Saturday FINAL Results
The final matches are complete for the historic US Open Sectional Qualifying Tournament - Texas! In the Women's draw, Alina Jidkova (Boca Raton, FL) defeated Rosalia Alda (Round Rock, TX) 6-2, 6-3. In the Men's draw, Colin Hoover (ARLINGTON, TX!) defeated Ryan Anthony Ybarra (Palestine, TX), 2,3. All four finalists were presented with acrylic trophies from the USTA, and the winners also received Olympus cameras to record their Road to New York experience.
Alina and Colin will advance to the US Open National Playoffs next month. The Men's Playoff Championship will be at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta, GA July 22-25, during the Atlanta Tennis Championships. The Women's Playoff Championship will be held at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium at Stanford University in Stanford, CA, July 28-August 1, during the Bank of the West Classic.

Draws Posted
Draws for this event have been posted, with match times listed through Wednesday. Match times for Thursday and Friday will be given to players the evening before play. Finals are scheduled for Saturday (see draws for times).
Players should check-in for the tournament following the schedule listed below. Players will receive packets at tournament check-in with important tournament information. Remember players must also check-in for each match 15-30 minutes before the scheduled match time.
- Men: If your first match is Monday (majority of players), check-in for the tournament on Sunday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM
- Women and Men: If your first match is Tuesday, check in Sunday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM or Tuesday morning, 8:00-9:00 AM. (No check-in Monday night.)
- Women: If your first match is Wednesday (e.g., you received a bye first round), check in Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM

Photo ID Required
All players will be required to present a valid photo identification at check-in.

Player Release Form
Reminder that all players are required to complete a US Open National Playoffs Player Release and Consent Form prior to the player's first match. You will be asked for this form upon check-in at the tournament so please bring the completed form with you.

Withdrawals
- Draws will be updated with withdrawals as they are received. Check draws for updated match times due to withdrawals.
- A player may not withdraw online after the entry close date.
- Withdrawals after the deadline must be in writing via email to atc@arlingtontx.gov.
- If a player withdraws after the entry close date by contacting the Sectional Tournament Director, he/she is not entitled to receive a refund.
- A player should not withdraw from a Sectional Qualifying Tournament except for illness, injury, personal emergency, or previously authorized entry into another tournament.

Selection Process
The Selection Process is in process. Draws did not exceed 256, which means a lottery selection process will not be utilized. Once the selection process has been completed, players may check Competitors to verify their status in the tournament.

General Information
This website contains important information about the 2010 US Open National Playoffs at Arlington Tennis Center, June 21-26. Additional detailed information may be found on the

- This tournament is part of the US Open National Playoffs – a series of tournaments that gives any person 14 years of age or older who meets the eligibility requirements the opportunity to earn a singles wild card entry to compete in the US Open Qualifying Tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, August 24-27, 2010.
- Participating USTA sections will run a men’s and women’s Sectional Qualifying Tournament between April 1 and July 5.
- Players will compete in a single elimination singles draw played to the best-of-three tiebreak sets.
- Players in the draw will not be seeded by any means.
- The winner of each men’s and women’s Sectional Qualifying Tournament will advance to the US Open National Playoffs – Men’s and Women’s Championship, which will be held in conjunction with Olympus US Open Series Tournaments this summer.
- At each US Open National Playoffs Championship, a maximum of 16 players will compete in a single elimination singles draw played to the best-of-three tiebreak sets with the one male winner and one female winner receiving a singles wild card entry to compete in the 2010 US Open Qualifying Tournament.

Match Format
- All US Open National Playoffs matches will be singles only with a single elimination draw played to the best-of-three tiebreak sets.
- If the Referee needs to take steps to shorten the tournament (i.e. due to inclement weather, health concerns, or safety concerns) to keep the tournament on schedule, the event may switch to any other scoring method (i.e., No-Ad Scoring, 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of final set or Pro Sets) with prior approval by the National Tournament Director or authorized representative.

Applicants are players who have registered for this tournament. Once the selection process has been complete, Competitors will indicate players who are entered in the tournament.

Draw Size and Seeding
The draw size at each Sectional Qualifying Tournament will be a maximum of two hundred and fifty six (256).- Players competing in a Sectional Qualifying Tournament will not be seeded by any means.
- The draw at each tournament will take place no later than two (2) days prior to the start of the tournament.
- A match shall neither start nor a suspended match resume before 8 am or after 10 pm.

Player Release Form

Tournament Check-in
- Tournament check-in for all players will be at Arlington Tennis Center.
- Players with first matches scheduled Monday, June 21: Tournament check-in is on Sunday, June 20, from 6:00-8:00 pm and Monday, June 21 from 8:00-9:00 am.
- Players with first matches scheduled Wednesday, June 23: Tournament check-in is on Tuesday, June 22, from 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday, June 23, from 8:00-9:00 am.
- PLAYERS MUST CHECK THEMSELVES IN FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
- Players must check in at the tournament desk for each match. 15+ minutes prior to scheduled match time is recommended.
- At tournament check-in, players will receive important tournament information, copies of the draw and tournament gifts.
- Players must bring their Player Release and Consent Form to check-in. This form is required before players may participate in the tournament.

Player Reception
The USTA Texas and Arlington Tennis Center will be hosting a special player and USTA member reception at Ventana Grille, located at Tierra Verde Golf Club, on Thursday evening, June 24, from 7:00-9:00 pm. Special guests will include Mayor Pro Tempore, Lana Wolff, and USTA Texas Executive Director, Ken McAllister. At the reception, Arlington Parks & Recreation will be presented with the 2009 USTA Texas Organization of the Year Award. The reception will feature hors d’ oeuvres and a cash bar. Business casual attire.

Practice Courts
- A LIMITED number of practice courts will be available at ATC free of charge throughout the tournament.
- Practice courts may be reserved in half-hour, half-court increments. Please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at the ATC front counter to reserve practice courts: 817-459-6163
- In addition to practice courts at Arlington Tennis Center, area park courts are available on a first come, first served basis.

- Emergency Care: Arlington Tennis Center is located directly across the street from
Medical Center of Arlington, one of our area's largest hospitals. In addition,
Medical Center of Arlington has a state-of-the art Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center that we hope you do not ever need to see.
- Photographer: A professional sports photographer, Tessa Kolodny, will be on site during the tournament. Ms. Kolodny specializes in sports photography and has photographed events including USTA Pro Circuits and ATP tournaments, Challengers and Futures. - Player Gifts: Players will receive several gifts at check-in, including water bottles and area coupons.
- Scorekeepers: Players will use of scorekeepers on court during matches to avoid scoring disputes. Each court will also have an identification board on the gate for players to list who is on court.
- Stringing: Arlington Tennis Center's stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area. We will have a stringer on site throughout the tournament for quick stringing turn-around.
- Trainer: Arlington Tennis Center has arranged a partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington's Athletic Department to provide a trainer on site during the primary hours of the tournament. We sincerely hope that you do not require the trainer's services.
- Wireless Internet: Arlington Tennis Center is pleased to provide free wireless Internet to our guests.

Referee and Officials
The Referee for this US Open Sectional Qualifying event is Sue Pranke. Ms. Pranke is has been an ITF Silver Badge Chief since 2003 and an ITF White Badge Chair since 1992. She has been certified as a Chair official, Lines person, Referee, Chief and ITA (Collegiate) official since 1984. Ms. Pranke also served as a USTA National Trainer Evaluator from 1995-97 and 2003-2009.

Sectional Winners
The National Tournament Director shall contact the winners with a formal invitation to compete in the US Open National Playoffs Championship and review the necessary details to confirm their participation.

National Playoffs
The USTA shall award a trophy for the winner and runner-up of each US Open National Playoffs Championship (one male and one female championship tournament).
- Following the conclusion of each US Open National Playoffs Championship, the winner will be contacted with a formal invitation to compete in the 2010 US Open Qualifying Tournament and review the necessary details to confirm his/her participation.
- Should the winner of a US Open National Playoffs Championship elect not to compete in the US Open Qualifying Tournament for any reason, the runner-up shall be invited to compete.
- Should the runner-up elect not to compete for any reason, then the winner of the playoff match for third place shall be invited to compete.
- Should the third place finisher elect not to compete for any reason, then the fourth place finisher shall be invited to compete.
- Should the fourth place finisher elect not to compete for any reason, the designated wild card shall be used at the USTA’s sole and absolute discretion.
- The one (1) male and one (1) female player who accepts the wild card entry into the US Open Qualifying Tournament shall be responsible for all costs and expenses associated with their participation (e.g., travel, accommodations, meals, etc.).
- Anyone competing at the 2010 US Open must sign a standard entry form before being allowed to compete.

Eligibility

- Players must be 14 years of age or older (as of 8/30/10)
- Open to Amateurs and Professionals
- U.S. citizenship is not required
- No domicile restrictions for players
- A player must be a current USTA member and must maintain his/her membership through and inclusive of August 30, 2010. (Membership can be obtained at discount through entering this tournament.)
- All players must be in good standing with the International Tennis Federation (ITF)
- Able/non-able bodied players may compete and shall abide by their respective rules of play
- A player may only enter and compete in one (1) Sectional Qualifying Tournament during a calendar year
- Participation in the US Open National Playoffs shall not impact a player’s ability to secure a 2010 US Open Qualifying or Main Draw Wild Card or receive a Direct Acceptance into the 2010 US Open

USTA Membership Required
- All players must be current members of the USTA and their USTA Membership must be valid through and inclusive of 8/30/10.
- Players who need a USTA Membership or need to renew their existing membership will be directed to do so during the online registration process for the tournament.
- Players may compete in any Sectional Qualifying Tournament regardless of their membership section.

Deadline
- The deadline for this tournament is Monday, June 7, 11:59 pm.
- No late entries can be excepted, including for players who have technical difficulties in the final hours/moments before the deadline
- Players are encouraged to register early to avoid missing the deadline.

Entry Process
The entry fee for each Sectional Qualifying Tournament shall be $125.00 plus a processing fee - for a total of $134.88.- Entry must be done online.
- Late entries CANNOT be accepted.
- The 2010 US Open National Playoffs
Player Release and Consent Form must be completed by all players prior to the player’s first match. Please print and complete this form prior to bringing it with you to the tournament.
- If the total number of entries into the tournament is greater than two hundred and fifty six (256), then the “Lottery Selection Process” will automatically determine accepted entries at random.
- A player’s entry fee will only be processed if he/she is accepted into the tournament. That is, the credit card will not be charged if the player is not accepted into the tournament.
- All players accepted into the tournament will receive an email notification via TennisLink indicating as such and will be posted online once the “Lottery Selection Process” is run.
- All players not accepted into the tournament will receive an email notification via TennisLink indicating as such once the “Lottery Selection Process” is run.
- Entries may not be refused on the basis of race, creed, sexual orientation, color, or national origin.
- A player may enter only one (1) Sectional Qualifying Tournament. However, if a player is not accepted in a Sectional Qualifying Tournament once the “Lottery Selection Process” is run, then the player shall have the ability to enter another Sectional Qualifying Tournament that still has open registration (if any).
- If a player withdraws from a previously entered Sectional Qualifying Tournament prior to the entry close date, then the player shall have the ability to enter another Sectional Qualifying Tournament that still has open registration (if any).
- If a player withdraws from a previously entered Sectional Qualifying Tournament after the entry close date, then the player shall not have the ability to enter another Sectional Qualifying Tournament that still has open registration (if any).

Advance Planning
- Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).
- Cell Phones: Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or in the Tournament room. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Dress Code: We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. Players who do not dress appropriately will be asked to adjust their attire.
- Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts.
- Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building & inside the fenced areas around the courts.
- Spectators: We welcome spectators for this event! However, spectators are not allowed on court at any time.
- Water: Water coolers are not on placed on courts at Arlington Tennis Center. However, players will be given free sports bottles in their gift bags at check-in, and a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. Players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop, and players may bring their own water jugs on court.

The tournament director will run a "Lottery Selection Process" via TennisLink within 24 hours after the entry close date which will automatically accept all entries if the total number of entries into the tournament is less than or equal to 256 for men's singles, less than or equal to 256 for women's singles, and less than or equal to 128 teams for mixed Doubles; and, if applicable, less than or equal to 128 teams for men's doubles, and less than or equal to 128 teams for women's doubles.
