Welcome to the first SC State Junior Tennis Championship of 2011. We will begin play on Friday afternoon and will hope to conclude on Sunday. If we have extremely large draws or inclement weather, then we may have to extend play until Monday. Play is open to players from any Section or State. SC Level 2 and Southern Level 4 Tournament. Singles and Doubles.

REGISTRATION
Registration will be open beginning at 3:00 PM at the main site, Rock Hill Tennis Center (RHTC). You can register one hour before your match. We prefer that you register before your first match. We need to make sure we have a medical release and contact phone numbers to reach you during the weekend. If you are short on time, please go directly to your first match site. We prefer you to fax in your medical release before Friday (#803-326-3840). All late entry players must call the tennis center with their credit card payments before Friday. The player gift is a long sleeve t-shirt. Lunch will be provided to all players on Saturday (pizza) at the main site only. We will have fruit, water and hot drinks available at each site.

MEDICAL RELEASE
Please print, sign, and bring with you at check-in. All players & parents will be required to sign the form before the player will be allowed to compete in the tournament. By bringing this form with you will save sometime at check-in. Thanks.

ALTERNATE SITES
We will be using additional sites for the tournament. We will be using the Rock Hill Tennis Center (RHTC) as our main site. We will also be using NorthWestern High School (NWES), Winthrop University (WINT) and The Springfield Swim and Tennis Club (SWIM). Directions and physical addresses are available below in seperate messages and at the tennis center.

PARKING at RHTC
IMPORTANT!!! There are additional parking spots behind the tennis center at Sullivan Middle School. We have only 35 spots at the bottom of the hill of the tennis center, with an additional 200 spots behind the courts at the middle school. DIRECTIONS: When you turn left/right onto Maplewood Lane. from Cherry Road, do not turn into the parking lot of the center, continue straight on Maplewood Lane. for 1/8 of a mile, then turn right onto Eden Terrace and then a quick right into the middle school lot by the tennis courts.

10 and Under Ages
ALL PLAY WILL BE ON SATURDAY! As regulated for 2011 Nationally, all play in the 10 and Under Age Division will be on Quick Start courts. All play will be on a 60 foot court using low compression balls. We will play round robins in the girls and boys divisions and then have a Championship Final match for the overall winner. (This will determine the Champion and Finalist for the overall 10s division in each gender). We will play Doubles in a round robin format also and will have a Champion and Finalist in each gender. All play will be on Saturday. The scoring format will be as follows: best of 3 sets, first to win 4 games wins the set 7 point tiebreaker (sudden death at 6-6) is used for the 3rd set. This tiebreaker will only be used if a third set is needed to determine a winner after the first two sets are played. One site will be used for the 10s age division: Springfield Swim and Tennis Club. We would like for all of the players to participate in doubles. If you have a preferred partner, please tell us now. If not, we will pair you up on Saturday.

RACQUET STRINGING
There will be someone stringing racquets at the main site, but you may want to call in advance to make sure they can complete it in the time requested. You can reach them at the main number 803-326-3842.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
We will be giving out a Girls and Boys sportsmanship award this weekend. Please feel free to share any stories you have witnessed over the weekend of a player showing exemplary good sportsmanship with an official or the Tournament Referee.

MAIN SITE
Main Site: 897 Maplewood Lane, Rock Hill, SC 29730 From I-77 North/South: Take Exit 82 B towards Rock Hill. Turn onto Cherry Road heading west. Continue on Cherry Road for 1 1/4 miles through 5-6 traffic lights. Tennis Center will be on your left. If you have come to Cherry Park or to Blockbuster you have gone to far. CiCi-s Pizza & TCBY are across the street, Little Caesar's Pizza, Penn Station, & Family Dollar are a block just before the center on the same side of the street. Call (803)-326-3842 if you need help. From I-85 take Route #5 or Route 161 towards Rock Hill/York, do not go all the way to Charlotte. Follow Route #5 into Rock Hill & turn left onto Cherry Road. Continue on Cherry Road for 2.1 miles and the tennis center will be on your right.

NORTHWESTERN HIGH
The NorthWestern High School is located at 2503 West Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29732-8961. This site is appx 15 minutes drive from the main site. From RHTC: Turn left onto Cherry Rd and travel 2.8 miles to Main St/SC Hwy 5. Turn right on Main St/SC Hwy5 travel 2.6 miles. Go past high school then turn left at light and continue around to the back side of school. Follow the traffic circle around to the left and you will see the courts ahead on your right.

DIRECTIONS WINTHROP
Winthrop is hosting a collegiate tournament this weekend so we have limited use of their faciility. They will NOT have practice courts available. Please be respectful of this great privilege of being able to play on a college campus. Please arrive within 15 minutes of your match time. We have other practice sites around town that we can direct you to, please check at the pro shop at the main site for additional practice courts. Winthrop University Memorial Tennis Courts are located .6 miles from RHTC. From the tennis center, turn right out of the main parking lot onto Maplewood Lane. Go to next stop sign & turn right onto Eden Terance (behind RHTC). Stay straight for another .4 miles & the Memorial Tennis Courts will be on your left. You will go through (1) stop light to get to the courts. VERY EASY TO GET BACK & FORTH FROM EACH SITE.

DOUBLES
Please review the report posted above for Doubles partners to make sure you are in the correct age division with the correct partner. We still have a few players searching for partners.

SEEDS
Seeds are now posted on the players by event report listed above. If you have any questions concerning the seeding, please immediately contact the Tournament Referee, Scottie Rabb. (MSRabb@aol.com or 803-261-6581).

DOUBLES
If you need help finding a doubles partner, please email the Tournament Referee to request your name be placed on the web site. You can also send your contact information to be shared with other players seeking partners. We also have an event set up on facebook where you can send messages directly to other players. SC Junior State Open Championships at Rock Hill. (Click the more infor button below to find the link to the group on facebook). We would love to have all the doubles paired up by Sunday night. We need to at least know if you are interested in playing by Sunday night. The final deadline to have a partner is Tuesday, January 11th, 2011. After that date if you do not show a partner, your name will be placed on an alternate list. DUE TO PRIVACY ISSUES ,WE ARE UNABLE TO GIVE OUT E-MAIL AND PHONE NUMBERS FOR DOUBLES PARTNERS , UNLESS BOTH PARTIES CONTACT US BY E-MAil, PREFERABLY. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ASSIST YOU.

SEEDING - NEW 2011
Seeding will be done using USTA Regulations and following the New 2011 USTA South Carolina Seeding Policy. Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 50 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists of any younger age division.Southern Standing in the top 200 – may be given consideration for seeding. National Standing in the top 400 – may be given consideration for seeding. Out of State players with a Sectional standing up to 200 may be given consideration for seeding. We will do our best to be as consistent as possible with each age division using this policy.

MATCH PLAY FORMAT
All Main Draw and Consolation matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a match tie break in lieu of a 3rd set, if necessary. Consolation is a First Match Losers Consolation. There will be a playoff for 3rd and 4th place in the main draw (12's - 18's age diviisions). Doubles will use an 8-game pro set and will be single elimination.

REGULATIONS
The Point Penalty System will be in affect for all play.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
The Referee reserves the right to make any changes in match play format due to inclement weather, inlcluding play on Monday. (Monday may also need to be used for extremely large draws).

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, January 9, 2011 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
