Seeding Information
In accordance with the decision of the USTA Adult/Senior Competition Committee all 2011 Category 1 nationals are using USTA rules including the All Factors seeding method. As stated in the 2011 Friend At Court The All Factors Method of seeding is based on the players’ chances of winning the tournament as determined by the Tournament Committee. The Tournament Committee shall consider all reasonably available information, including ranking lists, standing lists, recent records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head encounters.
Each age group has a Seeding Assistant who provides the initial seeding suggestions. After examination, those seeds are published for several days before doing the draw in order to solicit feedback from the players in the interest of making the seeds as accurate as possible.
We appreciate the helpful information sent by (in alphabetical order) Maxime Buyckx, Mike Dahm, Tony Dawson, Kenny House, Wesley Jackson, Bob Litwin, Geoff Martinez, Marty Pearson, Ross Persons, Larry Turville, Jeff Winkler, Len Wofford & Paul Wulf. Thank you all not only for your input but also for the respectful way in which you presented it. We appreciate your understanding we are all working towards the same goal of making the tournament a positive, enjoyable experience for all.

Practice Courts
Practice courts may be booked one day in advance. All practice courts must be reserved through the Tournament Desk. Players may book one hour of practice time, four players to a court. A second hour may be booked after completion of the first though players who have not yet played have priority over those who have. A limited number of courts will be available from 4pm – 6pm. If the grass courts are not available, clay courts will be available. To utilize practice court time more efficiently, it is suggested that players practice serves on clay courts #33-36 (the “old bubble” courts). ABSOLUTELY NO GRASS COURT SHOES ARE TO BE WORN ON THE COURTS. PLEASE RESPECT THE ALL WHITE DRESS CODE FOR ALL PEOPLE ON THE COURT. THIS INCLUDES COACHES & GUESTS. THE DRESS CODE APPLIES TO HATS, VISORS & SHOES ON BOTH MATCH & PRACTICE COURTS. Please call the Tournament Desk at 718-268-2300 to reserve. Courts may not be booked more than 24 hours in advance.
