Midwest Open Wrapup
A special congratulations to all our competitors on championship Monday. Weather was beautiful and atmosphere was awesome. On behalf of Club-net corporation we would like to salute our champions. Zach Mueck champion, Mihir Kumar finalist, Aaron Chafee 3rd place and Michael Fredericka 4th place. Michael and Elliott Yee were our sportmanship award winners this year. Both guys were excellent examples of our tournament motto, "have fun competing and testing our skills under pressure". These guys both won and lost close matches and handled themselves like professionals. Our Doubles champions were Ian Tesmond and Brantner Jones. They put on an excellent display of doubles throughout the event and Brantner is a repeat doubles champion at our event. We want to thank everyone again for coming and competing this year, and good luck to the boys going on to Kalamazoo this weekend. Mark Bey

LEVEL 3 NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
This tournament is a Level 3 National Tournament listed in the
National Junior Tournament Schedule and is open to players in all
Sections. For Midwest Section players this also counts as a Midwest
Sectional Championship and carries Midwest Level 2 points. We are
strategically placed so all entrants can have a minimum of 3 days
rest prior to the Nationals in Kalamazoo. Our tournament will be a
FIC (feed-in consolation) that will stop at the Semi-Finals of the
consolation, the reason being it remains a four day event.
USTA POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
This event will enforce the USTA Point Penalty System. Players will
receive five (5) suspension points for entering two or more
tournaments, matches, or exhibitions scheduled to take place at the
same time, in whole or in part, unless each Tournament Committee
member involved approves the multiple entries in writing via
e-mail.
SELECTION INFORMATION
Signing up for this tournament and receiving a confirmation number
doesn't guarantee entry. 26 players will first be selected from the
most recent July B16 National Standings top 200 List. In
addition, 98 players will be selected from the most recent July B18
National Standings List. For any remaining vacancies, the players
will be selected from the division of the tournament. Lastly, 4
players will be selected by wild card. This is a very competitive
selection process with the final draw being a mix of primarily two
divisions. If you have particular information to aid our committee
in the selection or seeding, please email Mark Bey at mark.bey@club-net.com before July 8th. For any
remaining spots we will use the most recently published Sectional
Ranking Lists.
WILDCARDS
As mentioned above in "Selection Information", four wildcards will
be selected by our committee. If you feel that you won't fall in
the parameters of selection above and you are interested in
applying for a wildcard, please email Mark Bey at mark.bey@club-net.com
or FAX Mark at (847)362-5577 NO LATER than
Monday, July 5th.

players will be chosen in order of B18 National Standing followed
by B16 National Standing. Any other remaining vacancies will be
filled by lot if necessary.

collegiate panel of Division One Coaches from 5:45pm - 7:00pm that
will be present to answer questions concerning the college
recruitment process. An interactive and informative dialogue will
be moderated by Mark Bey, and last year's seminar was a huge
success! All families are guaranteed to be enlightened by this
exchange of ideas.
ON-SITE ALTERNATES
For those players interested in registering as an "On Site
Alternate", you must go through the "Player Check-In Process" (read
above) the day before the tournament begins. We will then instruct
you as to where you report at 7:45am the morning the tournament
begins on Friday. You have a chance to get a spot if a player in
the draw is late, withdraws at the last minute, is sick, or doesn't
show up, etc., you will be placed in the draw in order of alternate
# based on who is registered at the site. On-site alternates must
be on-site when an opening occurs, we cannot call you and wait for
you to arrive. You are also welcome to sign up for doubles during
the Player Check In. Please bring $25 in cash or check (made out to
Midwest Open) for the doubles entry fee and if you get a spot for
the singles, the entry fee is $83.28 , which already includes
doubles.
