Once again, ALL players, those in the quota and the alternates, should sign up for the Southern Closed in their age division BEFORE the deadline.

NOTE!!!......New Match Check-in Regulations......NOTE!!!
New USTA Regulations require that you MUST check-in by the time your match is scheduled. For example, if 7 matches are scheduled at 11:30 am, ALL matches scheduled at that time will be called and the lateness clock will start for any players who have not checked in (even if only a few courts are available). The referee will determine the order in which matches will be put on the court, but a player DOES NOT escape the lateness penalty just because his/her match is not one of the first matches from that time group sent out to the court. The check-in desk will be open by 2:45 pm Friday and at least 30 minutes before the first matches every day. DON'T BE DEFAULTED -- BE SURE YOU CHECK-IN BY YOUR SCHEDULED TIME!

Medical Release Form
Please bring a signed Medical Release Form with you to the tournament. You will NOT be allowed to play a match until we have one on file.

Draws and Friday Match Schedule
Matches will begin Friday at 3:30 pm at the Burns Park Tennis Center (see the draws for match times). Matches will be played Friday in the following divisions -- B12S, B14S, B16S, B18S, G10S, G14S, G16S, and B14D. All other matches wil begin Saturday, 5/26. Match times have been posted on the draw sheets.

Come on out for a treat! -- JTC COOKOUT
Come one, come all to the JTC cookout Saturday from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. You'll have a great time and a chance to play in and/or watch some great doubles. We'll have hot dogs, baked beans and all the trimmings. We'll do our best to be sure that we have enough goodies left for you even if you're one of the lucky ones on the court that evening.

Match Schedule May Change in the event of Rain
The match schedule is shown for the entire tournament. However, it may change in the event of rain. It will be your responsibility to check the schedule for changes if rain happens.

DON"T FORGET ---- to register online for the STA Closed Championships
Lists of players qualifying for the Southerns will be posted in the notes for this tournament as soon as they are available and will also be posted on the ATA web site. The entry deadline for these tournaments is June 8 and you must enter online through TennisLink. We strongly encourage all qualifier players interested in participting to enter even if you are not sure that you will be in the quota for automatic acceptance. If you have met the requirements, your name will appear on the ATA endorsement list. A few spots are open in addition to the quota positions and withdrawals of players in quota before the deadline may open other spots to be filled from the waiting list, but ONLY registered players can be considered. Endorsers Tom Fink and Richard Akel will be on site during the tournament and will be glad to answer any questions. You will not be charged unless you are accepted into the tournament.

Match Format
Main draw singles matches will be played as the best of three full sets with a tiebreak at 6-6 in all sets (except in the event of inclement weather). Doubles matches will consist of 8 game pro sets with a tiebreak at 8-8.

Doubles Registration and Match Information
This year the deadline for doubles is the same as for singles, Monday, May 21st, 11:59 am. If you plan on playing doubles, please be sure to sign up through TennisLink. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
If you do not have a partner and wish to play, sign up and we will assign you a partner if one is available. If you have registered for doubles without a partner and find one BEFORE the deadline, please call Ann Boudreaux at 501-227-7611, ext. 18 with your partner's name. Be prepared to play doubles on Friday, May 25.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
