IMPORTANT NOTES AND PLAYING FORMAT
This is a Level 4 Intermountain Tournament AND a USTA National Level 4 Tournament. ALL USTA INTERMOUNTAIN LEVEL 4 SUMMER MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES MATCHES WILL BE BEST OF 3 TIE-BREAK SETS, REGULAR SCORING. ALL DOUBLES MATCHES (INCLUDING THE FINALS!) WILL BE PLAYED USING AN 8 GAME PRO SET FORMAT WITH REGULAR SCORING AND A 7 POINT TIE BREAKER AT 8 GAMES ALL. You are not required to play both singles and doubles. However, if you want to play doubles, YOU MUST REGISTER IN THE SAME AGE GROUP AS THE SINGLES DIVISION YOU ARE COMPETING. For singles there will be a playoff for 3rd & 4th, 5th and 6th, as well as Consolation Champion and Consolation Finalist, but not for 7th and 8th. If any one singles division has more than 64 players applying, acceptance will be based on the most recent ITA standings for that particular division's draw. The top 64 players APPLYING will be accepted. Players registering online and receiving a confirmation number are NOT guaranteed acceptance--this is only confirmation that registration was performed correctly. DUE TO THE SIZE OF THIS EVENT AND THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING FROM OUT OF STATE, TIME AVOIDANCES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. With respect to return flights, people making travel arrangements should schedule their return to ensure that they will complete all rounds of play. All tournament play will be completed by late afternoon on Tuesday , AUGUST 16. If you have problems registering online, please contact TennisLink at linkteam@usta.com.

SEEDING POLICY
INTERMOUNTAIN SEEDING PROTOCOL - Seeding for all of the Intermountain tournaments will be taken straight off of the current ITA Standing's Lists except if there is an exceptional player aging or playing up. An exceptional player is defined as a player listed in the top 100 of the most current National Standings List in the lower age division. This exceptional player will be CONSIDERED for seeding. DOUBLES SEEDS will be taken directly from the most recent ITA Individual Doubles Standings Lists. Partners ranks will be averaged and seeded accordingly. Consideration for seeding will be given for exceptional doubles teams, which are teams comprised of players who are ranked in the top 100 of the Combined National Standings in the lower age group. AS SHOWN ON PAGE 74 IN FRIEND AT COURT - Number of seeds. The number of players seeded shall equal a power of two (for example, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32). The maximum ratio of players seeded shall be one in three, except that any draw may have two seeds.
|
Schedule of Play
Doubles will start on Friday after 3 p.m. and singles Saturday morning. Please be prepared to play 2 singles matches and 2 doubles matches per day.
|
SINGLES
All main draw singles matches are best two out of three
tie-break sets, and all doubles matches are eight game pro-sets with a seven
point tie-breaker at eight-all. All Consolation singles matches will play a
third set match tie-breaker (10 point) in lieu of a third set. Please remember that the singles draw of the USTA Intermountain SUMMER Masters Tournament will only run for four days, as per the Intermountain Junior Competition Committee's scheduling policy. This format only allows enough time for players to reach the finals of the back draw, but not enough time for the finals of the back draw to be played. Thank you for your understanding. Singles will be a 64 draw, with a full feed-in consolation.
|
DOUBLES
Doubles matches will be 8 game Pro sets. Players please check the competitor's list and verify that you are paired with the correct doubles partner. We have paired up players requesting partners. Please contact us immediately if there are any issues.
