THANK YOU!!
Whew, what a 9 days it's been! With over 730 matches played we managed to have only one cancelled due to weather! We had over 730 players from 29 states and a large contingent from British Columbia, not to mention a stalwart from the UK. The Category I Mixed 50's,60's and 70's continued to add excitement to the tournament as well as some of the very best players. The overall quality of play in all divisions continues to get better..it was truly outstanding!
Thanks to all the players, sponsors and volunteers who took part in the event this year. Thank you to all who traveled near and far to come and enjoy the great atmosphere, camaraderie and competition and, for the most part, incredible weather! Have a healthy and safe year ahead and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2017!

A Super Senior’s Lament by Bob Sockolov, Mens 85+
I NEED A DOUBLES PARTNER
I need a doubles partner
that can cover the court, not just his half but most of mine, too. I don’t mind returning serve but after I do,
I want him to take over. When it’s our turn to serve, and this may take a
little rule change, I want my partner to serve every time. My shoulder hurts a little bit. If there’s a lob going over my head, he better
get it. I can’t take a chance falling down going back for it.
When we change sides on the
odd games, I want all the guys to get
their crap, their tennis bags, rackets, towels, etc., off the bench. I need to sit and have my juiced up energy
drink.
When we forget the score, it
dosen’t matter how much we argue as long as we end up with “Our Add”. Also, If
there’s a close line call, I want my partner to make the call. After all, I
want to keep being the good guy. At first I didn’t like the
decision to play a tie breaker for a third set, but now, how about cutting down
to 7 points. When the match is over,
forget about shaking hands, the arthritis in my hand hurts too much. How about
just a hug?
Why do I even play this
game? Because I love it and I’m very
competitive.
