IMPORTANT!
Due to a new policy from the USTA's legal department, tournament
directors will no longer have access to phone numbers and email
addresses of the tournament participants unless the player
re-enters their contact information at time of event registration.
This means that if a player does not enter their phone and email
information each time they register for a tournament, the
tournament director cannot contact them for any reason, including
withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc. Your cooperation
will ensure that tournaments can continue to communicate necessary
information to you. Thank you.
Reffkin Tennis Center welcomes you to the 2016 La Quinta (Reid
Park) Open! April 29th to May 1st. This event was
formerly called the Old Pueblo Grille Open. Please note only age
divisions will play all three days. Open and NTRP divisions will
play Saturday & Sunday only.
(2) MATCH FORMAT --> All Singles & Doubles (Main
Draw) 2 out of 3 sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set.
Consolation matches are 8 game pro sets. (Subject to change if
there are any weather delays or extenuating circumstances)
(3) PLAYER'S PARTY --> SATURDAY -- Time & Location

(4) CHECK-IN --> Please check-in 15 minutes before all
your matches in the tournament building. When you check-in for your
first match you will receive a tournament t-shirt gift (one per
player, not per event) and a raffle ticket to bring to the player's
party.
(5) AWARDS --> Trophies given out for 1st and 2nd for
divisions with 4 or more players/teams. For divisions with 3 or
less players/teams trophies for 1st only are given out.
(6) # OF MATCHES --> We do our best to guarantee players
at least two matches. Please make sure to check-in after all of
your matches to check if you have another match and when that match
is. Please don't make an assumption that you don't have another
match. Consolation Matches are REQUIRED to participate in to ensure
everyone gets lots of matches. Any no-shows for any of the matches
may result in you no longer being able to participate in future
Reffkin tournaments.

1) Deadlines:
Tournament Registration Deadline -
Sunday, April 24th at 11:59 AM (EST). Please register one week
earlier if you would like for us to assign you a doubles
partner.
2) Entering Multiple Divisions:
You may play a maximum of TWO of the following divisions: Singles,
Men's or Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
All adult & senior age divisions, NTRP levels (3.0, 3.5, 4.0,
4.5), and Open divisions offered.
3) Doubles Information If You Have a Partner:.
When registering online, please indicate your desired partner's
name or USTA number (preferred) on the registration form, and we
will pair you up in the selected division. Please ensure both
teammates are registered by the tournament deadline.
Combined Mixed NTRP Levels are as follows:As long as the
SUM of the two players NTRP level fall equal to or below the NTRP
being entered, you and your partner will be eligible for that
combined NTRP division.Combined 6.0 NTRP = (3.0 Player + 3.0
Player) OR (2.5 Player + 3.5 PlayerCombined 7.0 NTRP = (3.5 Player
+ 3.5 Player OR (3.0 Player + 4.0 Player)
Combined 8.0 NTRP = (4.0 Player + 4.0 Player) OR (3.5 Player + 4.5
Player)
4) Doubles Information If You Need a Partner:
In order to give the tournament committee adequate time to assign
partners and create draws, please register at minimum one week
before the deadline. When registering, please indicate that you
would like a doubles partner assigned to you.
5) Draw and Match Formats:
Draws will be made to include a first-round loser's consolation
bracket. If there are 4 participants or fewer in a division, a
round-robin format will be implemented.
Singles: Best 2 out of 3 sets, with a match tiebreak to 10 points
in lieu of a third set
Doubles: Best 2 out of 3 sets, with a match tiebreak to 10 points
in lieu of a third set.
Consolation Matches are 8 game pro sets.
*In the event of rain, scoring formats may be altered accordingly
so that all matches can finish by Sunday.
*Players will be given information upon arrival to the tournament
with greater detail for scoring
6) Date And Time For Draw To Be Made And Posted
Draw is to be posted on Wednesday April 27th, by 8PM. All players
are instructed to check in at the Reffkin Tennis Center at least 15
minutes prior to their scheduled match time.
7) Late Entries Policy:
Late entries to the tournament
will be considered only if the draw permits and will be subject to
a $5 late fee. Please make every attempt to register by the
tournament deadline.
8) Withdrawal/Entry Fee Refund Policy
After Entry Deadline: As a courtesy to other players, please
contact the tournament director as soon as possible if you must
withdraw, and a credit will be made for future use at the Reffkin
Tennis Center. If the draws are already made and you withdraw there
is NO refund and NO credit given.
9) Check-In:
Please check in with the tournament desk
at least 15 minutes prior to your first match time. For all
subsequent matches, please check in at least 10 minutes prior to
the match time.
At check-in you will receive a player's tournament t-shirt for
participating, as a gift from our sponsor, La Quinta Reid
Park
10) Tournament Schedule ***(Schedule is tentative and subject to
change)***
Generally, singles matches are played in the morning, doubles
matches are played towards the afternoon, and mixed doubles into
the evening. MOST DIVISIONS WILL JUST PLAY SATURDAY & SUNDAY
ONLY. For any divisions that have more than 16 players, there will
be some players that may have to play on Friday at or after
4pm.

11) Practice Courts:
Courts will be available beginning
at 7AM on Saturday and Sunday at Reffkin Tennis Center. Once the
tournament begins, practice courts will be limited and based on
availability.
12) Tournament Sites:
The tournament will take place at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center,
located on the Southwest corner of Alvernon and Broadway at: 50 S
Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona 85711.
13) Racquet Stringing:
Our stringer will be onsite at
Reffkin Tennis Center during the duration of the tournament. Please

Tournament seeding, if applicable, will be made by the tournament
committee based on performance in past events, NTRP rating and USTA
Southwest ranking points.
