Tuesday 9:15 am Update: Due to freezing temperatures South Beach courts are iced over and closed. If you are scheduled for SBEAC report to VAN DER MEER TENNIS CENTER (19 Deallyon Ave). All matches scheduled at SBEAC are now being played at VDM Tennis Center. Any changes or delays due to weather will be posted here. Please do not call or email when weather occurs, check here for detailed information.

Please check the draw after 8 p.m. Monday evening for official match times. Times posted prior to 8 p.m. may change, we have had some withdraws and court additions that may effect the start times. Consolation matches Tuesday will play 2/3 short-sets (4 games) with a match tie-break for third.

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.

Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must fax or email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is reggie@vdmtennis.com. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds after the registration deadline.

Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show and will accumulate suspension points. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.

Van Der Meer Tennis Academy is offering a discounted rate to all tournament participants for sessions. Training sessions will be available all week at VDM. Morning practice sessions are from 10:00am—noon at $25 per session. Afternoon Sessions run from 3:00—6:00 at $35 per training. Mandatory means just that. REGISTRATION CHECK IN 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday.This registration will take place at in the Green room at the Van Der Meer Shipyard location (inside Shipyard Plantation). The Green room is located off the patio in front of the indoor courts. You will receive a tournament packet that will include directions to all the sites and practice courts and restaurant discounts.

For those of you that "just can't make it," please follow these instructions: DO NOT CALL! Follow these instructions so you will not be replaced in the draw.

1 - Make sure your entry fee has been paid!! (No pay - no play)
2 - Email or Fax in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed to 843-785-7032
3- Come to the main site on Saturday to register - only the SHIPYARD site will have registration on Saturday morning. You must register before your first match or you will not be guaranteed a player gift. (Players do not have to register, parents or guardians may register them).
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.
4 - On Saturday, beginning at 7:15 AM, we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). We will only register players at the main site: SHIPYARD. If this causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers. Thank you for your cooperation.

This is a four (4) day tournament - Saturday thru Tuesday. Draw size will be 128 with players taken right off the Southern Standings List of the age division in question. Players from the lower will NOT be considered based on lower division standing.

LUNCH will be provided for ALL PLAYERS on Saturday beginning at Noon at all sites - PIZZA By PAPA JOHN'S

USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament registration. The Format of Play for Singles is a 128 Draw, Full Feed-In Consolation through the Round of 16, with Quarterfinal Playoffs and a 3rd/4th Playoff in the Main Draw. Last round of consolation will be Quarterfinals. The Scoring for Main Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Full Sets. Consolation Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Sets, with a 10 pt match Tie Break used in lieu of a full 3rd set, if necessary. The Format of Play for Doubles is a 64 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff. The Scoring for Doubles is an 8-game Pro-Set. ALL PLAYERS IN THE SEMIFINALS OF SINGLES and DOUBLES WILL PLAY AGAIN, EITHER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR THE 3rd/4th POSITION!

SEEDING will be done with the current Southern Standing list and Seeding calculator. Players who are in top 10 of Southern 16s are eligible for seeding in the 18s.

We will have a trainer full time at the Shipyard VDM site throughout the weekend.

Doubles will begin on Saturday morning at 8 AM. One round of Doubles will be played before and after Singles on Sunday and Monday. [Tentative]. Doubles draw is single elimination.
• Singles Finals, 3/4 Playoff, Consolation Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, Quarterfinal Consolation Finals, and Doubles Finals and 3/4 Playoff will be played on Tuesday.
*** The singles tournament format is Full Feed-in through the ROUND OF 16 with a Quarterfinal Losers Consolation draw.
*** Quarter final main draw losers have a separate draw and don’t feed-in to the initial consolation bracket.
*** Losers in the main draw Round of 16 (Sunday afternoon) may not play until Tuesday morning. [The reason for this “holdover” is main draw is playing 2 rounds on Sunday and this creates a situation where losers of the 2nd match of the day have no one to play until 2 rounds of consolation have been played on Monday.]
*** Consolation Singles Draws will not be played out completely

Practice courts are available first come, first serve at each site between 7-7:45 a.m.

You can also use the Hilton Head Middle School (4 courts). (55 Wilborn Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926)
or Chaplin Park (Off of 278). Both are public facilities and are first come, first serve.

When leaving Van Der Meer Shipyard take a left and follow Shipyyard Drive to the round-a-bout. Take the first right in the round-a-bout (Shipyard Road) and this will lead you through Shipyard Plantation. After exiting the Main Gate, take a right at the light onto Business 278 WEST (Up Island). Palmetto Dunes will be the next plantation on your right. After driving 1.5 miles, the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center will be on the left. Look for the sign.

Special Instructions for (CENT) Centre court (843-785-1152): If your designated site is Centre Court you don’t need a car pass-- just inform the guard at the South Gate inside Palmetto Dunes that you have a match at Centre Court. Proceed through the gate and take first right on Carnoustie. Three driveways on the right is the parking lot to Centre Court. DO NOT PARK on side of street or grassy areas in Palmetto Dunes Resort. You will be ticketed!

From the Van Der Meer Shipyard courts, exit through the main gate of Shipyard. Turn left onto route 278 business. You will reach a traffic circle where you will take the second exit onto Greenwood Drive. When you come to the gate at Sea Pines enter the lane marked for visitors and tehll the gate guard that you are there for the tennis tournament. From the Sea Pines gate, take Greenwood Drive - all the way to the inner circle. Take the 2nd exit off of this circle. You will still be on Greenwood Drive, headed to South Beach. Follow Greenwood until it dead ends into South Sea Pines Drive. Go right at the stop sign. Stay on South Sea Pines Drive for about 2 miles. The South Beach Racquet Club will be on the right just before you reach the South Beach Marina Village (Salty Dog Cafe).

From Interstate 95, take Exit 8. Ignore other Hilton Head exit signs as this is the most direct route to the Island. From Exit 8, go East on Hwy 278 (Approx 17 miles) until you reach the Hilton Head Island bridge. Continue East on Highway 278 until you reach the Cross Island Expressway. The toll is $1.25, which is worth the price in time, gas, and traffic lights. After passing through the toll booth and crossing the Broad Creek bridge, you will be on Plalmetto Bay Road. Follow this road through two traffic lights and be in the left lane as you approach the Sea Pines Traffic circle. Travel through the traffic circle and exit onto Hwy 278 William Hilton Parkway. The entrance to Shipyard Plantation will be on your right.

Players are cautioned not to enter two tournaments at the same time. Suggestions to avoid being penalized: If you are listed on the Alternate List, you must with-draw from the Alternate List first and then enter the 2nd Tournament. Tournaments have been assigned different deadlines that will allow you time to make your changes. You can receive suspension points for entering two tournaments at the same time. All withdrawals: Alternates and Players must be in writing to the Head Referee. IT IS THE PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEY HAVE BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM A TOURNAMENT.
