The 8 am doubles matches are delayed 30 minutes. No change in singles times. Time will be allowed for doubles players in 9:30 Singles if necessary.

First match times are posted above under Tournament Reports. Look closely at the DAY and SITE as well as the TIME!!

As you already know, everyone must have a signed "Parent" medical release form at check-in. You can print one from the Internet or just fill one out when you check in. DON'T MAIL, or fax, the release to us. To print a form, click "more info"

Players may enter only one age division of the Southern Closed Winter Championships. If a player enters this tournament (BG 12's) that is the only division they can enter. They can't try to play in any other age division.

Registration for the tournament will be at John Drew Smith Tennis Center, 3280 North Ingle Drive, Macon GA 31210.
Friday -- 4 pm until 7pm
Saturday - 6:45am-until, you can check one at least hour before schdeuled match time.

The tournament will be using Wilson balls for all matches

Entry Deadline: January 4, 2015 at 11:59 pm EST
• Selections posted: Monday, Jan 5, 8:00 PM or later
• Ordered Alternate Lists Posted online: Monday Jan 5, 8:00 PM or later
• Seeds Posted online: Friday, Jan 9, 8:00 PM or later

Saturday: 1 rd of doubles followed by 2 rounds of main draw and 1 round of FIC consolation.

Sunday: 2 rounds of doubles (one in am and one in pm), 2 rounds of main, 2 rounds of FIC consolation. Losers in the round of 16 on Sunday will feed into the consolation on Tuesday.

Monday: 2 rounds of doubles, QF and SF of singles, 2 rounds of FIC consolation, one round of QF playoff (losers in QF main go into a separate playoff draw for 5th and 6th place).

Tuesday: Finals and 3/4 playoff of doubles and singles, Finals of the QF playoff (determines 5th and 6th place), 2 rounds of FIC consolation. There WILL NOT BE A PLAYOFF FOR 7TH AND 8TH.

This tournament has the following:

1. Doubles - single elimination, but 3/4 playoff

2. Main Draw - 3/4 playoff, feed in consolation through the round of 16. - no dependent draw for 1st round losers in consolation.

3. Quarter Final Playoff - 2 rounds - winner and finalist will be 5th and 6th place. THERE IS NOT A PLAYOFF FOR 7TH AND 8TH.

Practice courts: first come first serve. Can practice at each playing site before the matches, each site open at 7:00am. During match playing hours Mercer University Tennis Courts directions to Mercer courts from JDS. * Turn right on Northside Dr. * Turn left on Riverside Dr., travel to first red light. * Turn right on Arkwright Rd., travel 1/10 mile. * Turn right on I-75 South, travel 7 miles. * Take Exit 163, Mercer University Blvd. * Turn left on Mercer University Blvd., travel 4/10 mile (second red light). * Turn left into Mercer University Campus. * Tennis courts are on the left, parking lot is on the right.

The Format of Play for Singles is a 128 Draw, Full Feed-In Consolation through the Round of 16, with Quarterfinal Playoffs and a 3rd/4th Playoff in the Main Draw. Last round of consolation will be Quarterfinals.
**New info 1/16/14 The Scoring for BG12 only: Main Draw and Consolation are playing Best 2 of 3 Sets with a 10-point tie breaker in lieu of the third.
The Format of Play for Doubles is a 64 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff.
The Scoring for Doubles is an 8-game Pro-Set. At 8 all, a 7 point set tiebreaker will be played.
Singles Finals, 3/4 Playoff, Consolation Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, Quarterfinal Playoff Finals, **Playoff for 5th and 6th, and Doubles Finals and 3/4 Playoff will be played on Tuesday.

• Entries will be accepted online before the entry deadline, and via email (after selections are made).
• Only players selected for singles will be selected for doubles. There will be no 'doubles-only' selections.
• Alternates may participate in doubles if space is available.• The doubles deadline is 11:59 PM Monday Jan 12.
• Doubles play will begin on Saturday, January 17.

Eight game pro sets are to be played throughout the doubles event, including the finals.

1. If you have a partner and they are NOT listed by YOUR name, please email the tournament to confirm your partner.
2. If you are not playing doubles but your name is in the doubles event, please email the tournament to remove your name.
3. If you are playing doubles but your name is not in the event, please email the tournament to add your name.
4. If you do not have a partner, use the Facebook group to help find a partner. BOTH players must confirm the pairing.

A Facebook Group has been created for this tournament. If you are looking for a doubles partner, please ask for membership in the group to communicate with other players(parents) about pairings for doubles.

Players are selected right off the Southern Standings List of the age division in question.
Players from the lower division will not be considered based on lower division standings.

Due to Alternate notification, Doubles, Time Changes, and Draw Changes, it is imperative for you to add contact information (email and phone) during the online registration process when asked. So a player does not lose out, please help us and yourselves by offering this contact information. Matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow "The Code" found in the Friend At Court, if you never read it, please do so.

If you withdraw before registration closes, your credit card will not be charged.
If you withdraw after registration closes, you may be eligible for refund. A player shall not withdraw from a tournament after entries close except for illness, injury, or personal emergency. A withdrawing player shall immediately notify the Tournament by fax or email that the player will not be playing.
If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament.
If the player is not playing because of a personal emergency, the player shall provide a written explanation of the situation to the Referee no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. The Referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. FYI - a personal emergency does not include "my parents can't get off work" or "I have too much homework" or "I can't miss school".
In order to receive a refund, you must notify the tournament immediately of your withdrawal, no later than Thursday 1/09/15. Then, YOU MUST MAIL IN A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE with your written medical excuse or emergency explanation. You must also include the exact "Payee" name the check is payable to. This must be received by the last day of the tournament which is 1/20/15. You will receive suspension points if you do not have a documented medical excuse or a written explanation of a personal emergency. Our best advice to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules before registration closes. Thank you for your cooperation.

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must fax or email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is maconten@bellsouth.net and the fax is (478) 477-0575. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds after 1/09/15. Refunds will only be given with proper documentation and valid excuse and may take 6 weeks to process. See procedures below for receiving a refund.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.
