Beginning Friday, February 14th at 9:00 a.m. the tournament desk
phone is 504-914-4947. Please do not try to reach the tournament
desk via the numbers previously listed. Draws for the tournament
will be posted at Aurora Country Club on Friday, February 14th at
2:00 pm. Copies of the draw will be given to each participant at
registration. There is a mandatory players meeting at Aurora
Country Club at 6:00 pm. Late travelers will be excused. The
tournament will provide lunch for the participants on Saturday from
11:00 am until 1:00 pm. HOTEL INFORMATION: Their are two host
hotels for the tournament. One is the Spring Hill Suites located in
downtown New Orleans. Informaton on the hotel amenities may be seen
at www.marriot.com/msysh and the telephone number to book a
reservation is 1-888-364-1200. Mention the USTA Girls 16 National
Open for tournament price. This hotel is approximately 20 minutes
from the tourament site and just blocks away from the French
Quarter and the Riverwalk Shopping Mall. The tournament rate is
$99.00 per night plus parking. (This hotel may be booked beginning
January 10th at 5:00pm Central Time) Additionally, a one night
guarantee is required. The other hotel is the LaQuinta Inn, 50
Terry Parkway, Gretna, Louisiana. This hotel is approximately 10
minutes from the tournament site. The tournament price is $79.99
per night and includes a continental breakfast, ironing boards and
blow dryers in the room. King size rooms also include a small
refrigerator. You may contact the hotel directly by calling
504-368-5600 and please mention the USTA Girls 16 National Open
tennis tournament. This block of rooms will be cancelled February
1, 2003 so please make reservations early. Maps to the hotel will
be provided at the Country Club or you may contact the hotel. LOCAL
INFORMATION: You may visit www.neworleans.com for information on
restaurants, shopping, history and much more. WARM-UP AND PRACTICE
COURTS: Group and individual warm-ups will be available prior to
the tournament and during for a fee. Check with Bill Bryan when you
get to town to make arrangements. There are several locations for
practice courts in the area. Maps will be provided to you at
check-in. CHECK-IN: Check-in for the tournament will be Friday,
February 14th from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and again on Saturday the
15th from 7:00 am until 9:00 am.DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO AURORA C.C.:
From the Airport and/or the West, take 1-10 East to Exit 234A which
is Highway 90 West Business over the Mississippi River bridge.
Cross the bridge and take exit 9B General DeGaulle East. This exit
puts you on General DeGaulle. Continue straight on DeGaulle 1.3
miles to Holiday Drive. Turn Left. Go down Holiday about .9 of a
mile to General Meyer Ave. and turn right. Go about 1 mile, the
club is on the left. The address is 5244 General Meyer. FROM THE
EAST: Take I-10 West to Exit 234C which is 90 West Business to the
West Bank. Once on the Mississippi River bridge follow the
dirrections above to the club. CLUB TELEPHONE: 504-392-3300.
TOURNAMENT DESK PHONE: Will be announced close to the tournament
but not active until the day before. This event is restricted to
the following Junior players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident
Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees and asylees; Junior players residing in
Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Samoa or Guam and Canadian
residents of British Columbia. You may be asked for proof of
status. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2.a.
