Sportsmanship Winners
Congratulations to from Alexis Franco from Largo, FL. on being selected to receive the sportsmanship award at the G14 National Open in Macon.
Congratulations to Rohman Mitchell from Austell, GA.on being selected to receive the sportsmanship award at the B14 National Open in Macon.
Both players were chosen by the tournament committee for displaying outstanding sportsmanship on and off the court.

Match Format for Monday
Format for all singles matches will be best of 2 sets with a match tiebreak for the 3rd set played at 1 all. There will be 3 rounds of singles (main and consolation) and 2 rounds of doubles.

ON-SITE ALTERNATES
•Alternates must sign in with the referee by the check-in deadline.
•If a default or withdrawal creates a vacancy in the draw, the alternate who has signed in and is highest on the alternate list will fill the vacancy.
•Alternates may play doubles even if they are not admitted to singles.
•...Any alternate desiring admittance must check in and be ready for play no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match time of the event for which they are an alternate.
•The order of the alternates is based on the original Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more recent National Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
The USTA Release and USTA Medical Release Form will available at the end of the confirmation email received after the player has been accepted into the tournament. This email should be printed by the player, signed by the parent or guardian and brought to the tournament at check-in.
Alternates gaining entry after the selection has taken place will also need to turn in a signed USTA Release and USTA Medical Release Form at check-in.
Note: The USTA Release and USTA Medical Release Form must be received prior to playing in the tournament.

DOUBLES INFORMATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Doubles
Singles players and Singles Alternates are eligible to play Doubles in this tournament.
Doubles draw is limited to 32 players (16 teams).
For players not already in Doubles, sign up will be held on Friday evening, May 11, and continue through Saturday, May 12, 8:00 AM.
Players may also enter doubles on-line at the time of registration.
Doubles is single elimination, with awards for First, Second, Third and Fourth place. Note: A Playoff for 3/4 is required in Doubles. Doubles matches: 8 game pro set with a 10-point Match Tiebreak at 8 games all.
Draws will be made and posted by 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, with play beginning Saturday afternoon.
Two rounds of Doubles may be scheduled Saturday evening. No more than two rounds of Doubles will be played each day until Doubles are completed.For more information concerning the selection process for doubles please click on the link. more info

REGISTRATION HOURS
All players must register for the tournament prior to playing their first match. Registration will take place only at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Registration hours are Friday, May 11th from 4 - 6:30 pm EST or Saturday,May 12th from 7AM-10AM EST. After the initial registration, players should check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match at the assigned site. When a player checks in, it means that they are ready to play.

NEW RULES
When using a 10 point tiebreaker in lieu of the full 3rd set, there will be a mandatory 3 minute break. Coaching will be allowed on court or in designated place near the court during this break.
There is no coaching during a toilet break. Player forfeits coaching if toilet break is requested at beginning of the 3 minute break between the 2nd set and match tie break for the 3rd set.

WITHDRAWAL PROCESS
Withdrawal before the entry deadline, withdraw on-line. Withdrawal after the deadline and before tournament begins, withdraw via e-mail (maconten@bellsouth.net) To withdraw after the tournament begins, players must see the Referee to give the reason for the withdrawal.

COMPETITOR LIST AND ALTERNATES LIST
The "Competitor" list should be available early next week, (with in 5 days of the registration deadline.)
The ordered "Alternate" list will be posted a day after the "Competitor" list is published.
Late entrants will be placed at the end of the "Alternate" list in order of receipt.

3RD AND 4TH PLAYOFF
All singles and doubles draws will have a playoff for 3rd and 4th place. All players are required to play the third and fourth place playoff.

DOUBLES PARTNERSHIPS
Confirmation of the doubles team is mandatory
We do NOT partner players.
It is your job to find a partner, confirm the partnership, and then let us know via e-mail (maconten@bellsouth.net)
We need confirmation from both players.

Official Ball
Wilson US Open balls are provided by the USTA and are the official ball of this tournament. Players will be provided with three balls for each match, with new balls for third sets.

Registration
Deadline is 11:59am, Eastern Time, April 19. It is not midnight.
If you miss it, then you will go on the alternate list after all on-time entries.

SELECTIONS
•The selection process is a 13-step process that takes several days to complete.
•National Junior Competitive will complete the process timely once the deadline closes.
•As soon as we are notified that the selection process is complete, we will order the Alternates and publish the Alternate list (within a day or two) on the tournament website.
•Applicants selected will receive a confirmation email that they were selected.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
