Clarence Mabry Award
Congratulations to Daniel Brown of Montgomery, B18A, for being selected to receive the prestigious Clarence Mabry Award for Outstanding Boys' Sportsmanship at the Arlington Tennis Center Super Championship Major Zone. Daniel, who won the B18A main draw, showed superior sportsmanship in his attitude toward his opponents on court, and he was extremely personable off court with other players and the tournament staff. Congratulations, Daniel!

Nancy Jeffett Award
Congratulations to Bailey Vandyke of Montgomery, G18, for being selected to receive the honored Nancy Jeffett Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship at the Arlington Tennis Center Super Championship Major Zone. Bailey, who won the G18 Consolation final, showed tremendous sportsmanship on court in her attitude toward her opponents, and she was extremely friendly off court with other players and the staff. Congratulations, Bailey!

ATC Boys' Sportsmanship
Congratulations to Charlie Shin of Austin, B16A, for being selected as the winner of the Arlington Tennis Center SCMZ 16-18s Boys' Sportsmanship Award. Charlie was very fair with his opponents on court, courteous to tournament staff and players off court, and he handled a tough main draw semi final match, from which he had to retire in the third set. Charlie also showed great sportsmanship when he loaned an opponent one of his racquets because the opponent's equipment was temporarily unavailable. Congratulations, Charlie!

ATC Girls' Sportsmanship
Congratulations to Marcelli Magday of Arlington, G16A, for being selected to receive the Arlington Tennis Center SCMZ 16-18s Girls' Sportsmanship Award. Marcelli was a strong competitor on court, winning second place in the G16A draw, and she was courteous to her opponents on court and friendly off court with other players and tournament staff. Congratulations, Marcelli!

Draws Posted
- Draws are now posted. Results will be updated nightly on-line. (If information is available and time allows, some results may be uploaded during the day.)
- Hard copies with previous day's results will be posted at the headquarters (ATC). Hard copies will not be available at sites for distribution to players. Players who would like hard copies of the draws should print from the TennisLinkinformation.
- Draws include match days, times and site abbreviations
- Check abbreviations/locations and times carefully. Some draws will have one or two matches at alternate locations.
- Check next round match locations. Some draws will change locations between rounds.
- Players do not need to come by ATC before their first matches on Saturday. Tournament towels, souvenir cups and restaurant/shopping coupons will be available at sites.
- Doubles: a few players are listed individually in doubles instead of as a team, because one partner withdrew. Opponents will advance if a replacement partner is not submitted/approved timely.
- When possible, players from the same town, or doubles partners, were separated for first rounds.
- Maximum draw size is 64 for Singles and 16 teams in Doubles.
- Divisions exceeding 64 Singles or 16 Doubles were split according to tournament specific regulations.

Tournament Billboards
If you are traveling south on State Highway 360 at Lamar Boulevard (northeast Arlington), or east on Interstate Highway at Little Road (southwest Arlington), look for the Arlington Tennis Center Super Champ Major Zone advertisement on the digital billboards. The promotions run in rotation with other ads, so if you don't catch them as you pass by the first time, just cruise by again. Thanks to our Parks & Recreation Department for arranging the advertisement.

Warm-up Courts
- Warm up courts will NOT be available at match locations once matches begin each day.
- Never assume that because a court is free momentarily that it is available for you to warm up.

Withdrawing
- Penalties will be assessed automatically regarding withdrawals. See Junior Know the Rules.
- WITHDRAWALS AFTER THE DEADLINE MUST BE MADE IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO ATC@ARLINGTONTX.GOV, with a valid reason specified.
- Withdrawals before the deadline should be done through the on-line registration system by editing registration.
- Withdrawals will be reflected on-line through 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 14.
- LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE. We will attempt to contact opponents, but we may not be able to do so in every situation, particularly regarding withdrawals Friday afternoon or early Saturday.
- If withdrawing late (after 12:00 Noon on Friday), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone, as email may not be read "instantly" late on Friday or once the tournament begins.
- Refunds will not be made for withdrawals seven days or less before the start of the tournament.
- Players who withdraw once the tournament begins must speak with the Referee at the main site. Do not leave a message with the customer service representatives who answer the phone. Players must follow up with an email to ATC, atc@arlingtontx.gov.

Seeding
- Seeding has been done by the Junior Tennis Council Chair and the Competitive Department staff.
- Seeding was based on the latest Standings list, but may include information gathered from rankings, player records and head-to-head encounters.
- Players from younger age divisions and out-of-section players may have been seeded.
- Draws are currently being scheduled for location and times

Division Splits
- Divisions have been split into draws by the USTA Texas Section Competitive Department.
- "C" draws that need to be split will be designated as C Red, C White, etc., as "D" draws do not exist.
- Withdrawals must be in writing to atc@arlingtontx.gov with a valid reason specified.
- If players withdraw before seeding is done (this week), players may be moved from one draw to another. Check Competitors for updates.

See Competitors for players who are playing in the tournament. Choose individual doubles divisions to confirm partners. This list will be updated as information (e.g., eligibility, withdrawals) is available.

Check-In
- Players should plan to arrive at their first match site 15-30 minutes before the match is scheduled to begin so that they will have time to pick up their tournament towel and provide the site director with cell numbers.
- Players must check in with their site director before each match. Players should plan to check in for their second round and later matches at least 15 minutes in advance.
- Players do not need to check in at ATC unless they play at that location. Tournament towels will be available at each site.

Format
- Format for B&G 16-18 Main Draw Singles is best of three sets, regular scoring, for all three full sets in the main draw.
- Consolation is regular scoring and uses 10-point tiebreaks in lieu of third set.
- First Match Loser Consolation is required for Singles. Consolation matches will use regular scoring for the first two sets, and a 10-point tiebreak in lieu of third set.
- Formats for B&G 16-18 Doubles are 8-game prosets, regular scoring, with a regular set tie-break at eight-all.
- Doubles are Single Elimination.
- Formats (and schedule) may be adjusted by the Referee due to the heat index or rain delays. However, a decision may not be made prior to the tournament.
- B&G 18 Singles do not take a 10-minute break between the 2nd and 3rd sets unless instructed by the Referee (or site Official) due to heat. Players will be informed before their matches if 18s will take 10-minute breaks between second and third sets.

Schedule of Play
- Singles will begin Saturday morning, not before 8:00 AM.
- Singles will continue through Monday for larger draws. Smaller draws may be completed on Sunday.
- Main draw will have two rounds scheduled Saturday, and Consolation will have one round Saturday. Note: Due to an expected heat index of more than 100 degrees, both Main draw and Consolation will have two singles rounds scheduled Sunday. Draws of 32 (finals) or 64 (semis and finals) will be played Monday.
- Note: Due to heat index, the Referee may elect to have both Main draw and Consolation play 10-pt tie-breaks in lieu of third set on Saturday and Sunday. A decision will be made prior to the start of matches each day.
- Doubles will begin Saturday evening and continue through Sunday, if necessary.
- Doubles may have up to two rounds played Saturday and Sunday (if needed).

Entering the Tournament
- This tournament accepts on-line registration only. No mailed, faxed, phoned, in person or emailed entries will be accepted.
- The fee for this tournament is a $45 flat fee. Separate fees are not charged for Singles and Doubles. TennisLink will charge an additional administrative fee of approximately $3 per event.
- Players will receive a confirmation at the end of their on-line registration process.
- All issues with on-line registration should be directed to linkteam@usta.com.

Deadline July 26
- The deadline for this tournament has passed.
- Late entries will not be accepted.
- Once the deadline passes, the Competitive Department begins review of the draws, and players will not be added, which means the deadline is firm.
- Players in doubles who do not have partners listed may be removed from the tournament.

Eligibility
- To be eligible to play in this event, players must be qualified in the appropriate age and gender divisions in Super Championship junior tennis in Texas, or they may be Out-of-Section players who have been approved IN ADVANCE BY THE TEXAS SECTION.
- Super Championship players may play up in Super Championship major zones.
- Players must compete in the same age division in Singles and Doubles.
- Players may compete in only one Singles and one Doubles event.
- In Doubles, at least one member of each Doubles team must be qualified in Super Championship (and be age eligible).
- ZAT and Championship players may not play in Super Championship major zones.
- Players may register for only one SCMZ each month.

USTA Membership Required
- Before you enter the tournament, PLEASE CHECK YOUR USTA Membership Information. Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
- Junior players should also enter email addresses for each tournament entered, as tournament directors no longer have access to junior players' email or phone numbers unless the information is listed for a specific tournament. It is very important that you include email and cell phone information.

Doubles
- Players MUST SPECIFY a partner when registering for Doubles.
- Once the deadline passes, players whose partners did not register (or who are not eligible) may be removed from the tournament.
- Before the deadline and before registering for Doubles, confirm your partner is playing, that he/she is eligible, and that he/she is playing with you, not someone else. Just because you list someone, that does not mean they have registered with you as their partner.
- Remember that your partner must be playing in the same age division in Singles and Doubles.

Applicants and Competitors
- Applicants are players who register for the tournament. Competitors are players who will play in the tournament.
- Players who enter on-line will appear on the list of Applicants.
- If you do not see your name on the Applicant list within a few minutes after your on-line entry is complete, and you have a confirmation number, contact LinkTeam@usta.com.
- If you withdraw before the deadline, your name should be removed from the Applicant list. If you withdraw before the deadline, and your name is still on the Applicant list, contact LinkTeam@usta.com.
- If you withdraw after the deadline, your name WILL STILL APPEAR on the Applicant list. We cannot remove your name from the Applicant list after the deadline, as that information is locked for the tournament directors. However, your name should NOT appear on the Competitor list.
- After the deadline (within 12 hours), the Competitor list will reflect all players who are entered in the tournament.
- The Competitor list may be updated if players are removed from the tournament (e.g., ineligible).

Awards
- Medals will be awarded in each draw for 1st, 2nd and Consolation.
- A Sportsmanship award provided by the USTA Texas Section will be given to one boy and one girl who exhibit overall good sportsmanship on and off the court. Two additional players will also be selected by the tournament staff to receive sportsmanship awards.
|

Officials and PPS
- All officials for our tournament are USTA certified.
- Each site will have at least one USTA roving umpire.
- The Referee, Cathy Kennan, will be stationed at the main site, Arlington Tennis Center.
- The Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.
- Remember, there is no grace period for lateness at the start of matches or after split sets.

Racquet Stringing
ATC’s stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area, and we will offer 24-hour service for tournament players during the three-day event. In addition, demo racquets are available on site at ATC for a small fee.

Official Ball: Penn
The official tournament balls are Penn Championship Yellow Extra Duty. A new can of balls will be distributed for each match and for split sets (if playing a full third set).

Videotaping
Personal videotaping and photography is not allowed, except parents/guardians who are videotaping their own child from a non-distracting position off court. The umpire may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined by the official as interfering or distracting to either player.

Advance Planning
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside fenced areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the ATC property (including the parking lot).

Water on Courts
Water coolers are not on placed on ATC courts. However, free cups, are available in the proshop, and a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. In addition, players are welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop. Players may also bring their own water jugs on court. Alternates sites (e.g., high schools) may not have water on the courts. Please make sure you bring water with you to your matches.

Cell Phones
Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or at the tournament/site desks. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones around the courts either at ATC or at alternate sites should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations at ATC. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators at ATC wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well.
