TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW: Hosted in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona, the
Flagstaff Open is a USTA sanctioned tournament and also serves as a
Flagstaff Tennis Association (FTA) fundraising event for junior
tennis. For adults, there are open, age-based, and NTRP singles,
doubles, and mixed doubles events. For juniors, boys and girls,
there are singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events by age
division (e.g., 18s, 16s, 14s, 12s, 10s). The number of entries
determines the draw type for a given event, with emphasis on
multi-elimination draws (e.g., consolation, round robin) whenever
time, weather, and facilities permit. Matches will be played at
multiple court sites. With elevations over 7000', Flagstaff's cool,
mountain air and frequent sunshine serve up excellent conditions
for late summer/early spring tennis in the Southwest U.S.
