Welcome to the Arlington Tennis Center's Fall-Apalooza Adult Open! This tournament is a USTA Sanctioned event offering adult NTRP 3.0-4.5 and Open Divisions in Singles and Doubles. Arlington Tennis Center is a public facility featuring 20 outdoor lighted tennis courts and a full-service proshop. We carry the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. The Arlington Tennis Center Fall-Apalooza Adult Open is a USTA Texas Sanctioned open event for adults 19 years and older. USTA Membership is required. Points earned for this tournament are USTA Texas: Adult-100, and National: Adult-Local 1x.

• Players who are NTRP eligible may play in this tournament. Note: Players become eligible for levels the month they turn 19 years old.
• Out of Section players may compete.
• Players are limited to two events. Players may enter one singles and one doubles, or two doubles.

USTA Membership is required to participate in this tournament. Your USTA Membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff. Cell phone numbers and email addresses are helpful.

Prior to the deadline, see Applicants. After the deadline, see Competitors for players who are playing in the tournament. Choose individual doubles divisions to confirm partners. This list will be updated as information (e.g., eligibility, withdrawals) is available.

Consolation will be offered in all divisions with regular draws (five or more players). Divisions with three or four players will be round robins.

• Remember that players MUST register for Doubles with a partner.
• Once the deadline passes, players whose partners did not register (or who are not eligible) may be removed from the tournament.
• Before the deadline and before registering for Doubles, confirm your partner is playing, that he/she is eligible, and that he/she is playing with you, not someone else.
• Remember that your partner must be playing in the same age division in Singles and Doubles.

Arlington Tennis Center Fall-Apalooza players are invited to enjoy a player lunch on Saturday, September 17, from 11:30a - 1:30p. Be sure to get your lunch ticket when you check in for the tournament and pick up your player gift!

Please let us know as early as possible if you must withdraw so that we can contact the opponents and update draws timely. Withdrawals must be made via email prior to the start of the tournament. Once the tournament begins (Friday evening), please contact THE REFEREE at ATC with verbal withdrawals. You will also need to follow up in writing via email to atc@arlingtontx.gov. Do not leave a message with the customer service staff.

All events with five or more entries will be first match loser consolation. If three or four players/teams are entered, the event will be a round robin. Some events with fewer than three players may be combined with another division. Players will be contacted (if contact information is available).

The format for this tournament is best of three full sets, regular scoring. Alternative scoring may be used (see below). The Coman Tiebreak will be used when a set reaches six all. (Coman Tiebreak: Players change ends after the first point, and thereafter every fourth point.)

If the Referee elects to use alternative scoring (e.g., 10-point Match Tiebreak) due to extreme heat or other weather related issues, please note:

• Players take only a two-minute break after the second set (not a 10-minute break).
• Players do not leave the court (they go directly into the 10-point tiebreak after the two-minute set break).
• Players do not receive new balls for 10-point Match Tiebreaks.
• A decision regarding alternative scoring may not be made until shortly before matches begin. Players will be advised of the alternative scoring before they go on court for their matches.

Draws for this tournament will be posted by Tuesday morning, 8:00 AM, September 13. Draws will be updated nightly during the tournament, with final results reported to local newspapers.

Seeding for this tournament may be based on rankings, current records and head-to-head encounters.

This tournament may begin Friday evening, September 16, after 5:00 PM, for larger draws. Some draws may not begin play until Saturday, September 17.

Awards will be given for First, Second and Consolation in all divisions.

• All officials for the Arlington Tennis Center Fall-Apalooza are certified by the USTA.
• The USTA Code of Conduct and the Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.
• Remember, THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD REGARDING LATENESS, INCLUDING FOR FIRST ROUND MATCHES.
• If you have issues on court than cannot be resolved between you and your opponent(s), GET AN OFFICIAL.

The official tournament balls are Penn Championship Yellow Extra Duty. A new can of balls will be distributed for each match and for split sets (if playing a full third set).

• Arlington Tennis Center is the Headquarters for this tournament.
• Matches may be played at other locations.
• Warm up courts will NOT be available at match locations once matches begin each day.

• Never assume that because a court is free momentarily that it is available for you to warm up.

• Emergency Care: Arlington Tennis Center is located directly across the street from Medical Center of Arlington, one of our area's largest hospitals. In addition, Medical Center of Arlington has a state-of-the art Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center that we hope you do not ever need to use.
• Player Gift: Players will receive a tournament towel at check-in at their first match site.
• Stringing: Arlington Tennis Center's stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area. We will have a stringer at ATC during most of the tournament for quick stringing turn-around.
• Wireless Internet: Arlington Tennis Center is pleased to provide free wireless Internet to our guests.

• Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).
• Cell Phones: Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or in the Tournament room. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.
• Dress Code: We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. Players who do not dress appropriately will be asked to adjust their attire.
• Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts.
• Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building & inside the fenced areas around the courts.
• Spectators: We welcome spectators for this event! However, spectators are not allowed on court at any time.
• Videotaping/Photography: Personal videotaping and photography is not allowed at any site, except parents/guardians who are videotaping their own child from a non-distracting position off court. The umpire may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined by the official as interfering or distracting to either player.
• Water-ATC: Water coolers are not placed on courts at Arlington Tennis Center. However, a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. Players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop, and players may bring their own water jugs on court.
• Water-Other Sites: If alternate sites are used, water may not available on court. Players should plan accordingly.
