BIRTH CERTIFICATES
BIRTH CERTIFICATES-
Players are required to have a copy of their U.S. Birth Certificate (and with green card if applicable) or a copy their Passport on file with the USTA Southwest Section office.
You have until Thursday 11:59 p.m. February 9th to fax or email a copy of the player’s birth certificate or passport to the section office. You will not be allowed to play without one on file.

The age divisions are currently scheduled to be played at the following sites:
Please note the B16 & B18 SILVER divisions will play the frst day, Saturday, at Indian School Park, ISP, and will play Sunday at Gene Autry, GA.

Located at 104th Street and Via Linda, south of Shea.
Gene Autry Sports Complex – GA on the draw - Boys 16 & 18

Located on McKellips Road betweenVal Vista Drive and Greenfield Road.
Indian School Park – ISP on the draw - Girls 16 & 18

Located on the northeast corner of Hayden and Indian School Roads.
Once the entry deadline happens, we may need to update the locations of where each age division will be playing, depending on the entry numbers and draw sizes.
Sites will open 1/2 hour before play begins.
This is a Level 4 tournament.

FINALS DAY LOCATIONS
All Finals will be held at two locations on Monday, February 13th:

Exact age divisions will be announced where they are playing their finals once the Draw is made.

12 and Under Event GREEN BALL
12 & UNDER AGE DIVISIONS
At a joint conference call held with the Southwest Section Junior Competition Committee and the Southwest Section Coaches Commission it was unanimously decided that all 12 and under competition in the Southwest Section will use the GREEN BALL in 2012. Consequently, the Valley of the Sun tournament will use the GREEN BALL.
Based on feedback from Parents, Coaches and the Coaches Commission this decision was made to allow for one pool of competitors in the 12 & under division in tournaments (instead of yellow and green ball divisions). Additionally, this will allow all 12 & under competitors equal opportunity to receive national points and earn spots on to our Zonal teams.
The parameters for advancement from Orange Ball competition to 12 & under competition are still in place.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
12s - 18s: Best 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring. The 7 pt tie breaker will be used in all sets tied 6 – 6. This tournament may be flighted. There will be a modified feed-in backdraw.
10s: 2 Short Sets, (first to 4 and win by 2, or tiebreak at 4 all), 3rd Set if needed 7 point tiebreak. Regular scoring.
Doubles: Eight game Pro Set with a tiebreaker at 8 all.

The open draw will be held Friday, February 3rd at the USTA Central AZ Tennis office, 5310 E. Shea Blvd.

Near the Scottsdale sites:
Scottsdale Community College, 9000 E. Chaparral Road, Scottsdale, 8 courts on the north side of the property.
Desert Mountain High School, 12575 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, 8 courts.
Cholla Park, 11320 Via Linda, Scottsdale, 2 courts.
Near Gene Autry:
Mountain View High School, 2700 E. Brown Road, At Lindsay Road.
Near Phoenix Tennis Center:
Rose Mofford Sports Complex, 8 courts - lit, 9833 N. 25th Avenue. 602- 261-8011.

This is a usta southwest section designated tournament and is
also worth level 4 national ranking points. This is a flighted
tournament and only the top flight (gold) counts for national
ranking points. This tournament is only open to Southwest Section
residents.
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, January 31, 2012 11:59:00 PM Arizona Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
