IMPORTANT!
Due to a new policy from the USTA's legal department, tournament
directors will no longer have access to phone numbers and email
addresses of the tournament participants unless the player
re-enters their contact information at time of event registration.
This means that if a player does not enter their phone and email
information each time they register for a tournament, the
tournament director cannot contact them for any reason, including
withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc. Your cooperation
will ensure that tournaments can continue to communicate necessary
information to you. Thank you.

1) Deadlines:
Tournament Registration Deadline -
Thursday, July 20th, 2017 11:59 PM (Arizona Time) Please register
before that date if you would like for us to assign you a doubles
partner. This is also the deadline to email us any scheduling
conflicts you have.
2) Entering Multiple Divisions:
You may play a maximum of TWO of the following divisions: Singles,
Men's or Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. All adult & senior
age divisions, NTRP levels (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5), and Open divisions
offered. You cannot play two singles events, or two doubles events,
or two mixed doubles events.
3) Doubles Information If You Have a Partner:
When registering online, please indicate your desired partner's
name or USTA number (preferred) on the registration form, and we
will pair you up in the selected division. Please ensure both
teammates are registered by the tournament deadline.
Combined Mixed NTRP Levels are as follows:As long as the
SUM of the two players NTRP level fall equal to or below the NTRP
being entered, you and your partner will be eligible for that
combined NTRP division.Combined 6.0 NTRP = (3.0 Player + 3.0
Player) OR (2.5 Player + 3.5 PlayerCombined 7.0 NTRP = (3.5 Player
+ 3.5 Player OR (3.0 Player + 4.0 Player)
Combined 8.0 NTRP = (4.0 Player + 4.0 Player) OR (3.5 Player + 4.5
Player)
4) Doubles Information If You Need a Partner: In order to
give the tournament committee adequate time to assign partners and
create draws, please register as soon as possible. When
registering, please indicate that you would like a doubles partner
assigned to you.
5) Draw and Match Formats:
Draws will be made to include a first-round loser's consolation
bracket. If there are 4 participants or fewer in a division, a
round-robin format will be implemented.
Main Draw Singles, Main Draw Doubles, Main Draw Mixed Doubles: Best
2 out of 3 sets, with a match tiebreak to 10 points in lieu of a
third set. Standard tiebreaks are used where you change sides every
6 points.
Consolation Singles, Consolation Doubles, Consolation Mixed
Doubles:: Collegiate format 8-game pro set with a 7-point tiebreak
at 8 games all.
*** Match Formats are subject to change based on number of players
in a division and weather conditions.
*Players will be given information upon arrival to the tournament
with greater detail for scoring
6) Date And Time For Draw To Be Made And Posted
Draw is to be done on Tuesday, July 25th and draws will be posted
on Wednesday July 26th, by 8PM. All players are instructed to check
in at the Reffkin Tennis Center at least 15 minutes prior to their
scheduled match time.
7) Late Entries Policy:
Late entries to the Tucson City
Championship will be considered only if the draw permits and we
haven't already begun making the draw/scheduling. Please make every
attempt to register by the tournament deadline.
8) Withdrawal/Entry Fee Refund Policy
After Entry Deadline: As a courtesy to other players, please
contact the tournament director as soon as possible if you must
withdraw, and a credit MAY be given for future use at the Reffkin
Tennis Center.
9) Check-In:
Please check in with the tournament desk
at least 15 minutes prior to your first match time. For all
subsequent matches, please check in at least 10 minutes prior to
the match time.
10) Tournament Schedule ***(Schedule is tentative and subject to
change)***
Generally, singles matches are played in the morning, doubles
matches are played towards the afternoon, and mixed doubles into
the evening. All divisions are scheduled to have matches Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday. If you have any schedule conflicts between
7am and 10pm during the tournament please email
reffkintennis@gmail.com by Thursday, July 20th and we will do our
best to accommodate them.
PLAYERS PARTY: Saturday evening, time TBD, there will be a
players party at Reffkin Tennis Center with light appetizers and
drinks.
11) Practice Courts:
Courts will be available from
6-7am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Reffkin Tennis Center. Once
the tournament begins at 7am, practice courts will be limited and
based on availability. Typically only courts 14 & 18 will be
open for practice.
12) Tournament Site:
The tournament will take place at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center,
located on the Southwest corner of Alvernon and Broadway at: 50 S
Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona 85711.
13) Racquet Stringing:
Our stringer will be onsite at
Reffkin Tennis Center during the duration of the tournament. Please
