To be invited to the NJT USA National Masters, players must win
their NJT Sectional Qualifier. All Sectional qualifying events for
2010 have been completed at this time, with the exception of PNW.
For information on how to qualify through your Section for 2010,
please contact your section's Junior Competition Director. ABOUT
THE NIKE JUNIOR TOUR (NJT): The Nike Junior Tour (NJT) is a
worldwide series of junior singles tournaments for Boys and Girls
in the 12 and 14 age groups. There are currently 28 countries
participating in the NJT, representing over 60,000 players. Former
NJT International Masters participants include Rafael Nadal, Juan
Martin Del Potro and Tomas Berdych. Countries scheduled to
participate in the International Masters include: - France, Italy,
Spain, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Germany,
Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Great Britain, Slovakia, Czech Republic,
Hungary, Russia, Australia, Israel, Argentina, USA, Mexico, Chile
and South Africa. The Section winner(s) are invited to compete at
the NJT USA National Masters at the Evert Tennis Academy, September
17-19. The NJT USA National Masters is a Level II USTA National
event. Nike provides round trip transportation, food and lodging
for the Section winner(s) (B14, B12, G14, G12) plus one team coach.
The NJT USA National Masters winners advance to play in the NJT
International Masters taking place this year at Club Med - Columbus
Island, Bahamas, December 8-15. Expenses for the International
Masters are paid for by Nike. NJT AGE ELIGIBILITY: NJT USA play
leads to the NJT International Masters where 28 countries
participate. Therefore, to be eligible for the NJT USA National
Masters and the NJT International Masters, players must meet the
ITF (International Tennis Federation) age eligibility cutoff date
of December 31. Example: If you are currently 12, but will turn 13
on or before December 31, 2010, you may play in the Section
Championship in the 12's but WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE to compete in
the 12's at the NJT USA National Masters or the International
Masters. Players should consider the ITF age eligibility to
determine which age group to enter if they want to be eligible to
go on to the NJT USA National Masters or International Masters.
PLAYERS TRAVEL: Nike will provide travel and lodgings for all NJT
USA National Masters competitors. Players will receive an email
from Nike with a link to a website where you will arrange your
travel and complete a brief athlete profile. Once Nike Travel
receives this information they will be in contact with you directly
to confirm your details. Nike Travel's priority is to have the
section participants travel together accompanied by the
USTA-selected Sectional Coach. TOURNAMENT SITE: The 2010 NIKE
Junior Tour USA Masters will be played at the Evert Tennis Academy,
10334 Diego Drive South, Boca Raton, FL 33428-1327 TOURNAMENT
HOTEL: The official NJT Tournament Hotel is the Hilton Suites, Boca
Raton. A special rate for NJT parents and guests has been arranged.
Contact the Hilton Suites at 561-483-3600 or 866-553-3175. Parents
and guests are welcome to attend, but must make their own travel
and hotel reservations. Important: Per the tenets of the NJT
experience, participants are required to room with other teammates
to encourage friendships and sportsmanship during the event.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The tournament will use a compass draw. All
players will play four matches win or lose, two on Saturday and two
on Sunday. Main draw matches will be two out of three tie break
sets. Back draw matches will be two set with a 10 point match
tiebreaker. BALL: Prince Tour balls will be used. DRAWS: Draws will
not be posted until Friday night, September 17, at the Players
Welcome Dinner. COURT SURFACE: Hard courts ENTRY FEE: Please send a
