NEW BALANCE HIGHSCHOOL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP:
The New Balance High
School Tennis Championship is a tournament for the best interscholastic tennis
players in the country and will be held at Weil Academy in Ojai, CA from July
24-27, 2017. All entrants MUST have participated on their respective varsity
high school teams during the 2016-17 school year. On July 27th the
tournament will honor one boy and one girl as the New Balance High School
Tennis Champion. There are no National or Sectional
USTA points awarded for this tournament, results from this tournament will be
imported into the UTR system (see Selection Process & Seeding below). This
is a national-level event that is listed on the USTA National Schedule.

LOCATION – WEIL ACADEMY & OJAI VALLEY ATHLETIC CLUB:
Weil Tennis Academy is
located in the heart of beautiful Southern California and adjacent to the Ojai
Valley Athletic Club. Besides having 6
championship courts of its own, Weil Academy has the privilege to share the use
of OVAC facilities, a 10-acre, world-class, tennis and fitness training
facility. The two facilities combined have 18 championship tennis courts: 16
hard courts and 2 clay courts, including 3 stadium-style courts. OVAC also boasts two full gyms, a lap pool,
recreational pool, sauna, Jacuzzis, beach volleyball court, yoga, spinning,
Pilates, aerobic classes, and locker rooms. Each player and two (2) family members
will have access to Ojai Valley Athletic Club’s facilities throughout the week.

registration will begin on Sunday, July 23rd, at Weil Academy,
beginning at 3pm.

Directions
from LAX: Get on I-405 N from Vicksburg Ave, S Sepulveda Blvd and
Howard Hughes Pkwy (3.8 mi). Follow I-405 N, US-101 N and CA-33 N to Creek Rd
in Ventura County (74.8 mi). Continue on Creek Rd. Drive to Bryant Cir in Ojai.

PRACTICE COURTS:
On Sunday, July 23rd,
practice courts will be available at Weil Academy and nearby Libbey Park,
starting at 3pm. Throughout the
tournament, practice courts will be available at both Weil Academy, between
6am-7:30am (first come basis) and at Libbey Park, between 8AM-5PM.
Libbey Park is located
just minutes away from Weil Academy via the Ojai Valley Trail.

SELECTION PROCESS & SEEDING:
The most readily
available and effective ratings system along with fair geographic distribution
will be used to determine the selections. Seeding for this tournament will be
based on the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) system. Results from this tournament

TROPHIES & AWARDS:
Custom Trophies will be
presented to the Main Draw Champion and Finalist. Sportsmanship awards will
also be presented to one boy and one girl.

NIGHTLY ACTIVITIES & EVENTS:
On Monday and Tuesday night, we will be
hosting fun players’ only events that will include giveaways, dinner, and will
also be supervised by Tournament Staff. Wednesday, there will be an appearance
by an NB Tennis Ambassador which parents, family members and town residents are
invited to.
We will be hosting a Parent’s ‘Meet and
Greet’ at the Topa Mountain Winery in Ojai, Monday night. More

TBA ---COLLEGE COACH FORUM
New Balance High School
Championship will be hosting a College Coaches Forum, with college coaches from
around the US, where players and parents can ask questions on the college
recruitment process. This will be taking place twice on Wednesday throughout
the day.

HOSPITALITY & LUNCH
Player lunches will be
provided daily. Parents and family members can purchase lunch on-site as well.
|
STRINGING:
Racket stringing will be
provided on-site.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to USTA Members, USTA Members who have an expired membership and Non-USTA Members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, July 5, 2017 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time.
