WITHDRAWAL GUIDELINES
If you wish to withdraw, we need an email from you stating the specific reason you are withdrawing. If medical or injury send doctor's excuse if you have. According to Section 7-5 of the 2012 USTA Junior National Tournament Committee Manual, "bonda fide reasons for a withdrawal are illness, injury, and personal circumstances. Players may NOT withdraw from one site in order to gain acceptance into another site. All withdrawals for reasons other than illness, injury, and personal circumstances or withdrawals for any reason without the proper written notification are actually defaults and Code of Conduct Reports should be completed for each defaulting player even though an alternate may take that defaulting player's place in the draw..."

PLAYER SELECTION
The deadline for the National Open has passed. At this time the selection process is being made by the National office. (It is a 27 step process.) This process will be officially completed sometime the beginning of next week. As soon as they have completed it, they will let us know that we can download our players. At that time we will know who has actually made it into the tournament at our site and everyone can make their travel arrangements. Until then we will not have any more information. We will also upload a list of alternates showing where you stand. AT THAT TIME, ALTERNATES SHOULD IMMEDIATELY EMAIL US YOUR DAYTIME CONTACT INFORMATION (CELL PHONE & EMAIL) SO WE CAN CONTACT YOU IMMEDIATELY WHEN AN OPENING COMES UP.
|
ALTERNATES
After the competitors list has been uploaded, we will also upload an ordered list of alternates so alternates will see where they stand on getting into the tournament as openings come up. AT THAT TIME ALL ALTERNATES SHOULD IMMEDIATELY EMAIL ME YOUR DAYTIME CELL NUMBERS AND DAYTIME EMAILS SO YOU CAN BE CONTACTED QUICKLY IF YOUR NAME COMES UP.

ALTERNATES: How are they ordered?
As stated in the USTA Junior National Tournament Committee Manual for 2012, the alternates are ordered by the following criteria:
1. Any players who ranked in top 300 of national standing list of boys’ 14’s. (None of ours fell into this category.)
2. Next any players who ranked in top 200 of national standings list for boys’ 12’s. (We had 10 boys who fell into this category.)
3. Next all the rest of players with a national ranking of any type in the boys’ 14’s.
4. Then rest of players with national ranking in the boys’ 12’s.
5. Finally – any who did not have a national ranking in either age were drawn by lot from a hat.
6. Any late entries would fall at the very end in order of receipt regardless of ranking.
