Notes
General Tournament Information
This is an outdoor clay court event except for the 10 and Under
divisons which will be held indoors on hard courts. Additional
indoor hard courts are available in case of bad weather.
Most of our summer tournaments are played on our well-maintained
outdoor clay courts. The clay court experience encourages these
young players to be more patient and more strategic while rewarding
hustle and effort. We would love to see you at our events and
provide you this experience. Visit our new website to see more
about the club at www.rivertrailstennis.net.
USTA Contact Information
Procedure for tournament registration: because of Privacy Laws,
your contact information from USTA membership doesn't show up in
the Tournament Directors' software anymore. Only what you indicate
during the registration process shows up. We have no way of
contacting you if you leave these areas blank. For instance, your
opponent is sick. You may make an extra trip here and not need to.
You must indicate all phone numbers, home, cell (a must!), work and
your email address on each registration, EACH and EVERY time, for
each and every tournament you register for.
M(Op,45,55,65)sd Format
This event's singles and doubles will play two sets of regular
scoring with a match tie-breaker instead of a full third set. The
new USTA rule also allows for a 3-minute break before the match
tie-breaker. In case of bad weather, indoor hard courts and
alternate scoring may be used.
BG(10)s Format
Following the USTA official 10 and Under program, the match format
will be best of 2 shorts sets to 4, regular scoring, and a match
tie-break to10 points if players split sets. The draw format will
be determined by the number of players that enter. We hope to do a
non-elimination compass draw or round robin.
Coed(8)s Format
Following the USTA official 10 and Under program, the match format
will be best of 2 out of 3 tie-breakers to 7 points, win by 2. The
draw format will be determined by the number of players that enter.
We hope to do a non-elimination compass draw or round robin.
Schedule of Play
M(Op,45,55,65)sd - If draws are larger, we will probably
play a first round of matches on Friday evening, followed by two
rounds on Saturday, and one or two rounds on Sunday. If draws are
smaller, we may start first round matches on Saturday, playing two
rounds on Saturday and finishing the draw on Sunday. In the past,
the Open and 65's Singles have been large enough for first round
matches to begin on Friday night.
BG(10)s - Each division should take 3-6 hours to complete,
depending on draw size. The girl's division will play in the
morning and early afternoon and the boy's will play in the
afternoon and evening. If draws are more than 12 players, we may
move the boys draw to play Sunday morning and afternoon.
E(8)s - This divisions should take 3-4 hours to complete,
depending on draw size. Matches will probably start Friday
afternoon around 4 or 5 and run through 7 or 8.
Draw Size
Initially we will be limiting all draws to 16 players in each. If
one draw is smaller, it may allow for another draw to take more
than 16.

NEW SINCE 2011 FOR BG10's IN THE MIDWEST
SECTION
All BG10 Level 6 Challengers will play on a regulation size tennis
court but will be using the Green Ball. In addition, the scoring
format will always be two out of three sets with a Match Tiebreak
(superbreaker) in lieu of the third set. The Green Ball is 25 %
slower and lower bouncing than the Yellow Ball. This helps players
to continue to develop good technique, movement, as well as
implement advanced tactics. Both team and individual events are
played. The USTA/Midwest Section recommends this stage for training
and it is required in all Level 1-6 tournaments in the USTA/Midwest
Section Points Per Round Program. To learn more
