TOURNAMENT COMPLETED!
3 days of strong sount winds--rather unusual, but I guess I'll take that over 95 and still! It was great for spectators to keep from overheating, but an added challenge for those making the shots! Again, congratulations to all of our new champions, and congratulations to everyone who played their hardest and made a great choice of a lifetime sport to participate in! Our apologies to those who experienced some "issues" with the parking security on Sunday--we will try to work with festival coordinators to avoid that happening in future years. We hope you enjoyed the chance to play some tennis, and will consider joining us again next summer for the Woodbury Days tournament the end of August, and Lake Elmo tournament in late June.

DRAWS ARE NOW POSTED!
Click on the "Draws" link to the left under "Tournament Home" (or "More info" below) and select your event to check times for your first match and following match possibilities. If you see any glaring conflicts, call 651-373-9702. (We are aware of possible doubles conflicts with the boys 12 singles consolation finals, so will stay flexible on the time for that match.) Most matches will be regular scoring, two six game sets, at 6-6 play a tie-break to 7, if sets are split, play a tie-break to 10 in place of a 3rd set (ask an official if you are unsure of scoring). All players should check in with a tournament official after each match to confirm next match time. Our goal is to give the maximum tennis experience, so in many cases there is a match scheduled even following a loss in a second match (although there may be no trophy for winning it!)--e.g. in most brackets, a second round loss moves to the consolation round even if it is a player's second match, and a semifinal loss moves you to a 3rd/4th place match in BOTH main and consolation draws.

GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Singles and doubles for boys age divisions 10 -18, and girls divisions 10 - 14 are offered (note: girls 16 & 18 not offered due to restrictions on High School Varsity and JV players during their season. Girls in the 14 year old division who hope to play Varsity or JV should NOT register for the tournament). Players with little or no tournament experience are encouraged to participate! As an entry-level tournament, the emphasis is on participation, learning, and having fun! Matches are expected to begin about 2:00 p.m. on Friday, and continue 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday (most singles matches completed by 3:00 p.m. on Sat. & Sun.). We ask that you be as available and flexible during those times as possible, especially if there are weather issues. If there are particular time conflicts, let us know by 8/23 and we MAY be able to adjust scheduling (but no guarantees--we still need to keep the draws on schedule, and meet USTA player restrictions on the number of matches per day).

TOURNAMENT MAIN LOCATION IS WOODBURY HIGH SCHOOL
Courts in the surrounding area may be used if needed--your willingness to transport your child to these nearby courts is greatly appreciated! Woodbury H.S. is located at 2665 Woodlane Dr Woodbury, MN (do NOT mail registration information to this address!!!). From I-494 just south of I-94 in Woodbury take the Lake Road exit east, turn left on Woodlane, the school is a block or so down on the right. (See map link under "more info".) Matches scheduled here will be marked on the draw as "WHS". Note also that the "Woodbury Days" festival is being held near this location, so there may be some traffic and parking concerns--please allow plenty of time to arrive at your match (ESPECIALLY during Friday afternoon rush hour!), and check this website later for further instructions.

TRAFFIC CONCERNS
Both 494 and 694 just south and north (respectively) of 94 on the east side of the Twin Cities are undergoing "construction constrictions". 694 particularly is down to 1 lane for a significant stretch, so should be avoided if possible. I believe 494 has at least 2 lanes each direction now. Allow plenty of time to get to your match, particularly during rush hour. If you are delayed, call the tournament directors at 651-983-6798 or 651-373-9702 and we will do what is possible to hold your match, but it may be necessary to declare a forfeit, especially if there is a following match dependent on that result. It is very important that you contact us if possible to let us know you are on your way so we can make arrangements with your opponent. An alternative route to avoid this congestion is to take 94 and exit on Radio Drive/Co. Rd. 13 south, go about 2.5 miles and turn right (west) on Lake Rd., about 1 mile and turn right (north) on Woodlane, Woodbury HS will be a block or so on your right.
