Thank you to everyone who came back to play the make-up Mid Cities from April 17 at ATC! We had nearly 90% return participation, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day! As of Saturday night, April 17, new match times have been posted for Sunday, May 2. ATC will open at 11:00 AM. If you must withdraw (and we hope you do not), please notify us at atc@arlingtontx.gov so that we may update the draws timely. We'll see you May 2!

Check In
Players need to check in at the tournament desk for EACH MATCH. 15+ minutes is suggested to avoid lateness penalties. Remember, once you check in, that means you are ready to play. Have your equipment (racquet, etc.) with you and personal business done (e.g., restroom), and stay near to listen for your name to be called for your match.

This is the 12:30 PM and final tournament update: We regret that the Mid Cities tournament for today has been cancelled due to rain. The courts are too saturated to dry in the high humidity, and an additional large band of heavy rains is expected by mid afternoon. The tournament has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 2. New match times will be posted on this tournament website by 10:00 PM this evening. We appreciate your patience during the delays today, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

We carry the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. At-A-Glance
- Mid Cities are one-day, non-sanctioned junior tournaments for non-qualified players.
- Fall and Spring Mid Cities are on Saturdays (unless otherwise noted). This tournament will be held Saturday, April 17.
- USTA Membership is required.
- The deadline for on-line registration for this tournament is Wednesday, April 14, 11:59 PM.
- Draws will be posted by 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, April 16.

About the Tournament
- This tournament is a non-sanctioned event for non-qualified players aged 18 and under. No Championship or Super-Championship players may enter the Mid Cities.
- Fall Mid Cities are generally held on Saturdays. This tournament will be held on Saturday, April 17.
- Events offered at this tournament are Singles for B&G 10s-18ss, and Co-ed 8s.
- Age divisions that do not make will be combined or cancelled.

USTA Membership Required
Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
Check that your USTA membership is current, your address and telephone numbers are correct and that you have listed alternate (work &/or mobile) phone numbers.
Junior players need to supply email addresses for each tournament, as that information is no longer available to tournament directors.

Entering the Tournament
- The entry fee for ALL Mid Cities players who do not register on-line is $20.
- Players who register on-line will pay $15, plus the USTA Tennis Link user fee of (approximately $3).
- On-line registration is encouraged as it is the fastest, least expensive and most secure means of registration.
- You should receive a confirmation number when you register on-line. If you do not, or if you have any problems with on-line registration, contact linkteam@usta.com.
- Check Applicants after registration for the most updated information. Competitors list may not be complete until after the deadline.
- Entries may be accepted in person from independent players (players not registering through a club) who do not register on-line, but the entries/fees must be in the hands of the tournament director and prepaid by Wednesday night, April 14, 11:59 PM. Note that ATC closes at 9:30 PM, and no email or fax entries are accepted.

Deadline
- THE DEADLINE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS 11:59 PM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, for on-line and manual entries.
- Pros from facilities may call in players from their clubs through noon on Thursday, April 15.
- No late entries will be accepted.
- If you are in doubt about your entry, check Applicants, and email linkteam@usta.com if your name does not appear on that list shortly after your registration on-line, or if you do not receive a confirmation number at the end of your registration process.

Scheduling
- Matches will not begin before 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 17.
- Matches may extend into Saturday evening, so please be prepared to play late, if necessary.
- Little (or no) rest period may be given between matches at Mid Cities tournaments, so please be prepared to play back to back, if scheduled.

Seeding, Draws and Formats
- Seeding is based on ZAT Standing Lists. Draws with insufficient information available through the ZAT Standing Lists may not have seeds (must have at least two).
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players from the same town when possible.
- Draws will be a maximum size of 32 players. Events with more than 32 players will be split and winners awarded for each draw.
- Draws will be posted by Friday, April 16, 12:00 PM (noon).
- Format for all divisions, main and consolation, will be 8-game prosets, no ad, tie-break at 8-all.
- Divisions with only three or four competitors will be scheduled as round robins or combined with other divisions.

Withdrawals
- WITHDRAWALS WILL BE REFLECTED ON-LINE THROUGH 6:00 PM FRIDAY, APRIL 16. LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE.
- If withdrawing late (after 6:00 PM Friday), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone BEFORE the tournament begins Saturday morning, as email may not be read "instantly" during the last hours before the tournament starts.
- Withdrawals after the tournament begins must speak with the Referee. Do not leave a message with the customer service staff.

For ALL Mid Cities: Players who withdraw after the draws are posted or who "no show" Saturday morning are still responsible for tournament fees. Non payment of fees may result in players not being accepted into future Mid Cities tournaments.

Awards
Awards will be given in each division for First, Second and Consolation.
|
|
Balls
Balls used for this tournament are Penn Championship Yellow Extra Duty. Two new balls will be distributed for each main draw and consolation match.

Point Penalty System
- The USTA Code of Conduct and the Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced for the benefit of all players and spectators.
- Any player who is issued two code violations during the summer Mid Cities schedule (due to player or spectator actions) will be disqualified from remaining tournaments that season.
- Lateness penalties will also be assessed. See Junior Know the Rules for general information on lateness and PPS. THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD REGARDING LATENESS.

Officials
Mid Cities tournaments are no longer required to have certified officials on site. However, ATC will have at least one court monitor or certified USTA Official on site throughout all or most of the tournament.

Site Information
- All Matches are tentatively scheduled to be played at Arlington Tennis Center.
Alternate locations may be necessary, depending on number of tournament entrants.

Practice Courts
Practice courts will not be available at the tournament site. Please see the area tennis map for information on park courts near ATC that can be used for practice on a first come, first served basis.

|
Rain Date
- If the full tournament on Saturday is rained out or cancelled due to inclement weather, the tournament may be made up at a date to be determined.
- Please confirm with tournament desk about rain issues/makeup, or call 817-459-6166. Refunds will not be given for divisions that begin play.

Videotaping
Personal videotaping and photography is not allowed, except parents/guardians who are videotaping their own child from a non-distracting position off court. The umpire or tournament staff may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined to be interfering or distracting to either player.

Advance Planning
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside fenced areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the ATC property (including the parking lot).

Water on Courts
- Water coolers are not on placed on ATC courts. However, free cups, are available in the proshop, and a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio.
- Water fountains are also located near courts on the far west and south sections of the property.
- Players are welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop.
- Players may also bring their own water jugs on court.

Cell Phones
Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or at the tournament/site desks. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones around the courts either at ATC or at alternate sites should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations at ATC. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators at ATC wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs/abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well.
