HOW DRAWS ARE DIVIDED INTO RED AND WHITE
To SEED this tournament the Texas Selection List is used dated 9/18/13. While round robins are not routinely SEEDED, it is done so we may place the appropriate players in the correct draw using the WAVE method. Players ranked 1, 4, 5, and 8 from the 2013 Texas Selection list dated 9/18/13 are in RED draws while players ranked 2, 3, 6, and 7 are in WHITE draws. If an event is not full (7 players instead of 8 selected) the RED draw will play only 2 matches to determine the advancing player. In events with only 5 teams/participants, one Round Robin will be used. Players/Teams in a 5 player/team RR need to anticipate two matches on Friday (early morning start), two matches on Saturday and the last match on "CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY".

EVER! NOTE: FINALS WILL BE PLAYED AS BEST OF 3 TIE-BREAK
SETS.
2013 RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
ALL THIS AT ONE TOURNAMENT....and it is a year end 600 point Adult
Tournament! Get ready for a GREAT TIME and GREAT TENNIS IN THE
BEAUTIFUL HILL COUNTRY OF AUSTIN, TX. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Best of 3
tie-break sets with a 10-point match tie-break in lieu of the 3rd
set; NOTE: FINALS WILL BE PLAYED AS BEST OF 3 TIE-BREAK SETS.
POINTS: TX Section: Adult-600.
National: Sectional Championships: 2x.
2013 RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Top 8 ranked players from each division will be selected based
on the 2013 Selection List rankings. This list will include the
prior 12 months calculations to include the adult sanctioned
tournaments played excluding the 2012 results of the Simply the
BEST - 2012 Texas Adult Masters Championships tournament; but will
include the 2013 Texas Adult Sectionals scheduled for Sept. 13 -
15, 2013.
2. Players must enter online and must enter prior to the entry
deadline to be eligible for this tournament. All players may enter,
but only the top 8 eligible and selected applicants will be charged
the entry fee.
3. If there is a tie in points, it will be broken first by
head-to-head play,
second, by the best win/loss ratio of matches actually
played,
third, by the highest point win in a single tournament.
The Tournament Committee shall then use a random drawing among the
remaining tied players to determine their order of entry.
4. Doubles are ranked individually and the top 8 players (who
enter) can pick and choose a partner. That chosen partner must have
played in at least 1 Texas Section sanctioned tournament within the
12 month ranking year in that category (levels/age, etc.) or
higher, in which they are entering/have entered. However, they are
not required to have played with that partner in a TX Section
sanctioned tournament. (Self Rated rules will apply to both
partners.)
5. Self Rated players will not be eligible to play and must have a
Year End Rating to be eligible for this tournament. THE ONLY
EXCEPTIONS: (a) The 2.5 DIVISION, who had to self-rate to begin
playing. The Tournament Committee has the right to disqualify any
that are playing outside that level. (b) If the player was rated as
a "T" - Tournament Exclusive Year End Rating, or an "M" - Mixed
Exclusive Year-end Rating at the end of the prior year, and then
became an "S" Self-rated player in the current year, due to
entering into League play. The player must send an email to request
a "History Verification Waiver Request" to NPerkins@texas.usta.com,
no later than the entry deadline. Requests are not accepted after
the entry deadline due to player selections will have already
begun. The historical rating (T or M) must be the same level or
lower, as the current self rating and entered level.
6. The Open divisions will no longer have prize money.
7. Each division will be a round robin (pool/play). That is, each
division will be divided by ranking position into two groups of
four, to play a round robin. Winners of each pool, within each
division, then compete for the Championship.
8. All matches, excluding FINALS, will consist of best 2 out of 3
sets with a match tie-break to determine the 3rd set. FINALS ONLY
WILL BE PLAYED AS BEST OF 3 TIE-BREAK SETS.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
