Sportsmanship
Congratulations to Catherine Kernie of Dallas and Nihar Damarasingu of Frisco for being selected to receive the Sportsmanship award for the Arlington Tennis Center Junior Singles Open. Catherine and Nihar were chosen by the tournament committee to receive the honors due to their outstanding sportsmanship on the court during their matches and off the court in their interaction with players and staff. Congratulations to Catherine and Nihar!

Check In
At tournament check in, players will receive a tournament towel and confirm cell phone numbers. Players must check in at the tournament desk for EACH MATCH. 15+ minutes is suggested to avoid possible lateness penalties.
|

Format
- Format for B&G 12-18s will be regular (ad) scoring, best of three sets, with a 10-point match tie-break for third set.
- For split sets, players should take the regular two-minute set break, and then go immediately into the 10-point match tie-break. Players should not come off court (no new balls for 10-point match tie-breaks).
- Format for B&G 10s will be no ad scoring, 8-game prosets, with a tie-break at 8 games all.

Withdrawals
- Withdrawals must be in writing, email preferred: atc@arlingtontx.gov
- Withdrawals will be reflected on-line through 4:00 PM, Friday, April 24.
- LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE. We will attempt to contact opponents, but we may not be able to do so in every situation, particularly regarding withdrawals late Friday or early Saturday.
- If withdrawing late (after 4:00 PM Friday), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone BEFORE the tournament begins Saturday morning, as email may not be read "instantly" late Friday, early Saturday or once it begins. Contact Referee Kennan. Thank you!

Rain Information

- Divisions that begin play will not be refunded, including players affected by defaults or byes.
- Regardless of rain, players are asked to be prepared to play.

Our proshop carries the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. About the Tournament
- This tournament is a USTA sanctioned event.
- Events offered at this tournament are Singles for B&G 10s Regular, and B&G 12s-18s Regular, Championship and Super Championship.
- Entry fee of $33 includes TennisLink processing fee.
- TennisLink will not prevent non-qualified players from entering qualified divisions. Players will be removed from ineligible divisions after the deadline and placed in appropriate divisions.
- Divisions that do not make may be combined or cancelled. Refunds will be issued for divisions that do not make.
- Matches will not begin before 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 24.
- Awards will be given in each division for First, Second and Consolation, as well as a Sportsmanship for Boys and Girls.

- Before you enter the tournament, PLEASE CHECK YOUR USTA MEMBER INFORMATION. Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
- Check that your USTA membership is current, your address and TELEPHONE NUMBERS are correct and that you have LISTED ALTERNATE (work and/or mobile) PHONE NUMBERS.
- Email addresses are also helpful.
- Note that due to privacy issues Juniors must enter their contact information for each tournament they enter or the contact info may not be available to the tournament director.

Entering the Tournament
- On-line registration is encouraged as it is the fastest and most secure means of registration.
- On-line fee includes TennisLink processing fee.
- You should receive a confirmation number when you register on-line.
- If you do not, or if you have any problems with on-line registration, contact linkteam@usta.com.

Deadline
- THE DEADLINE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS 11:59 PM, SUNDAY, APRIL 12.
- If you are in doubt about your entry, check the Applicants list and email linkteam@usta.com if your name does not appear on that list shortly after your registration on-line, or if you do not receive a confirmation number at the end of your registration process.
- NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Please do not wait until the day before the tournament to check on your entry status.

Applicants and Competitors
- Players who enter on-line will appear on the list of Applicants.
- If you withdraw after the deadline (but before the draws are posted), your name WILL STILL APPEAR on the Applicant list. We cannot remove your name from the Applicants.
- After the deadline (within 24 hours), the Competitor list will reflect players who are entered in the tournament and the division in which they are scheduled to play.

Draws and Seeding
- Maximum draw sizes is 64.
- Championship players may not play up.
- Regular divisions are for non-qualified players and out-of-section players who are not approved to compete in Super Championship divisions.
- Seeding is primarily based on the latest Standings List provided by the Texas Section, but may include information gathered from rankings, player records and head-to-head encounters.
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players in the first round who are from the same town (when possible).
- Draws will be posted Tuesday, April 21, 8:00 AM.

- The tournament referee is Cathy Kennan.
- The USTA Code of Conduct and Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.

Lateness Penalties
Reminder that there is no grace period for lateness. - 1 minute to 5 minutes = Loss of one game and choice to serve or receive
- 5:01 minutes/seconds to 10 minutes = Loss of two games and choice to serve or receive
- 10:01 minutes/seconds to 15 minutes = Loss of three games and choice to serve or receive
- 15:01 minutes/seconds = Default

Racquet Stringing
ATC’s stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area, and we will offer 24-hour service for tournament players during the two-day event. In addition, demo racquets are available for a small fee.

Advance Planning
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed in the proshop/building or inside fenced areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).

Water on Courts
Water coolers are not on placed on ATC courts. However, free cups are available in the proshop, and a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. In addition, players are welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop. Players may also bring their own water jugs on court. Alternates sites do not have water on the courts.

Cell Phones
Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well.
- Thank you for your cooperation.

Videos / Photos
Videotaping or taking photographs by individuals is allowed only for personal use. Videotaping and photography of players other than those for whom the person taking the photograph is responsible (parent or guardian) is prohibited other than by the professional photographer arranged for by ATC.

The 2012 May SCMZ is late in the month due to UIL State and National Opens. The Grand Slam deadline (June SCMZ) will be before this tournament! The results from the May SCMZ will not be included in the seeding for the Grand Slam.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, April 12, 2009 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
