Monday's Main Draw matches
Unfortunately, I have created a great deal of confusion when I said that the plan was to play two main draw singles matches on Monday. The intent was that if there were more between 33 and 64 players in the draw and to be able to finish the tournament in four days it would be necessary to play two main draw matches on Monday. Normally after the first day of a tournament players in the main draw only have to play one match a day through the finals whereas the players in the consolation have to play two rounds a day. This is generally seen as an advantage to the main draw players.
Based on what I stated I can see where it could easily be interpreted to mean that all events would play two main draws on Monday whereas only the B16S and B14S had between 33 and 64 players in the draw so they were the only draws that I planned on scheduling two main draw singles round on Monday.
Because some players made plans based on two rounds of Main Draw singles being played on Monday I am more than willing to play two rounds (the semi-finals, finals and 3-4 playoff) on Monday if both parties agree. So all main draw match times for Tuesday for other than B14S and B16S are tentative. Please contact me to make arrangements.

3-4 Playoff
Just a reminder that all events, singles and doubles, have a 3/4 playoff. So if you lose in the semifinals of any event make sure you check for your 3/4 playoff match time! It will be scheduled the same day as the finals of that event.

Mondayday Matches
Extreme heat is forecast for Monday. The heat index could be around 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of the extreme heat and the fact that some players have two main draw matches and out of consideration for the players all singles matches are to be played with a Match TieBreak in lieu of a third set.

Doubles Draws UPDATE TWO
Please verify your doubles times because I have had to change some times. Be aware that the doubles match may have been scheduled 1 1/2 to 2 hours after the singles match. I do this in case a player wants to play doubles right after singles. If a player wishes to wait he/she will be given appropriate rest time before the Doubles match. Sorry for any confusion.

Doubles Seedings
The Preliminary Doubles Seedings have been published. The seedings are based on the combined Southern Rankings of the players on a team. If you have any questions or comments, please email me at macmacdougal@bellsouth.net.

Singles Draws Published
The Singles draws are now published with match times for the first day. Also some doubles matches will be played on Saturday. The Doubles draws will be published by Thursday.
|
Final Singles Seeding
The final Singles Seedings have been determined and are published. After the feedback and review of the seedings two changes were made-one in the G18S and one in the B18S. The seeding is based on the all-factors method which includes all results including head-to-head in addition to the Southern rankings. Thank you for the input.

Doubles Partners
If you do not have a partner, please check the website for the list of those players, if any, in your event without a partner to see if you can be paired. Let me know by 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 20 if you have a partner. At that time if I don't hear from you, I will pair up those players without partners if I can. If there are an odd number of players I will randomly select the players to be paired and one player will end up with out a partner. That person will be place in the alternate list in case some player needs to be replaced prior to the doubles starting.

Tournament Schedule Plan
In an attempt to try to reduce travel expenses for the players we plan to shorten the tournament by one day to four days weather permitting. What this means is that two singles rounds will be scheduled on the third day of the tournament in addition to the first day. Also, this will mean that three rounds of singles consolation will be played on the fourth day.
