TENNIS ATTIRE:
TENNIS ATTIRE: ALL players will be required to wear collared tennis shirts. NO T-shirts or sleeveless shirts will be allowed on the court for practice or play. Tennis attire/shoes will be expected for play.

ENTRIES and DEADLINE:
Entries will be done through the on-line tennislink registration system at www.USTA.com. Registration is open to all eligible USTA members. Entries submitted by April 26. Only USTA members can register online if available. All final selection of entries will be by the ASI tournament committee. The DEADLINE for entries will be FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2009.

ENTRY Events and AGE GROUPS
Players may ONLY enter two events, but may ONLY play in one singles event. Players are asked to play in their appropriate AGE group. A player is eligible for specified divisions provided he attains that age by December 31, 2009.

AGE GROUPS:
The age groups for the men's events will be: 30sd, 35sd, 40sd, 45sd, 50sd, 55sd, 60sd, 65sd, and 70sd.
|
|
ENTRY FEES:
First event fee is: $80 per player singles OR doubles--- Second event fee is $50 per player.
NOTE: You are charged a processing fee by the USTA that is in addition to the entry fees.
IF you are put into the tournament AFTER the online deadline for singles or doubles - the ENTRY FEE will be $81.13 for the first event and $54.25 for the second event. (This is for the entry plus the processing fee)

WAIVER:
All players are required to sign a waiver of liability before play.

Tournament Selection and MATCH Times:
Players must register using the USTA online registration system. Most age groups will begin on Wednesday. Please contact Beth at 404-237-5427 if you have questions.Players may inquire about their match times beginning May 1st from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. Players may email bclay@cherokeetcc.org or call 404-237-5427.The Tournament Committee will list players for the tournament beginning April 30.

DRAWS:
The events will be single elimination events. No consolation rounds. ****There will be playoffs for 3rd & 4th place.
The singles draws are scheduled to be online Monday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. Singles matches will begin on Wednesday, May 6. ****Doubles deadline is Wednesday, May 6 at NOON.**If you sign up for doubles with a partner you are expected to sign up through the USTA online system. You will need your partner's USTA number. **Some preliminary doubles matches will begin Thursday, May 7 starting at 2:00 p.m.

SEEDING:
Seeding will be posted for each of the age groups for player input. The seeds can be accessed by clicking on COMPETITORS and then selecting the event you are interested in. ITF vs. USTA Seeding Regulations - Please go to USTA.com to complete the players survey as this may determine how seedings are done in the future for Category I and Category II events.

SEEDS POSTED
The singles seeds for all age groups are posted. The All Factors Method was used to determine the seeds. As described in the FAC "The Tournament Committee shall consider all reasonably available information including ranking lists, standing lists, recent records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head encounters."Due to additional information and recommendations from the tournament seeding committee the 45 singles' seeds were updated.

Balls and Scoring:
The Wilson US OPEN regular felt ball will be used. Scoring for all matches will be 2 out of 3 regular set scoring and a 12 point tie break used in any set at 6 all. **The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change scoring in case of inclement weather. The Point Penalty system will be enforced. Roving umpires will be on site at all times.

Court Surface and Inclement Weather:
Events are scheduled to be on clay. Events, as required due to inclement weather, may be played at night, on hard courts and/or indoors at available facilities.

PLAYER HOTEL:
** SpringHill Suites Marriott at 3459 Buckhead Loop, NE, Atlanta, GA 30326. This hotel is about 5-10 minutes from Cherokee Town Club depending on traffic. ASI players rate will be $89.00 plus tax per night for "King rooms" with breakfast and free parking. There is a hotel shuttle that runs to a limited area that is on a first come first serve basis and runs from 6:45 am - 9:30 pm. HOTEL RESERVATIONS must be made by the players individually. The ASI block for the tournament is for May 6 - 10. You may use the link and just enter your arrival and departure date and finish the reservation with a credit card. Lunch: Lunch will be provided for ASI scheduled match players May 6 - 10 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Town Club. (Spouses/guests may purchase lunch for $20.00) ****Player PARTIES: Thursday Night, May 7 - Player Welcome Cookout at Cherokee Tennis Pavilion starting at 6:00 p.m. ****Player Party at SAMBUCA JAZZ CAFE -Friday Night, May 8 starting at 8:00 p.m. (Fee for spouses/guests is $20)

Bringing a GUEST:
Players may bring a guest to the player’s lunch or parties for the tournament for $20.00 per guest. Pay at the check-in desks for each event.

This is a been designated a "Super" CATEGORY II National
Tournament and a prize money tournament. The ASI tournament is May
6-10. Players for the tournament are limited due to hosting nine
age divisions, limited play time and court availability and it is
requested that players play in their respective age group. If your
age group is full, the tournament committee will check for slots in
a lower age group. Players must register on-line and players will
be selected by the ASI tournament selection committee and
competitors will be posted by May 1st.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
