DOUBLES Sign-up
ALL players planning to play doubles must sign-up in person at Highland Park Tennis Center during check-in on Friday, July 8th or by the deadline which is Saturday, July 9th at 10:00 AM (CST). Doubles play will begin on Saturday. All players must sign-in with their partner at the Tournament Desk in order to be placed in the Doubles Draw. Match format is an 8 game pro set with a 10 point tiebreak at 8 games all.

ON-SITE ALTERNATES
On site alternates must inform the Referee, in person, they are on site. The official On-Site Alternate List for each age group is ordered according to the Official Alternate List posted in the weeks leading up to the event. On-Site Alternates MUST CHECK-IN Saturday morning with the REFEREE at the respective sites and will be placed in order that as received at your check-in at the given site. After this, it is a waiting game. If a player does not show up for his/her FIRST match or withdraws before playing his/her FIRST match, the first player on the On-Site Alternate List is notified. On-Site alternates must be ON-SITE when called, or the next player on the On-Site list is notified.

***NEW USTA RULES FOR 2011***
When using a 10 point tiebreaker in lieu of the full 3rd set, there will be a mandatory 3 minute break.
Coaching will be allowed during this break.
When using a full 3rd set, there will be a mandatory 10 minute break between the 2nd and 3rd sets for ALL age divisions.
Line calls changed from "out" to "in" no longer result in a let. The player who made the incorrect call now loses the point regardless of their subsequent shot.

REGISTRATION & PLAYERS PARTY
Mandatory check-in for the tournament will be Friday, July 8th, from 11 AM to 7 PM (CST) at Highland Park Tennis Center, 3300 Highland Ave. S., Birmingham, AL 35205. If you are absolutely unable to make the Friday night check-in, you must check-in at HPTC at least 1 hour before your first match.
Report to your site 30 minutes prior to match time.
Please have the Medical Release Form filled out and signed by a parent/guardian with you at check-in.
Players' Pizza Party will be offered during check-in on Friday from 5 to 7 PM.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
The USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of the tournament registration. This is a USTA Regional Tournament with a draw size of 64 for Singles and a 32 draw for Doubles. NSL as of 68-11 will be used to seed all events.

All tournament sites will be open for practice each morning of the tournament at 7 AM, if matches are scheduled at the site that day. Courts will be available on a first come - first serve basis. Other sites listed are open throughout the tournament.
YMCA members have clay courts available at the Greystone and Mtn. Brook branches. You must contact the branch to reserve court times.

DRAWS & MATCH FORMATS:
SINGLES Draws will be limited to 64 players with a full feed in through the Quarter Finals and a 3/4 playoff. Main draw will play the best of 2 of 3 tie-break sets. Consolation will play a 10 point match tie break in lieu of 3rd set. Consolation is MANDATORY and will be played to completion. In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to change.
DOUBLES Draws will consist of 32 teams. Match format is an 8 Game Pro Set with a 10-Point Tiebreaker at 8 games all. Single elimination with a 3rd and 4th playoff.
All Players are required to play the 3rd & 4th place playoff.

HITTING PROS
Our staff is available for private lessons and warm-ups throughout the tournament. Private Lessons range from $60 to $75 per hour and $30 to $40 for a half-hour.
