Notes
Please provide email address and phone numbers in your entry
information (in case you need to contacted during the
tournament).
After the draws are made, "Draws" will appear in blue above. Please
click on it and read the "Player Information" below. Thank
you.
SPECIAL OFFER: During weekdays between November 15-23, tournament
entrants may make court reservations to try out the indoor courts
by paying a special rate of $15 per person for the guest fee.
(Normally, it's $25, and you must play with a member.) Call the
Front Desk up to 3 days in advance at
510-226-8500 ext 505 (e.g. on Friday for Monday).
ENTRY INFORMATION:
Until we actually make all the draws, we cannot tell how the
schedule of matches will shake out. In other words, we cannot tell
if a flight will only be played on one weekend. So when entering,
you should plan on being available to play both weekends.
If you just have a few hours on one day during which you cannot
play, we can often work around your time constraint. To make a
request, send an email to lparker@clubsports.com, listing the
starting and ending times that you are not able to be at the club,
and the reason for the time constraint. If it does not work out and
we cannot put you into the draw, we will either not charge your
credit card or refund (by check) your entry fee a few weeks after
the tournament is finished.
Players may only enter 1 event. Draws must
have a minimum of 3 entries to be held.
When signing up for doubles, both partners must submit an entry
online.
Draws may be limited (to 24 or 32 depending on the total number of
entrants). According to USTA NorCal regulations, entry is
NOT on a FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED basis.
If needed, teams/players will randomly be pulled out of the largest
draws and placed on the alternate list. If they do not get to play,
their entry fee will either not be charged to their credit card or
refunded by check a few weeks after the tournament is
completed.
If a player must withdraw from the tournament before the entry
deadline, it can be done online at the entry website. If a player
must withdraw from the tournament after the
entry deadline, contact the Tournament Director at 510-226-8500
ext.516 AND at lparker@clubsports.com.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Note: Do NOT rely on GPS, as some of the
directions on the Internet have NOT been updated since the Mission
Blvd - Hwy 880 interchange was completed. Please use these
directions:
From highway 880, exit at Warren Blvd and go west (towards the
Bay). The club is just past the Hyatt Place Hotel on the right side
of Warren, at the corner of Landing Pkwy. From highway 680, take
the southern Mission Blvd exit and go west (toward the Bay). At
Warm Springs Blvd, turn left (south) and go one block to the
stoplight at Warren Ave. Turn right, cross the railroad tracks (at
which there is sometimes a long delay for a train), and cross over
highway 880, where you'll see the Hyatt Place Hotel, with ClubSport
just past it.
PLAYER INFORMATION
1. The Tournament Desk and courts are located at ClubSport Fremont,
46650 Landing Pkwy, at the corner of Warren Blvd, which is on the
west side of Hwy 880 at the south end of Fremont.
2. All players and guests must sign in at the Front Desk upon
arrival.
3. Check-In at the Tournament Desk (at the bottom of the steps to
the Fitness Center) when fully ready to walk on the court and
play.
4.
It is the responsibility of all players to
check the draws for times of all matches. After the draws
are posted, players will be notified if changes are made to their
match times. If there are wholesale changes to the schedule, a
message will be left on the tournament website.
5. Matches for the SECOND WEEKEND will mostly be scheduled
initially, but may be scheduled after completion of the first
weekend. If you do not see a time for your match prior to the start
of the tournament, it means that it will be played on the second
weekend.
6.
Play is planned to be on the 5 indoor
courts. Thus, barring numerous 3 set matches, the tournament
stays on schedule fairly well. The 3 outdoor courts
may be used at the Chairman's discretion, and one is
set aside for the tournament, which may be used for warm-up if it
is not used for matches. Outdoor matches may be played under
lights. Some matches will be played in the EVENING. (Under extreme
circumstances, matches may be played at ClubSport Pleasanton, if
absolutely necessary.)
7. Although the outdoor courts are available to members to reserve,
if they are open during the tournament, they may be used by
tournament entrants for warm-up. Also, the indoor courts are
available 30 minutes prior to the first matches of the day (8:00 on
the first 3 days and 9:00 on the final Sunday) for warm-up on a
first come first served basis, while the referree sets up the
courts.
8. Matches are the best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring, with a
regular 7 point tie-break at six all. An alternative scoring system
using a 10 point tie-break in lieu of the 3rd set may be used, if
necessary. All events are single elimination. There will be a
playoff for 3rd place.
9. Pro-Penn extra duty balls are used.
10. Snack Bar hours are 9 AM to 4 PM.
11. There is no Pro Shop on site.
12. One complimentary t-shirt per player. Complimentary snacks will
be available in the tennis hallway throughout tournament.
13. Ringers on all cell phones must be turned off when in the
tennis court area.
14. Special rates are available at the Hyatt Place Hotel, which is
next door to the club.
15. Many players fill out the online
evaluation form after
completing the event. Please go to
http://www.ustanorcal.com/tournaments/Tournament_eval.asp
Thank you.
