.
GIRLS: No sports bras or compression shorts are to be worn alone; midriff must
be covered when arms are at rest, and spandex shorts must be covered by
additional shorts or skirt.
BOYS: No cut off t-shirts, or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis shirts may be
worn. No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or foul language may be
depicted on player attire.

Withdrawals and Entry Fee Refunds at USTA National Junior National Tournaments
Refunds After entries Close. The Tournament Committee is responsible for all entry fee refunds after the entries close. A Tournament Committee is only required to refund a player's entry fee if: The entry is not accepted; or the withdrawal is for previously authorized entry into another tournament. In all other cases (such as withdrawals for illness, injury or personal circumstances), there is no refund.

DOUBLES
AFTER THE SELECTION PROCESS I WILL WANT EACH PLAYER WHO IS INTERESTED IN DOUBLES TO EMAIL ME THEIR DOUBLES PARTNER. EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SIGNED UP ONLINE WHEN YOU ENTERED EVENT, I STILL WANT TO GET AN EMAIL FROM YOU VERIFYING YOUR PARTNER. DOUBLES WILL START THE FIRST DAY OF THE EVENT. THE DEADLINE TO LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE PLAYING DOUBLES WILL BE APRIL 15TH. ONE WEEK AFTER THE DEADLINE I WILL SEND OUT LISTS OF PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOT EMAILED ME THEIR DOUBLES PARTNER. PLEASE ALSO EMAIL ME IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO PLAY DOUBLES.

Practice Courts
A listing of tennis courts is provided here under "more info" (high schools & college courts may not be open for public play) Lakewood Tennis Center will open one hour before the start of play each day for practice. As doubles is being played first each day, everyone should be able to practice. After doubles players will be able to practice at Lakewood Tennis as courts become available. Best to schedule practice off site.

In the early rounds there will be a 4:1 - Player to Umpire ratio. Matches chaired will be the singles finals & 3/4 playoff & the doubles finals.

Deadline to choose which event - Tuesday April 2nd
Players who are selected into more than one event have until Tuesday, April 2nd 5 pm Pacific Time to decide what event you are going to stay in. After that, you could be penalized for being in two events at the same time. (Also, no refunds after this)

LEVEL 3 NATIONAL EVENT
THIS IS A 32 PLAYER DRAW. TOP 32 PLAYERS ENTERED FROM THE NATIONAL STANDING LIST WILL BE SELECTED.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES AND SELECTION PROCESS
Players may choose ONE of the following options, but NOT
both:
OPTION 1: Enter any ONE (1) division of TWO (2) concurrent USTA National Level
3 Tournaments (this may be a different division in each tournament)
OPTION 2: Enter TWO (2) divisions of ONE (1) USTA National Level 3 Tournament
Players may PLAY in only ONE division of ONE tournament. Players who register
for three (3) or more events will be given 5 suspension points and will only be
selected into a maximum of two events.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PLAYERS WHO ARE ACCEPTED INTO ONE EVENT AT THE TIME OF
SELECTION ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THE ALTERNATE LIST OF ANOTHER EVENT. WE URGE
PLAYERS TO ONLY SIGN UP FOR EVENTS THEY WOULD PLAY IF ACCEPTED.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, March 28, 2019 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
