Alternates By Event Future Match Info Report

Match Schedule/Times/Draw - NEW PLEASE READ
Singles play will begin at 8am and 9:30am at all sites. Please check the future match report link listed above on Tuesday morning for first round match time and location. All Doubles will tentatively start at each site at 3:30pm on Wednesday. Players will be given 2 hours of rest between singles play in the main draw. 1 hour between doubles play. We will play 2 rounds of singles and doubles on Wednesday. The draw will not be done until Tuesday and will not be posted until the start of play Wednesday. (This is to protect the integrity of the draw from late withdrawals)

Doubles
All players will have the opportunity to find a doubles partner on site. Registration will not close until Wednesday at 12:00 noon. All players are asked to confirm their doubles partners at the tournament desk before their singles match. DOUBLES WILL START THE FIRST DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. We will have a doubles sign-up sheet available at the site.If you need a partner, sign up and we will help to match you with another person who also needs a partner. All doubles matches are an 8 game pro set with a match tie-breaker (first to 10 by 2) at 8-8. it is not the responsibility of the tournament to match a player with a partner, but we will do our very best to help.

Sites
The sites for 2013 Open are Stowe Stadium(STOWE) (1200 Academy, Kalamazoo MI), Western Michigan-bottom 12 courts (WMU) ( N.Dormitory Rd Kalamazoo MI, 49008), and Portage Central High School (PCHS) (8135 S. Westnedge, Portage MI)

Tournament Check In
Players are requested to Check- in 15 min before their scheduled matches at their site. There is an optional check in on Tuesday night at Stowe Stadium after 5-7pm to pick up packets/t-shirt and confirm or find a doubles partner. Players that may need rackets strung by Wednesday, may drop them off at the Kalamazoo YMCA before 5:00pm on Tuesday.

Singles: Main draw feeds FIC through the Quarterfinals. FIC plays through to semifinal. 3/4 playoff in main.
BG 18/16: Main Draw Best of 3 sets. FIC Best of 3 with a Match TB in lieu of the 3rd Set
Doubles: 16 Draw, Single Elimination, 3/4 Playoff 8 game Prosets

On Site Alternates
If you wish to show up as an on-site alternate, players must show up at Stowe before 8:00am. Sign in and we will take players by order of the national standing list (Players who are already on the alternate list have priority over players who are not.)

Awards will be presented to the top 6 singles finishers and 4 doubles teams in each age group.

Kalamazoo is surrounded by many airports. There are locations and times to fit all budgets. Driving time from area airports are as follows: Kalamazoo- 5min. Grand Rapids-1 hour. Detroit-2 hours. 4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 6, 2013 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
