JACKIE COOPER & TORY FRETZ CHAMPIONSHIPS
Presented by THORLO SOCKS. About Tory Fretz, Jackie Cooper & "FAIR PLAY" Award
Tory Fretz is a former Top 10 U.S. player who was also a Women's NCAA Singles & Doubles Champion and is an inductee in the Intercollegiate Tennis Hall of Fame.
Jackie Cooper is a former US Junior Champion and owner of Jackie Cooper Tennis Academy in Palm Desert.
Jackie and Tory both believe in the importance of respecting your opponents, the significance of fair play, and the value of hard work and determination.
The Jackie Cooper & Tory Fretz "FAIR PLAY" Award will be given to the boy and girl who most exhibit good sportsmanshiip during the tournament.

Doubles Registration
Once the selecton process has been completed All PLAYERS who wish to play doubles MUST e-mail lkwd.tennis@verizon.net to be included in the doubles draw. This includes players who have already registered on line. Players who already have partners must have both players e-mail separately to verify their partners. Players who do not have a partner and still wish to play doubles should also e-mail stating that they wish to play but need a partner. The tournament committee will attempt to pair these players, but can not guarantee they will find everyone a partner. You must play the same division in singles and doubles. You may notify the tournament that you are willing to take any partner we get you and we will do so at check-in for you.
DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR DOUBLES IS THURSDAY OCT 25TH AT 5 PM.

USTA Release Form
At check-in you are required to submit a signed USTA Release form. Forms will be available on-site at check-in, or you may print a copy of the USTA National Junior Championship Release by clicking "more info." If your parents will not accompany you, you need to bring the signed release with you.

Tournament Check-in
Tournament check-in will be at Rancho Las Palmas Resort Tennis Center on Friday, Oct. 26th from 3-7 PM. Stop by to receive player gift, directions to other site, and activities during the tournament. The RLP Tennis Center is at 42-000 Bob Hope Drive - right behind the resort next to the country club. IF FOR SOME REASON YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE FRIDAY NIGHT CHECK IN, PLEASE SHOW UP AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR BEFORE THE START OF YOUR FIRST MATCH AT THE LOCATION POSTED ON THE DRAW.

On Site Alternates
If you would like to try to be an on-site alternate: Boys & Girls 14's are to show up at Palm Desert Resort & Country Club at least 1/2 hour before the first match of thier division starts.. Boys 16-18 are to show up at Rancho Las Palmas 1/2 hour before the first match of thier division starts. Players will be selected by the number on the existing alternate list.

Tournament Hotel Information
The Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is the main hotel. Tournament players can book rooms at RLP at a reduced rate by calling the Reservations Department at 866-423-1195, and ask for the USTA rate. The reduced rate is $179/night (or approx $210/night after all fees/taxes are applied). This reduced rate includes parking, in-room internet, fitness center access, in-room coffee and tea, and daily newspapers.
Oct. 10 is the deadline for making a reservation to get the USTA rate. There is a 72 hr. cancellation policy.

Holiday Inn & Suites
For Reservations: Call 760-340-5516 and ask for the USTA Rate..which is $79 per night plus tax.
Included is free breakfast. The Holiday Inn Express will honor this rate up until Oct. 12, after which time the $79 rate will no longer be honored. There is a very generous 24 hour cancellation policy extended to the tournament participants.

Withdrawals and Refunds
Withdrawals
A player shall not withdraw from a tournament except for illness, injury, personal emergency, or previously authorized entry into another tournament.
Refunds
A player accepted into the main draw of this tournament who subsequently withdraws for any reason will not receive a refund.

Online entries only
Be sure to register online prior to the deadline Thursday, Sept. 27th at 11:59 AM Eastern Time which is 8:59 AM Pacific time. We will not be taking entries by mail or phone. If you do not have access to the internet you should go to the library or ask a friend. Players have the option of entering four (4) sites there is no obligation to do so. Players should only register for the site(s) that they are willing to travel to if selected.

Scoring
All Main draw matches are 2 out of 3 sets with tie-break at 6 all. all backdraw matches are "Best of Two" sets. 10 point tie-break in lieu of third set. Doubles will play a Pro set with 10 point tie-break at 8 games all.

Draws will be posted Oct 26th Friday morning.
